That makes me think of my experience with Void Bastards. I don't understand why they wouldn't implement simple fallback melee. That would have literally been game-changing.
I'm at 540, and I was sure I bought a few of the games in my library, but I just checked and every transaction is $0 and I've never even attached a payment method.
I agree that the store and launcher is pretty crap, including still being poorly optimized, but it really is childish to be looking a gift horse in the mouse.
True, but this sub also heavily shits on anyone who says anything negative about the games. I want to see people critiquing and reviewing the games; yes they are free, but my time and hard drive space are not.
But as it stands now, everything negative gets treated as if the person is a whining crybaby, no matter how valid the criticism. Today's game is 75 gigabytes and has decidedly mixed reviews, and I think that's fair to point out.
I think we need to support valid criticisms, while still mocking (or better yet, ignoring) invalid ones, otherwise this sub will just be one long Epic Games Store advertisement.
what games lmfao? They are literally being given out for free, holy fuck talk about first world problems(typical of redditors). "Ohh but my poor hard drive space", not every game will be for you buddy, with some people these are the only games they can even play due to financial reasons
Aren't these discussions made for the sole purpose of discerning between games that are either for or not for the user? If you see all discussion online that doesn't shy away from pointing out negative aspects as just unproductive whining, then that's on you.
with some people these are the only games they can even play due to financial reasons
And many of those people lack the luxury of being able to store every single game on their library due to the very same financial reasons.
People like different things, and are also willing to put up with different things. Some may get put off by bad voice acting, others think it's hilarious and will sit through it. I think all productive discussions about media should be welcome, regardless of whether you're getting it for free.
75gb? Are you not running one or multiple terrabytes? Why not just install it and try it for yourself, create an opinion of it, and of you don't like it....just uninstall it.
So stop to keep collecting everything because "it's free" and spend some coin on what you think worth your time...
Buy what you want and pleases you and play it! I'm sure you'll be much more satisfied knowing you are getting what you paid for if your preciousss time is so valued.
And BTW, for someone whining so much about a good game that is being given cause hadn't time and/or resources to download an play it to take his own conclusions, you are wasting too much time here!
Definitely do not have infinite time between a young baby and my shift work but I believe everyone should still experience things they don't enjoy from time to time. So if you rely only on the opinions of others for what games are played, you'll never truly understand what you yourself like and don't like.
EXACTLY!!! Same for me too! I feel blessed for so many awesome games free from Epic, including some great awesome titles as well as great indie titles too. Even now i am playing "Dungeon of Naheulbeuk".
I’m not simping a corporation. I just don’t write whiny Reddit comments every time the 100% free game isn’t exactly the one that I wanted. And yeah, I am grateful for this transaction because what they’ve given me is hundreds of games and what I’ve given them is nothing…
What a cynical response. That’s like going to a store and the clerk hands you a free Snickers bar. Then, instead of being happy you got a free candy bar, you grumble about them being in the business of selling candy bars and it all being a grift to sell you more stuff and screw you over. Grow up.
It's like a store which receives billions in funding from multinational companies handing out free snickers in order to try and steal business from a self-sufficient neighbouring store who have been serving the community for over 20 years.
So does every other site on the internet and I get a lot less out of it than hundreds of free video games. They probably haven’t collected 1/10000th of the data about me that Meta, Reddit, Google, etc have
They've clearly updated the list to pretend they were right all along but didn't bother re-reading the rest of the article, here's the obvious part:
the list contains some heavy hitters like The Division 2, Outer Wilds, Dying Light 2
The list shown here lacks either Division game, meaning the list was wrong at some point but they didn't correct the article
But wait, maybe it was a mistake by the write- nope, someone archived the original list, would you look at that, December 24, today, had The Division 2 as the giveaway and pretty much the entire list has been wrong so far
I looked at that and the upcoming games list suspiciously looks like the second fake list that dropped after the RDR2 one. The only difference is that the games till today from that list has been replaced with the proper ones we got.
