Nintendo just shadowdropped PoR in Gamecube Classics for Switch 2, you need the Expansion Pack version to play. Also added PoR music to the Nintendo Music app

I have tried that and has everything ready to go, but there's some disconnect now between me and pc emulators where I just can't seem to stay wanting to play if its emulated on PC or even my phone. I need some sort of hardware that isn't just my ps5 controller to get my brain to go "ok we're playing this game now"
There are plenty of Android based handhelds that can run Dolphin. The AYN Odin 2, Retroid Pocket 6, Flip 2, AYN Thor, Anbernic RG 557 and 477M just to name a few.

If you purchase it then it's yours forever and you have no need to pay them a subscription every month to have access to it. Them not offering the option for you to directly purchase it is being greedy.
There will always be people who want convenience or cheaper, in fact they are the majority now. But people who want to buy, just don’t spend the money. How does that help their greed? But if they provide both options, then both types of people pay.

It’s a business metric for investors. Recurring revenue is better than one off purchases. Think about all the people who have GamePass for one game and forget to cancel it, those people make up the “lost” revenue of people who want to just buy it once and don’t get the subscription
people hated that you had to buy them because guess what, during the wii, wii u, and 3ds days your virtual console purchases didn't transfer to new consoles.
meaning that if 1 virtual console game was on all 3 consoles, you had to buy it 3 seperate times if you wanted to play it on all 3 consoles.

Its a bit complicated- Wii can play Gamecube games because all the tech to effectively be a Gamecube is built-in to the Wii hardware, so its not emulating; it IS a bona-fide misshapen Gamecube as far as the hardware is concerned.
Switch doesn't have this same native hardware and so it must rely on emulating, meaning it must run being a Nintendo Switch running an entire Gamecube. That's a WAY larger ask than what the Wii had. Its the same reason the Gameboy Player as well as the DS and even 3DS could natively play GBA games- every piece of tech the original system might need is in the thing already so it all checks out.
Again, its not that simple. Its not either numbers are big and it can or they're small and its not. Remember, to emulate, it needs to run what it already has AND emulating the thing in question to pull it off.
Every emulator you've ever used in your life had to be your something also running that system (Like say a phone also running an N64 inside it). In this case, its running being a Switch that is running a Gamecube at the same time. Emulation takes a LOT more power than natively running a system. The Switch 1 is using that hardware simply being a Switch, and it doesn't stop using it for that when you try to make it be a Gamecube as well.
im not convinced its that difficult to emulate a gc game on the switch 2 when my phone can do it.
they likely base the release schedule based on stuff like wanting to increase subscriptions or marketing for the next game. they probably already have radiant dawn ready but arent releasing right away due to the aforementioned reasons.
On Switch 2? Not at all a problem. On Switch 1? You overestimate the 8 year old hardware that has at best had a minor tech upgrade in the OLED. Ask anyone proficient in emulation, they will tell you the Switch 1 can NOT emulate it worth a damn. The best they could do is make a port (a la Mario Sunshine and Galaxy).
That's why Gamecube Switch Online is exclusive to the 2, as well as why N64 emulation cannot rewind to previous points but it can on the 2. Switch 1 was kind of weak hardware on release, and its been 8 years since then
Well, it's a bit different tho. The Wii processor is the same infastructure / type as the Gamecube, just upgraded. It doesn't emulate GC game, it run the game directly.
Switch however have completely different hardware, so they need the help of an emulating software if they want to run GC games, this is more resource heavy.
I remember when they didn’t add anything to Nintendo Music on Monday, and added Sacred Stones icons to the NSO app on Switch, I told my friends, “Watch, they’ll add Path of Radiance to NSO/Nintendo Music this week.”
I remember people saying that something (probably people checking Nintendo Today data) had leaked that Path of Radiance music was coming soon to the Nintendo Music app, but the fact it was delayed also confirmed that this had to mean something, an annoucement, and PoR getting into the NSO it's huge even if it's a small update.
I wouldn't really say it's a shadow drop. I know they advertised that at least once but that was months ago so I expected it to have already been out by now.
They actually have a trailer for in Japan, so I don't understand why they delayed internationally. But I will say this. If they do not show a trailer in the next several days, then they are only wasting my time.
Amusingly, I happened to open Nintendo Today a few minutes after its announcement and was freaking out since I hadn't seen anyone else talk about it yet. Super happy I finally will be able to play this game.
Now it will be Oliver's time to steal CYL away from his uglier contemporaries. New players will be able to truly see him in all His splendor, and will repent their poor choices this past decade, as they will see His light and right their wrong. And thus, FEH will become a more beautiful game with twice the Oliver
I saw it when I opened FEH today, they're advertising it there too.
And I'm quite excited. It's been many, many years since I played the original for the old Cube (I still have the game lying around at home). I'll be happy to play it again, since it's still one of my faves in the series.

A very common misconception, I never played PoR and RD
The only game I played were three houses, engage, blazing sword and sacred stones (these last 2 I played in the last month)

Buying isn’t recurring revenue and that’s the most important metric to businesses. It’s dumb and I hate it, but that’s your reason unfortunately

A 2017 Switch is definitely powerful enough to run a Gamecube emulator. The Switch 1 had 197 GFLOPS undocked. The Gamecube? 9.4.

It wasn't delayed internationally. You can play it right now but you have to manually update the GC app by pressing + on it and hitting update.
They sent PR out for it, the trailer will probably be out tomorrow.
