There's actually 2, OP. There's a second one even more well camouflaged up the top right.

I recall the first time I picked up a blue ringed octopus I had no idea what it was because a) it was brown, b) it was literally half the size I thought they were and c) I had no idea they lived as far south as where I found it

They aren't usually seen where I live, it's a whole thing to have them around here over Xmas. I think I see what you're talking about, pretty sure that part was not underwater at that point. But I guess he could have been chilling. The tide was still on its way out.

About 1.5" to the right and 1" up from the bottom. He is under the out of place brownish yellow piece of.... kelp? Also, do not touch a blue-ringed octopus. Yes, they're small, but also deadly! There is no cure or anti-venom. One sting delivers enough poison to kill several people. Thank you class, this will not be on your next exam. 😜