Edit : I knew it looked familiar. Have a look. Posted 19th December on X so right after Jotunnslayer. They cheekily updated the fake ones with the games we got. Safe to say the source is a fake.
I would hope they'd make the Christmas Day giveaway something that wasn't previously given - several of the other recent giveaways weren't previously given and would have made fine Christmas Day finales.
Claim Everything (PC / Android / iOS) - Here
(Skip this in case you already claimed it yesterday)
When using any claim links here the page going complete white which is perfectly normal. Also, if you're facing any error you probably already have it in your library. Check if you already have it -here
Well, it might not be worth their time, but then why is it worth their time to state exactly that? What do they (or we, the readers) gain from that? Isn't it a way of complaining? But then, complaining about what? A free offer? That they are disappointed with? Why should the reader care (who doesn't even know the poster and their preferences, so not knowing if this complaining could be relevant to the reader) and not regard this as spamming the comments that should be more about the subject matter (the giveaway)? Are they speaking to the readers thinking the readers are undecided and should not even try the free offer? Would that not be paternalistic?
To be fair, I also don't really see the point in the positive comments à la "Nice game" or "I like it". They are also just padding up the comment sections without offering related information about the giveaway. If you like something, you can upvote it. If you don't, you can downvote. These "like / don't like" comments just offer information about the posters, thereby hijacking the comments that should be about the subject at hand, not about the posters.
Is there a place to find a full list of DRM free games on Epic? I have quite a few from giveaways and I'd be curious to see which ones are and aren't without installing and trying every single one.
i really don't care. I have over 200 games owned on steam, but even i know that this game will be fun for the people out there wanting a free game, it is a tad short though considering its price but whatever
Guy associated with making Dead Space reminds you that games aren't made by one person so just because he's the one associated with the franchise that doesn't mean he can replicate that game
Also the franchise pretty much ends with the DLC shitting on you if you ever cared about it, it is genuinely comical if you don't give a shit about The Callisto Protocol while insulting to anyone that did
Also, also, The Callisto Protocol at one point was connected in lore to PubG, then this was removed, but the lore actually makes more sense if it was still connected to PubG
It's mostly just the fact that it was marketed as the successor to the Dead Space franchise, yet is significantly worse than a game from 2011. It's not just that it's hard to view it objectively on it's own merits, but that the game's creator was the one personally making the comparisons. It also didn't help that there was a Dead Space remaster that came out near the same time of release.
On it's own merits, the entire combat system (the gameplay you spend 90% of the game doing) is monotonous and boring. The best you could say is that the graphics are good. Doesn't really stand out against other contemporary survival horror games.
I played both this game and the Dead Space (1) remake back to back not that long ago.
While this game (Callisto Protocol) did have better graphics and more cinematic cutscenes, Dead Space Remake just had far better gameplay, story and final boss fight.
Tbf, maybe if you don't play it expecting it to be as good as Dead Space, then it's maybe a decent enough linear action game. But since I knew it was a spiritual successor to Dead Space made by the creator of Dead Space, I felt it was disappointing.
Pretty much everything else besides the graphics are bad with some horrible game and lvl design and one of the worst camera systems in modern game history
Gotcha, thanks. It's been sitting in my library since the last giveaway and I want to give it a fair shake but I've heard a lot of meh things about it.
Howlongtobeat has it at 10hrs for the campaign so I think if you can play it on 2-3 days you can beat it. Not too much of a time commitment. So sick of these 40+ hr games so I might give it a go too.
So that's why the storefront wouldn't even display the next "mystery game" on the home page.😏 Then again, by that logic, does seeing the aforesaid banner now suggest no region locks on tomorrow's item?
I enjoyed it, it wasn't like super great but not bad either ... If u see it as I see it, as a graphical somewhat short decent story with cool atmospheres and some decent melee combat.
