I imagine a). Lego has an issue with it. They do seem hesitant to relate to the main game with guns, and might have issue if minifigures are around more realistic (comparatively) guns and violence and b). Epic doesn’t want to give free sidekicks. Everyone who gets skins often probably has quite a few Minifigures with them. And if they have those, they might not buy a sidekick since they have plenty already.
It’s not a hard rule, and especially loose when it comes to western which was one of their original themes. But generally speaking, especially nowadays, Lego avoids realistic guns. Look at Marvel and DC which prefer using space guns over the more realistic pieces (that do exist and are occasionally used). Similarly the Fortnite sets avoid any guns despite being a shooter. Again, not a hard rule, and even today you’ll find sets with guns, but the preference is sci fi stuff.
Even in game, look at skins who have guns on their skin. Their Lego versions don’t. For some examples, Domino’s holster is empty, Jinx doesn’t have Zapper, and Harley Quinn replaces her gun with a mini mallet.
There's a reason the ESRB has separate tags for "Fantasy Violence" and "Realistic/Extreme Violence". One of them is much more reminiscent of real life.

This is stupid, they added one of the ninjas in the lego pass as a skin
This. Epic is just to greedy to give that much free stuff specially given the amount of Lego styles a lot of skins have. That would render the 1500 v bucks side kicks from the shop worthless
It's going to take ages before they even just give people free sidekicks. Look at kicks, it took until the Daft Punk event for that to happen.
Plus, handing out sidekicks for free while also being a LEGO collab, they never would. If anything, they would sell a LEGO minifigure sidekick in the shop, and THEN let you use any skin you own on it.
Lego sets as backgblings and Lego characters as sidekicks, don't know why they haven't done this. Gives some insentive to actually get the set considering nobody really plays the lego mode
With the new content Lego Odyssey spiked upwards of 100K consecutive players. On average I can see in 30K as of now which isn't too bad for a less advertised mode
This would give so much more value to Lego related purchases such as the pass, hell even skins would increase in value by containing both a skin and a sidekick. That would probably push Epic to skyrocket their prices which would be inconvenient to them
I think it will happen, but no way it's free, they will allow you to pick a single minifigure of the ones you got and you can never change it unless you buy another slot
I 100% agree. Unfortunately for Epic they probably wouldn’t sell as many sidekicks if you suddenly had as many sidekicks as you did regular skins. So I would love to see this happen but unfortunately that’s probably a reason they wouldn’t do it
I wish I could, but I can't at the moment. There's a Fortnite gifting subreddit that you could post to where someone would be more than likely to offer gifting it to you.

Nothing says non-violence more than beating up people with sticks, swords, guns ECT.
and having your main partner be star wars
Star wars uses "blasters", sci fi guns
Lego is against realistic weapons
Meanwhile the Lone Ranger Lego sets: semi realistic looking six shooter

Is it considered greedy if people happily pay for it?
there’s literal canons in Lego fortnite. not to mention light sabers and other weapons lol

No they will sell you each character as a 1500 vbucks skin with locked appearances.
That’s not an awful compromise, imo.
...and the skin picker would be part of the appearance so you'd have to lock into it

COY
Lego won’t allow their content to appear in game modes that aren’t rated E10 or whatever the Lego mode is.
You can literally play as the Ninjago guys in all modes, though.
That’s a good point, but only as their human forms. Are there any Lego cosmetics that work in BR?
I'm pretty sure there isn't, but Lego did have an official Bastion skin in Overwatch 2 which is relatively bloody in comparison to Fortnite.
the lego traversal emote "Lil' Ducky Train" from earlier this year
And that thing is IMPORTANT to Lego too, since it’s their famous wooden duck from before they got into plastic
There are also Lego emblems that can be used on flags in BR
wasnt there a lego gun wrap or am I loony?
Nope
They will add "minifigure" sidekick for 1500vbuck that you can customize once with any minfig you have and it locks
Can't wait for 'lil bricky' 😅
That'd be too much value to stuff we own. Which is why, as this chapter has abundantly made clear, we won't get what you suggested.

Could u send me the link pls
Seeing a Lego Kimiko or Meow Skulls running around would bring me lots of joy
Very good, valid suggestion. Would make Lego relevant for all non Lego players
