Poor Sothis, arguably one of the worst mythic units in the game all because of that long ago bias against distant counter units.
That Fallen Dimitri merge and skill update though? Very juicy.
Those Who Slither In The Dark, spoilers for Three Houses below
The Villains of Three Houses and the ones responsible for pretty much EVERYTHING that has ever gone wrong in Fodlan
Their whole Civilization had a feud with Sothis and her people, after losing the war and almost all their people in the process they used Nemesis and his group to kill Sothis and her Children while they were sleeping after the whole ordeal
So because of these spoilers and the fact that Sothis has been treated SO poorly in FEH, there have been jokes that TWSITD are working at IS and actively sabotaging her
The price of popularity (and therefore, a majority that preferred to get the lineup sooner than later), I'm afraid. It's happened before, and this will not be the last; it's just the way it is when you put a popular lineup on a poll, annoying as it can be.
I like the cut of the lion's jib, how's yall guess. (And for those of you understandably averse to the recent TT+ unit changes, know that money talks and hoping ya'll got / saved your Forma Souls beforehand if you're going on a FEH pack diet).
As usual, do let your thoughts on skill choices, formatting, and other things be known!
Besides pair up I have most of these skills on sothis right now I'm just running comet + harmonic Ike build until pairup shows. Really brutal and comet are the only take aways until it shows.
Had conjuring breath on her for a bit didn't like it.
Very funny build name for Sothis haha. I know mythic Adult Sothis from Fortune’s Weave is gonna hit this game like a truck, but I’m still thinking about investing in normal Sothis, for old times’ sake.
Oh, I don't know if I've run into any of those b skills yet but was I stupid for trying to give Sothis Patience? I haven't really seen people talk about using it on her and I'm worried... And I thought it could be really good for defense
This is what I ended up going with for Fallen Dimitri. I like Potent Assault but I decided to stick with Execution Breath and use Potent in the Seal when I get him. I never considered the Atk/Spd Hexedge + Pair Up combo though. How does that compare to this current build? (So many skills to pick from 😭)
Pretty proximity / team reliant; Hexedge requires being three spaces near a magic, staff, or dragon teammate (not hard but sometimes people get careless and forget to pack those), and Pair Up also basically requires Dimitri keeping a similar three space leash to work -- which is also sometimes restrictive considering increase mov C skills and Dimitri sometimes needing to get out far and kill. Current setup (with or without Potent Finish) is what I'd probably personally run for decent DR + true damage combo and relative movement freedom, so you got a good thing going there; Hexedge is mostly slightly more stats going around (thanks to Anathema) and a bit more true damage, though you could argue you're getting a lot of that already through weapon and B slot.
Hm, difficult call. Sharena kinda gives her three slots she wants in one go and if it's mostly just a C slot switch and a possible B-slot alternative, I'd lean on perhaps not and wait for Atk/Spd Liberate to become a thing.
Bummer that v10.0 skills aren't available. I'm mostly interested in Bernie, and Logic is just better than Magic Light. The available C skills are very good, but I really like Atk/Res Liberate.
Bernadetta probably feels the sting of age; Paranoia is still a great status that has gotten better thanks to Ike and Vali, but she really provides little else of modern competitiveness and faces a lot of stiff competition for 'brings one buff' mage cavalry slot, like Brave Sharena, Teatime Veronica, etc. who can package more utility. Great for Paranoia still and can use support skills well but gets harder to justify her slot in teams especially as Hardy Bearing users rise to check Patience.
Dimitri is still fantastic for Light season, though Elm is still better for Astra. Does have some competition in Rearmed Leila but his ability to expose backliners makes him a great pairing with Emblem Lyn.
Likely true; I'll admit I mostly zeroed in on Comet on my end there as Sothis's statline isn't generally a real comfortable match with the current dedicated Dragon Specials, really.
I'm thinking about going the offensive route for Sothis with distant blow, edged scales/laguz loyalty or maybe even conjuring breath, brutal tempest. Feels like it could be more fun but not sure if she's really made for that...
That's pretty much a recommended loadout already (assuming you meant Duelist's Blow instead of Distant), so, more than fine there since it's a pretty stable, high-mobility set that works with E!Eirika or E!Edelgard; don't go Laguz Loyalty for aggro though, that kinda pushes Sothis more to enemy phase. If you wanna go a bit more out of the dragon duelist box:
AOE Momentum: Arcane Fell Arts (since Outburst doesn't have AOE damage) + whatever Blazing skill you fancy + Sly Swift Sparrow + Momentum + Brutal Tempest or Pulse Edge or Pulse Up Blades + whatever X skill substitutes a C slot effect (Time's Pulse vs Sly vs TTempest), optionally pair with Marth Ring, Favor, or whatever it takes to get that AOE down.
Oh yeah I meant duelist lol, it's true these are all recommended skills but I feel like the ones that give more damage reduction (pair up/faith) are gonna be picked more often... That aoe build also seems pretty fun!
I would not recommend a Twin Save skill with Comet because it's not a "Once per combat" type of Special. If a Briar Save skill isn't going to be picked up, Higher/Lower Ground should be recommended instead
No NFU Echo skill so that kinda narrows down your options there lol
Somewhat depends on final setup; list skills you're going with to see if Dimi prefers a specific Echo in your case (likely Time's Pulse, Lull, or Tempo Echo). If you're just going with one for spoiling him, I'd go with the Asset unit you chained more useful skills on and can afford to lose one copy of; but again, run by a build idea to save resources.
this is a dumb, non-skill question, but you wouldn't happen to know why fallen claude isn't a thing, would you? i haven't played 3h so im not familiar with the lore but i was under the impression that the the lords are meant to be a trio..?
From what I remember from playing the game when it came out, the story doesn't have any Fallen Claude. That's it. Dimitri and Edelgard have a fallen version ingame, and the warriors style game features the fallen Byleth.
But there is no point in any of the history paths where Claude is in a "fallen" state. He's a pretty chill guy either as ally or foe.