Very disappointing giveaways this year so far i did not expect this especially not on the 24th with a past giveaway and the season pass for this game on the store costs as much as what most people would rather spend on steam or psn store at this point for more fresh games.
It feels like theyve finally given up so far against the other DRM´s if you notice the games given they are mostly the ones trying to bait you into buying their addons/dlcs which are usually overpriced compared to other places. Only interesting game for me so far was bloodstained which i bought for steam a year ago but havent played yet. overall though after buying a ps5 with premium this black friday and seeing what is on offer for free i think even some of the games given away is free there like bloodstained maybe even callisto its quite underwhelming. On top of that its a niche genre game with its horror theme so like me alot of people prob just watches them on streams or stick to only Resident Evil series because the quality is generally much higher.
Not really sure if there is a big blockbuster at this point this year maybe on 31th but i cant really think of a game aside maybe RDR2. I think GOG might give away Cyberpunk +/- its ultimate edition this year maybe since the base game has been available on psn premium for a while by now.
Most countries celebrate Christmas on the 25th afaik, although a fair bit in Europe do it on the 24th (and some on the 7th Jan). Ergo, tomorrow's game may be better?
I don't think this game is shit even though it's a repeat it's a decent game. I liked the other giveaways better but even if you do think it's shit you'll be getting a new game every day for the next 8 days, so that's 8 more chances to get games that you might not think is shit.
Saints Row, Mindseye and Concord are worse than Callisto, so dont exaggerate, the game is fine, nothing outstanding besides graphics, and nothing really bad to say about it
great another shit repeat from the last year if they do not give red dead redemption this im gonna be fuckin hella mad free or not give us something you haven't already make it worth it or stop giving games at this point i would rather not get my hopes up
Hopefully tomorrow will be a game I don't own
Yeah already got this one free last year.....still haven't tried it either haha
It's really good honestly. So much hate out of nothing
A bit repetitive but I enjoyed it enough to buy the DLCs.
It's really not that good at all. Hence the mixed reviews on Steam
The duality of reddit lmao
I'd say it's fine, but it got overshadowed by Dead Space Remake that launched a couple of months later (which is much better in comparison)
Ah god damn it. I played that a few months ago. I guess I'll have to wait a few more months before Calisto, woof
It has one boss like five times. It's dogshit bro.
I ran out of ammo in a boss fight and found out I was soft locked out of the game. That was it for me.
That makes me think of my experience with Void Bastards. I don't understand why they wouldn't implement simple fallback melee. That would have literally been game-changing.
Same. The one on the lift. I uninstalled.
At least you got some upvotes lol.
Why does this sub always seem so ungrateful? I have 300+ games on Epic and have literally never given them a cent.
I'm at 540, and I was sure I bought a few of the games in my library, but I just checked and every transaction is $0 and I've never even attached a payment method.
They just like hating on Epic and the Epic store.
I agree that the store and launcher is pretty crap, including still being poorly optimized, but it really is childish to be looking a gift horse in the mouse.
I'm trying to figure out if this was a computer pun or an autocorrect error or if you just think that's how the saying goes.
Ha! Autocorrect error that I didn't notice, but I like it better this way.
True, but this sub also heavily shits on anyone who says anything negative about the games. I want to see people critiquing and reviewing the games; yes they are free, but my time and hard drive space are not.

JFC 75 GIGS for a freaking game???
75gb? Are you not running one or multiple terrabytes? Why not just install it and try it for yourself, create an opinion of it, and of you don't like it....just uninstall it.
cause some people work for a living and want to spend their free time playing games not downloading games
So stop to keep collecting everything because "it's free" and spend some coin on what you think worth your time...
Buy what you want and pleases you and play it! I'm sure you'll be much more satisfied knowing you are getting what you paid for if your preciousss time is so valued.

Turn on download.
Go to sleep
Go to work
Wait a month
Finally can play game 🥰
I'm glad that you have unlimited internet, unlimited storage, and unlimited time to play games.
Not everyone does.
