Fuck Israel. They have universal Healthcare we pay for yet 40 million Americans are about to completely lose access to theirs. Our politicians vote based on their AIPAC donors, not us their constituents. They are engaging in war crimes and genocide that are being funded with our tax dollars. While I agree with you that Religion needs to be out of politics the problem is a voter wants to know are you a Christian, Muslim, etc so it will never be out of it. With that said though, go listen to Talarico, yes he talks about his faith but he does it in a way that is still inviting by non Christians. He supports all faiths not just Christian. I disagree. As a voter the last thing I want to know is a politicians religious beliefs. What is good for the community and its constituents, whether economically, judicially, or sociologically has nothing to do with someone's opinion on what happens when we die. I think most people would respect a candidate who says "my personal relationship with God is private and I'm here to represent all the people of my district regardless of their faith". I have heard Talarico speak. I like that he points out the hypocrisy of other self identified Christians. He will get my vote because I'd sooner light myself on fire than vote for a Republican, but I'm sick of Christianity being shoved down my throat and influencing my life.
I honestly think he mostly talks about Christianity because he’s sick of hypocritical people claiming that their political actions are Christian when most of what they do is an unChristian as it gets - he’s talking about his own faith to call out the hypocrisy. If Christianity wasn’t already so visible in US politics, I don’t think he’d be talking about it, at least not much.

I also think he can leverage his experience as a school teacher with rural voters. With all of the cuts to school funding I have to believe there's rural parents for whom thats a major issue. Maybe I just haven't seen a moderate from either party in too long, but for some reason he gives me Fetterman vibes. Hopefully I'm wrong, anything is better than the usual suspects.
