I recently bought a house with 3 pieces of asbestos tape in the basement. All pieces are about 6 inches each. I attached photos.
One of the pieces is ripped pretty good and I was thinking about just removing it myself. I called a couple asbestos removal companies around me and they all have a high minimum payment fee of about $750 and I just can’t really see a reason to pay that much for this tiny amount of tape.
The other two pieces of tape I think may be able to be encapsulated. But I wanted to know the best route if anyone has any advice for me.

Removal rules are based off of disturbance and not quantity. If the tape is damaged or disturbed, then it's higher risk. It also usually requires some type of approved waste handling.
This is why you're being quoted $750 to remove
If you want to encapsulate, you just seal it in place and use asbestos encapsulant. Buy bag shield and hang over the area by the ceiling to cordon off the area, wear your mask, wear gloves
Saturate the tape with water to prevent it getting airborne, then scrape it off. Wear a respirator mask and eye protection.
We paid for a company to remove asbestos and they did a mostly good job, but left large chunks around our crawl space that we ended up having to clean up ourselves. There is nothing magic about what they are doing, just manual labor and you'll do a more thorough job yourself.