Different people have different lives, and therefore different needs and wants.
Definitely do not have infinite time between a young baby and my shift work but I believe everyone should still experience things they don't enjoy from time to time. So if you rely only on the opinions of others for what games are played, you'll never truly understand what you yourself like and don't like.
Just to be clear, I'm not complaining about this or any other game.
I'm merely saying that this sub has a tendency to attack anything perceived as negative.
Sometimes we can help each other out instead of saying, 'Do it yourself.'
EXACTLY!!! Same for me too! I feel blessed for so many awesome games free from Epic, including some great awesome titles as well as great indie titles too. Even now i am playing "Dungeon of Naheulbeuk".

You can be grateful without it being towards an individual. I'm grateful for my health but I'm not thankful towards anyone in particular.
It's not that deep, mate. I've got a ton of free games. I'm grateful. Loosen up.
It's like a store which receives billions in funding from multinational companies handing out free snickers in order to try and steal business from a self-sufficient neighbouring store who have been serving the community for over 20 years.
Huh. I guess I'm the weird one because I only claim games on epic that I actually have an interest in eventually playing at some point
You are aware that Epic is farming data from their launcher and games like Fortnite, right?
And if you linked other accounts to it, like Steam, they are also doing for profit opposition research off your data.
They are making money off you even if you arent aware of it
So does every other site on the internet and I get a lot less out of it than hundreds of free video games. They probably haven’t collected 1/10000th of the data about me that Meta, Reddit, Google, etc have
Tomorrow is "Alone in the Dark"
The one from 92?
Man, you brought back some memories with that comment. As a kid I couldn’t figure out what to do.
I remember actually calling the gaming tip hotline to figure out how to get past the 2 Medusa statues about 5 minutes into the game.
I want to say that call cost about 7 bucks
I tried playing it last week and I could not figure out what to do, gg wp.
(And I do play older games like Resident Evil 1 on the PlayStation 1)
You and I!
There was a remake/reboot? last year
https://beebom.com/epic-games-holiday-free-games-2025/ This is my source. It's been right so far
Edit: Source has not been 100% correct. Sad.
They've clearly updated the list to pretend they were right all along but didn't bother re-reading the rest of the article, here's the obvious part:
The list shown here lacks either Division game, meaning the list was wrong at some point but they didn't correct the article

Edit: sorry, I got the wrong link, this website has been guessing multiple times what will release and got a different link, originally the list had Lego Batman as the game for today, then they updated the list which had The Division 2 as the game for today, both versions of the list are wrong
Edit 2: yeah, both lists are based on the "leaked" ones, we can stop pretending they have anything right
Damn, I should have noticed that Red Dead Redemption 2 is no longer on there. well, I fell for it. And now I'm sad.
I looked at that and the upcoming games list suspiciously looks like the second fake list that dropped after the RDR2 one. The only difference is that the games till today from that list has been replaced with the proper ones we got.

Don't know about that
"That’s right, the list contains some heavy hitters like The Division 2, Outer Wilds, Dying Light 2, and finally Batman: Arkham Collection"
No division in the list lol
Thanks, but I won't look because I like surprises.
It says the division 2 but what day?
If true, Dec 30, 31 is where it's at.
Good luck!
If true, I don't even need to come back until then.
Oh I hope it is right so I don't need to open the browser every day. Thanks.
But hope is just hope and to know you would be forced to check every day regardless ;-)
I’m praying this holds true. Everything after tomorrow is on my Steam wishlist. Other than the Arkham series, which I already own.
Are you sure it's not Commander Keen, like that one "leak" asserted? 🤣
Says who?
dang it
I’m guessing it’ll be S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2
If only
says who?
Hopefully tomorrow people won't complain about a free giveaway.
Never mind, not even a Christmas miracle can make that happen.
Hopefully it will be a good repeat I can get.
I would hope they'd make the Christmas Day giveaway something that wasn't previously given - several of the other recent giveaways weren't previously given and would have made fine Christmas Day finales.