Edit: forgot to mention he is my fave 3H lord, so I would love they make up some fallen version for him.
they should give him an alt to go with the fallen alts that's "Just Claude". "Well-Adjusted" Claude. "Man Who Goes To Therapy" Claude. "Punchin' Racists" Claude. give them all a forging bonds slot and everyone there is like "I live for the slaughter" except Claude who is like "what if we just had tea instead".
alternatively, if they wanted to take it more seriously, I suppose they could've given him a !"Prince of Almyra"!alt. obviously it wouldn't be "fallen" by any means, but it is one of the major things that sets him apart from the other lords.
You can roll with that and come out more than fine unless you decide to go pure true damage or lean more DR later on; this one provides a steady mix of both while getting some nice perks from Execution Breath (which provides easier Comet charging to sub in for the jump from Archrival, Fatal Smoke effects without dedicating the C slot to that, etc).
Both are pretty fresh 2025 skills, so one of them is bound to pop up in Stratum 25 with within a week and a few torches. Take one of the alternatives (+ Speedtaker and maybe Momentum) just in case though
Hmmm, you probably already have Faith from that same Ryoma then, so that one's off.
Odd Spd Wave, Fatal Smoke 4, Pulse Up: Blades, Times Pulse Edge, or Creation Pulse should do just fine then depending on preferences / skillset/matchup specific needs; the Pulses pretty much homogenize depending what conditions you can confidently fill in.
I'd wager it's as simple as the standard listed mixed/enemy phase skills with Patience and enough out-of-kit investment to be at least 30+ visible Spd (so, Dragonflowers, Sacred Seal, summoner support if you like her that much). I wouldn't go too hard into that outside of the Patience Potent minimum due to diminishing returns.
I've already got an F!Dimitri built with Haze Slice, Atk/Spd Excel, Potent Finish and Pulse Tempest F (thank you for your sacrifice Summer Lapis) so I've gone for the following to give him some updated options for the near future. I'll probably end up swapping Execution Breath for Potent Finish and running that along with Emblem Lyn support and Edelgard ring so he gets two combats to kill every last one of them
u/CoolestMagicalCat it might be helpful to note on the infographic that Fatal Smoke 4 is a v7.11 skill (won't show up in chamber 25). I blew ALL my torches trying to get it on Bernie in chamber 25, thinking I just had the worst luck. Then I figured out what was going on.
Just want to try to prevent others from doing what I did. Lesson learned the hard way: double-check skill versions before assuming I just have extremely bad luck.
Repo Gait
Archrival
Hexedge
Favour
Pulse On: Blades
I'm thinking how to best proceed from here. I'm wondering if it's worth inheriting A!Ryoma's attuned skill for mobility (freeing the C slot)? Is it also worth using the Favour skill with the Micaiah ring? I love the the support + damage hybrid, but was wondering if Excecution breath + Edelgard ring is better.
Also thinking if Comet is better than Archrival due to the gradual charging (handy alongside the favour skill) for a consistent special activation. If I do got for this, I'm also thinking of swapping Pulse On: Blades, as I'm not sure how consistent the special charge is due to Archrival/Comet being so high cost (plus not running NFU makes Pulse up inconsistent)?
At your point, I think it's pretty much a case of choosing and just really locking in to a playstyle; support vs nuking, really. Note that Favor doesn't necessitate the Micaiah ring, but just pushes Dimitri there as you can run other units that are either running the Miccy ring or have an extra action assist of their own. For pure funny damage numbers, yeah, people are gonna be more enamored to the other combo. Basically if you see yourself using Dimitri where he typically isn't one of the centerpiece attackers (like being the Undefended provider for the first few turns on AR-O), I'd consider sticking with Favor; else, standard nuke setup's all great.
I also wasn't really one for Pulse On Blades when writing this as I imagined the Camp No-Follow-Up people would have words on that; if anything. Creation Pulse is actually a bit more consistent with Dimitri's self-provided Panic and Undefended penalty statuses if Special Jump's your goal. If conditions are optimal, Comet should get charged in as little as one turn with it. Alternatively, you could consider Time's Pulse Echo similarly if you got that -- but again just really count where you're getting your charges / movement buffs.
You make a great point about deciding between support or raw damage. I suppose I do already have a few Favor users in mind/currently using (L!Chrom, Askr, H!Ranulf) due to loving the playstyle.
Creation Pulse is a very good idea, as he could get all 4 charges for Archrival for his 1st attack. Running Execution breath also feels like a great fit for this 1-shot setup.
I'm currently in the Shape Your Forma screen for Dimitri and a skill called Firm Canto Curb caught my eye. I dont see it mentioned anywhere as a recommended option for him but it seems like a very good support option? Especially with all the Foresight Snare stuff going on. And Canto Control is always nice I guess? It will take away all of his extra movement from Brutal Tempest, so it really is a choice between making him a full support unit or a nuke?
I have Atk/Spd favor on him as well which is also support, but I can also put Execution Breath on him right now, which is more nuke-y. What do? Is Firm Canto Control even a good option?
In theory, it sounds decent for dedicated AR-D Dimitri and if Canto Curb isn't handled by someone else in hardcore SD. It's definitely a more specialized use than the other listed options (which are more offensive/general use, and Canto Curb definitely isn't a popular general gameplay or AR-O choosing).
Also, if the main goal is to cheat past Foresight Snare, note that Canto Curb specifically stops "after start-of-turn skills trigger, action ends immediately", and Foresight Snare is a mid-turn effect and won't work on that. Also, dedicated thread/video on that.
Poor Sothis, arguably one of the worst mythic units in the game all because of that long ago bias against distant counter units. That Fallen Dimitri merge and skill update though? Very juicy.
I don't think that argument stands when she and Brave Dimitri got their Refines at the SAME TIME
TWSITD work at IS and have been doing everything they can to sabotage her
No other explanation as to why both her Refines were ugh and the Halloween version was pretty much DOA
I’m torn as I kinda want to give my W! Sothis Vanitas weapon.
But yes death to TWSITD!
What or who is TWSITD?

