Another year wrapped up, another backlog of freebies claimed! 2025 has been another great year for FreeGameFindings, and before we jump into a new year of even more freebies and “I can't believe this is free?” moments, let’s take a look back at what happened this year.
Let’s start with the big picture. This year, 24,000 new subscribers joined FreeGameFindings, pushing us past the 400,000 subscriber milestone!
If you joined us in 2025: welcome! Whether you post, comment, or just quietly collect games, you’re part of what keeps our community awesome.
Visitors & page views:
Not everyone posts or comments and that’s perfectly fine. Many of you swing by, grab a freebie, and move on, and the numbers show it:
- Over 2.2 million unique users visited FreeGameFindings this year
- An average of 181,000 unique users per month
And as tradition dictates, December once again turned the subreddit into controlled chaos, as Epic’s daily freebies sent traffic through the roof with nearly 4 million page views in December alone, totalling 28.5 million total page views for this year.
How You Access FGF:
There are plenty of ways to browse Reddit, and you keep using all of them to access FGF. Here’s how the community split this year:
- 60% on new Reddit (unchanged from last year)
- 26% on mobile platforms (1% down from last year)
- 12% Android app
- 5% iOS app
- 9% mobile browser
- 14% staying loyal to old Reddit (1% up from last year)
Posts & Freebies Breakdown:
2025 was another fantastic year for free games.
A total of 215 different users submitted 1132 posts, averaging out to around 3 freebies every single day.
Here’s what was shared:
- 750 free games
- 141 in-game freebies
- 90 free DLC
- 132 PSAs
- 19 other posts (FGF giveaways, Mod posts, etc.)
Now, let's talk about the places with the most free games. Steam once again takes the top spot thanks to external site giveaways, but here’s the full breakdown of free games posted per platform this year (including restocks):
| Platform | Free Games |
|---|---|
| Steam | 376 |
| Epic Games | 135 |
| IndieGala | 80 |
| Itch.io (without megathread) | 54 |
| Stove | 37 |
| GOG | 20 |
| DLsite | 10 |
| Xbox | 3 |
| Nintendo | 2 |
| Ubisoft | 1 |
Top 10 Submitters:
Of course, none of this happens by magic. Someone has to actually find these freebies and some of you were clearly on a mission this year to share as many as you can find (possibly fueled by caffeine and alerts).
The top 10 submitters alone account for over 70% of all posts this year. And once again, u/MeguminShiro was on another level, contributing a staggering 33% of all posts by themselves.
Huge thanks to everyone on this list and to everyone else who shared even a single freebie!

Some freebies just hit different. As expected, Epic Games giveaways dominated engagement, pulling in lots of upvotes, comments, and views. Thankfully, GOG made sure this wasn’t a clean Epic sweep.

Comments:
FreeGameFindings has never been just a list of posts. A big part of the value here comes from comments: discussions, warnings, region checks, “still works” updates, and the occasional panic when a freebie is broken.
In 2025:
- 7,678 users left comments
- 39,500+ comments were posted
The top 10 commenters alone were responsible for over 75% of all comments.

Top 10 Posts with the most discussion:
Which posts sparked the most conversation? While some game giveaways made for a lot of discussions, this year's top posts features a lot of PSA posts as well.
(FGF Giveaways are excluded since commenting was required to enter.)
Thanks to everyone who posted, commented, upvoted, or just grabbed a free game and smiled. Here’s to 2026, may it be another year with great freebies!🥂

Looks fun!
Everything was fun, except the rain 😭 It was still raining there when things happened.
Happy New Year FGF! Wishing everyone good health and loads of amazing freebies in 2026 :)
I'm new around here and I didn't realize steam was giving out a lot of games. Wow. I look forward to next year.
It's not just on Steam itself, although that's probably still a large part of it, but as well on sites that provide Steam keys.
Oh, that's cool. I assume those Steam keys are just giveaways, right?
Yeah definitely
To another year of Free Games Findings!

75 free games for Steam so far. Thank you, FreeGameFindings sub. 2026, let's go!
is this from this their 2025 recap for did you make this collection yourself?
I make the collection myself
Omg I'm famous. Being serious I want really give thanks to the community, this year was the worse for me and this community give something little to be happy for. I don't even have a pc to run most of the games but the excitement of getting a new game is a nostalgic feeling.
As someone whos just joined this community ( and reddit entirely) this is the one place ive genuinely never faced any backlash or hate. ( i got banned giving away a borderlands nvidia promo one some other place and no one even told me why . Im pretty sure i followed the rules but whatever)
Everyone here is just so accommodating and i look forward to being the one gifting rather than always being on the receving end!
I cant buy shit yet so will yall can count on only nvidia/ prime gaming codes when i can.
Thanks a lot fam and
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
A great year of FGF. On to many more!
Huge thanks to all the users of FGF, all those that post /share. The mod team and to /u/Saulios for making this recap post <3
Also a big thanks to everyone I had the pleasure of working with this year for FGF Giveaways!
I find these kinds of stats fascinating so thank you for compiling them here.
Hope everyone has a happy, safe, and uneventful 2026. May the free games finders bestow us with more gratis gaming goodies!
What is a PSA?
I did not realize steam had 300+ free games. Ubisoft and microsoft used to give away free games. They seem to have stopped. I got farcry 3 and 4 for free off of them.
Public Service Announcement

Thank you for the community, and for all who raise awareness of the free games! My gaming backlog would be so much smaller without it 🤣
Happy new year guys! Here is to another great year of awesome free games!
Happy New Year everyone! It was great year for freebies! To the next one! Hope it's even better!
Nice, heres to another year of FGF! 🥂
Thanks everyone! Wish you all a happy new year!
Happy New Year everyone! There were a lot of good giveaways, and may they continue in the next one. FGF achieved great numbers, and to make 500k happen soon!
Another great year for this subreddit. I was surprised how lackluster the christmas giveaway keydump thread was. Seems like less people had keys to give out and they were gone instantly via keyshare. Still I got plenty of free games this year due to this subreddit. Keep up the great work.
63rd place! Happy New Year to everyone!
Happy new year and thank you FGF family!
Cheers all!
Nice. Glad to see the place is growing well. And a happy new year to all.
Merry new year FGF! Shoutout to every awesome mod, contributor & gifter here who work tirelessly in making this sub such a wonderful hub for freebies.
Appreciate it y'all. Plus I only started my journey with Epic Games recently. So this sub has been a godsend for keeping me & the community up to date.
There's a PlayStation game missing that I got for free thanks to you: Shadow Tactics. You may not have considered it for this annual wrap because Sony removed the PS5 version from library but I still have the PS4 version.
Well, today is a great day. Of course new year and I find out that I am 42nd on the commentors and the five year cake day for me! Happy New Year Everyone! On to a new one!
6th place LETSGO OOOO
Also, more straight up freebies from Steam this year.
Happy New Year, everyone! Thanks for all the free games you've posted so far, my backlog loves you. :D Cheers to another year!
thanks for being one of the best subreddits on reddit ever!