Good bot.
We must have been extra naughty this year. Santa brought us coal again.
I tried to play this game 2 months ago
OMG, it is still so poorly optimized it was painful to run even with "optimized settings" and heavy upscaling
Just insane frame drops out of nowhere
Tf you mean? All the previous days you all were glazing how good those no name indie games are, now you're saying it's bad? Lol
Diabolical. Dude needs to go touch some grass
I'm sorry that the completely free game isn't up to your expectations.
Free or not, all games have their fair share of criticisms
Forgot we're now allowed to say anything on reddit that isn't obnoxiously positive.
Can't have differentiating opinions/discourse. Just be happy and consume
Why does it matter if a game is free if it isn’t worth my time?
Just because shit is free doesn’t mean you have to want it or be happy you got it.
Well, it might not be worth their time, but then why is it worth their time to state exactly that? What do they (or we, the readers) gain from that? Isn't it a way of complaining? But then, complaining about what? A free offer? That they are disappointed with? Not completely free, it requires their store if you want to be really nitipicky.
Then again the vast majority is DRM free. Not even Steam does that.
Do you pay for Epic Games?
Yeah for me only 2 good games this year's xmas giveaway (Bloodstained and Eternights), the rest is completly forgettable if not bad.
Let's hope that epic ups the numbers for the last 8 entries...
Not available in Japan
It's banned in Japan because the game "was too gory to pass the rating board". Cursed bureaucrats.
Dammit. Im on holiday in Tokyo.
Nowni need to VPN.
Yeah I was writing it.
All the more reason to sail the high seas.
Game is DRM Free!

True, I launched it via the exe
Can you please include a column for previously given? Your table gives really quick info at a glance
I'll add an asterisk. I cannot be arsed to redo the table.
Thanks appreciate you man!
Is there a place to find a full list of DRM free games on Epic? I have quite a few from giveaways and I'd be curious to see which ones are and aren't without installing and trying every single one.
Here's an autopopulated list on PC Gaming Wiki
I would hope there would be World war z and Ghostwire tokyo
I missed those when its free, or probably later when its free once a week
Did the free games for holidays change?

Missed it last time so apreciate it
Repeat of a meh AAA game.
I liked it.
I played it a month ago (was free from previous giveaway) and loved it.
Melee was repetitive but I enjoyed the close up gore. Gorgeous game.
This game looks awesome
It's not I assure you
shut up, just cause a game isn't a 10/10 doesn't make it bad you redditor. The game is a fine 7/10 and that's okay...
This is game is bad 100%
i really don't care. I have over 200 games owned on steam, but even i know that this game will be fun for the people out there wanting a free game, it is a tad short though considering its price but whatever
Can you tell us what's not awesome about it specifically?

Gotcha, thanks. It's been sitting in my library since the last giveaway and I want to give it a fair shake but I've heard a lot of meh things about it.
Even if your a dead space fan I still wouldn't recommend this game it has one good chapter 5 and everything else is miserable
Howlongtobeat has it at 10hrs for the campaign so I think if you can play it on 2-3 days you can beat it. Not too much of a time commitment. So sick of these 40+ hr games so I might give it a go too.
Very bland combat mainly
Someone on YouTube said it was bad.
As an old fan of Dead space I'm excited about this one. Thank you.
Didn’t get it last year so this is nice!
This game is a restock.
Epic Games Past Freebies
It looks like you can actually gift these to someone now even if you already own the game. Interesting idea.
I mean, you could also just send them the link to claim it themselves. Same difference I guess lol
I bet most of the people complaining about repeats didn't even play 10% of their free game library 😂
Continuing with the horror theme I see.
Thanks.
Yikes the DLC is quite expensive.
Great game but already given away 🥲 oh well
lol I didn't know we can do GIF PFPs.
Banned where I live, Japan. Luckily I use a VPN.
