Saw this in our relatives' house. Apparently may gold and pointed ornament pa daw sana siya sa tuktok. Ano po tawag dun sa pointed thing in top ng salakot?
The Chinese acquired rice and paddy-field technology from them. And probably also related technologies like conical hats, water buffaloes, domesticated chickens and ducks, "dragon boats", stilt houses, and other things.
We, on the other hand, descended from them. We had these hats before them.

Meron rin sa Bibliotecca Nacional sa España, puro silber din
yeah thats how beautiful salakots used to be
Indeed, so much variety.
Also the White Bronze Tipped Salakots of the Filipino Imperial Spanish Uniform is sooo Beautiful... We should bring those back
The last time I wore a salakot in QC (woven in Camiguin), I was asked if I was Vietnamese.
Yeah we all have hat weaving cultures here in SE Asia that we all got from China...
Anong from China ka dyan. Conical hats are near universal among rice-farming cultures.
Rice was first farmed by the Pre-Austronesians and other Southeast Asian groups of mainland southeastern China, before the region was invaded by the Han Dynasty.
The Chinese acquired rice and paddy-field technology from them. And probably also related technologies like conical hats, water buffaloes, domesticated chickens and ducks, "dragon boats", stilt houses, and other things.

So the other way around??? Ok, either way would explain why many hats are the same in style between modern China and Soitheast Asia