I think you mean Potent Finish (it's not like Dima can actually inherit Flow Refresh anyway kek)

The kit of Bernie is basically Brave Sharena? I have a Bernie with her kit, is it worth going for her forma but only for the C skill?

Dragon Ice is better than Dragon’s Roar on Sothis, IMO.
Even a max invested Sothis doesn’t have enough res to meet the res check for Dragon’s Roar reliably.
Likely true; I'll admit I mostly zeroed in on Comet on my end there as Sothis's statline isn't generally a real comfortable match with the current dedicated Dragon Specials, really.
I'm in doubt with Hexedge, Sly sparrow and Duelists.
Full damage with restriction, full damage without restriction, or survivability and no true damage.
I'm thinking about going the offensive route for Sothis with distant blow, edged scales/laguz loyalty or maybe even conjuring breath, brutal tempest. Feels like it could be more fun but not sure if she's really made for that...

I would not recommend a Twin Save skill with Comet because it's not a "Once per combat" type of Special. If a Briar Save skill isn't going to be picked up, Higher/Lower Ground should be recommended instead
If I go with your build for F Dimitri, what would be the best X skill for him? Tempo or NFU?
Couple things:
Hmmmm Dimitri may still be usable... I'm intrigued

I’ve got Comet, Duelist’s Blow, and Execution Breath at the moment. Are those better than Archrival, Hexedge, and Potent Finish respectively?

For dimitri’s B skill: do I need to keep doing chamber 25 or chamber 24 for execution breath / potent assault?
Both are pretty fresh 2025 skills, so one of them is bound to pop up in Stratum 25 with within a week and a few torches. Take one of the alternatives (+ Speedtaker and maybe Momentum) just in case though
I got both of those in chamber 25
Here’s a question… if I’ve had Dimitri inherit Tumultuous Echo from the single copy of A!Ryoma I have, what would be the best C skill for him then?
Hmmm, you probably already have Faith from that same Ryoma then, so that one's off.
Odd Spd Wave, Fatal Smoke 4, Pulse Up: Blades, Times Pulse Edge, or Creation Pulse should do just fine then depending on preferences / skillset/matchup specific needs; the Pulses pretty much homogenize depending what conditions you can confidently fill in.
What's the best speed build for F!Edelgard? I want to try something. :) (I already have a recently optimized build for F!Edelgard)