Epic went with horror for Christmas as this season's flair.
Yeah it’s a shame it’s a repeat but I honestly loved this game and it played so well on the steam deck
At least I don't have to fear to miss some.
https://i.redd.it/zjf9vswzd69g1.gif
God I have it on PS4 by PS+ monthly games and I recently bought it on disc for my XONE S for just 5$
I just hope that terraria is real. I really want terraria.
Typical feel-good-christmas-game
It's a duplicate game. :(
can I gift this if I already have it from the previous giveaway?
Isn't this that Dead Space at Home game with horrific performance issues?
Ye and comedic Punch-out 🥊 melee combat
So it's a repeat of a game with very poor reviews.
I guess Epic ran out of money after paying for Hogwarts Legacy.
Game is not as bad as everyone makes it seem. Enjoyed my time with it.
So that's why the storefront wouldn't even display the next "mystery game" on the home page.😏 Then again, by that logic, does seeing the aforesaid banner now suggest no region locks on tomorrow's item?
Doh own this one unfortunately for me!
Is the DLC for this game never on sale?
No, it definitely does go on sale. On Epic it's gone to $4.49 at 70% off.

You can check on SteamDB for steam price history, EGDATA for Epic price history, and Isthereanydeal for others.
Ok yeah this time the people complaining are right, but at least this is probably not yet the big game of this year
Oh that's amazing, I've always wanted to pl... I already own it and have not played a single minute of it
I enjoyed it, it wasn't like super great but not bad either ... If u see it as I see it, as a graphical somewhat short decent story with cool atmospheres and some decent melee combat.
Not available in Japan unfortunately.
have you tried vpn?
I would but i'm not subbed to one.
you can use free ones. I use Proton VPN. they both have mobile app and PC version. no subscription needed.
Not available in my account's region...
Is there a reason I can't see it? Is this regional? My page only says "free games" then takes me to page with Rocket League and Fortnite.
Dam missed it! 😫
Again with the same sh*t as last year?
I think GOG might give away Cyberpunk +/- its ultimate edition this year maybe since the base game has been available on psn premium for a while by now.
riot mode looks fun but looks like it's behind a dlc wall 😔
guys is this the big christmas gift game or will it be tomorrow?
IIRC they often actually give the "big" game away on the 31st.
Bummer. I mean free stuff is free stuff, but I missed claiming two games this giveaway and had hopes for Christmas one. Oh, well...
Most countries celebrate Christmas on the 25th afaik, although a fair bit in Europe do it on the 24th (and some on the 7th Jan). Ergo, tomorrow's game may be better?
I hope so. The game isn't really that bad and for people who missed it previously it's a good opportunity to get it.
thank you
Ok now this game is actually fr fr shit
I don't think this game is shit even though it's a repeat it's a decent game. I liked the other giveaways better but even if you do think it's shit you'll be getting a new game every day for the next 8 days, so that's 8 more chances to get games that you might not think is shit.
Avoid this game guys and thank me later one of the worst triple A games in the last 5 years
Saints Row, Mindseye and Concord are worse than Callisto, so dont exaggerate, the game is fine, nothing outstanding besides graphics, and nothing really bad to say about it
The melee combat is extremely boring to the point I'm shocked it made it past testing.
was saints row aaa, it never felt that big to me
All of these games had better gameplay than TCP
it's christmas eve where I live and this is the equivalent of Santa gifting me coal
great another shit repeat from the last year if they do not give red dead redemption this im gonna be fuckin hella mad free or not give us something you haven't already make it worth it or stop giving games at this point i would rather not get my hopes up
I find it hard to classify cover art of The Callisto Protocol as purple. Anyways. Can't win them all.
Lame, I mean I actually like the game (its very Dead Space, if you know how to hoard ammo) but its already been given and I've played it twice. :(
I wish I didn't have this already. It's a nice game to get for free.
you can play with me I'm online https://lichess.org/utoY9e6l
