Has anyone else seen the same picture but with a wizard’s hat on the dog’s head and he says “not too fond of warlocks?” It’s so stupid but idk it makes me laugh every time
He is the reason I tried to create a slur for white people worthy of beign called the white n-word, the best I got was whitea$$ which I can say because I'm white. Also all in good spirit, or at least the most good spirit you can get with dealing with slurs.
Tobirama's "racism" is just a fan meme and not really a part of the story. The Uchiha he hated were the ones actively at war with him or said they were going to destroy the village.
And it wasn't like a self-fulfilling prophecy or anything, he was right. It exacerbated the situation to be sure, but there was always a subsection of Uchiha villagers who never moved on from before Konoha.
What about the people who were techincally members of NSDAP (because back than you had to be, to have any sort of career like lawyer or doctor), but secretly helped hiding and smugging jewish people out of germany?
I feel like he’s the biggest victim of the “we made the villain have too much of a point so now they have to do something irredeemable so the audience doesn’t side with them” trope that I’m aware of tbh
No with magneto it's basically the opposite he started off irredeemable and with no real agenda until Chris Claremont basically completely reworked him and Xavier. But comic books still need villains so magneto keeps doing evil stuff. But also he's really slowed down on it more and more post the 90s and onslaught
Oh interesting, This is honestly why I rarely read comics a character I love can be a completely different person depending on if the author bothered to read previous versions or if the author just personally decides they don’t like the way a character was
People seem to forget, the difference between Charles and Magneto was not “Charles is the pacifist revolutionary and magneto the one who gets his hands dirty to get equality” (the x-men is not a pacifist group, is a para militaristic force) the difference is:
“Charles believes humans and mutants will be able to coexist one day”
“Magneto believes humans and mutants are incapable to ever coexist and one is fated to be eliminated by the other so he wants to exterminate humanity”
The difference is not a matter of “they differ on how to achieve equality” the difference is “Charles actually believes in equality as a goal and magneto doesn’t”.
This! Barring more current incarnations their battle has always been "the inevitable (bloody) march towards peace" vs "peace was never an option".
Not pacifistic resistance on Charles part at all.
Ah. Honestly Im kinda like Cartman: I can dish it, but i cannot take it. Biggest difference is I dont go out of my way to be an insufferable douchebag.
But Cartman isn't thick skinned. He just doesn't realize that people actually hate him. There was an episode where you watch some situations out of his perspective and they played out very different than in reality.
cartman is bigoted against EVERYBODY. every single group ever, minority and majority alike. therefore he kinda "horseshoe theory"s his way out of being super hated and ends up being beloved by most minorities in the fandom.
The patient in that episode is a 15 year old intersex girl who works as a model and was raped by her father (her manager), and instead of the shocking reveal being the fact that she was raped, the "reveal" is that her father is "gay" because she is intersex. Which is already so???
Also, while women are often objectified by House in the show, it's so much more distasteful in that episode. It's hard to explain to someone who hasn't seen the show, but there was another instance where House was hit on by / attracted to an underage patient and that time he handled the situation by repeatedly declining and making jokes about it. In this episode he just talks about his patient's boobs like 24/7 and comes off like a giant creep.
So yeah, the biggest problem for me personally is that House feels incredibly out of character in that episode. Usually he's all about snark and witty remarks, but in that episode he's just being an asshole for no reason (inappropriate objectifying comments towards an underage girl, misgendering, etc.)
My Dad show me that video of him saying all of these things holy smokes. I learn from my dad that the actor of that character was in the military as a sergeant for a good while. That explains the good acting.
He was a military advisor and auditioned for the role by being filmed shouting at the camera for 15 mins straight without repeating himself, while also being pelted with oranges.
R. Lee Ermey, pretty sure he only played Sergeants or Sherrifs his whole career and why not, dude was perfect for it
Ah nice! I agree he's perfect for the role lol. I was trying to remember if he was a sergeant or a different role in his military career. The audition sounds really funny I couldn't pass it.
He is a "pilar man", an ancient species that doesn't age and thanks to some ancient artifact shenanigans can create human/pilar man hybrids, known as vampires.
She's not racist. She just believes that those dirty flies have no right to exist and she's glad they all live in a prison where they belong. Unfortunately her genocide attempt failed
The English translation toned her down a bit to only racial profiling and making fun of somebody for his culture being wiped out and sold into sex slavery instead of using real world racial slurs against him.
I'm not familiar with this character but this joke does remind of that one Steven Universe fandom joke where people say Pearl HATES the Irish despite absolutely no canon evidence suggesting she does
Definitely. He's the worst! But... he's so damn likeable, too? Man, do I enjoy every minute he's on screen. He's got a great personality and sense of humor
In the movie dub, when Denji is thinking about all of the girls and imagining them in lingerie, he says something along the lines of “Power is hot, but she’s also a racist”
Japan apparently adores Joseph Joestar, despite the fact that he's an American from the age of WWII who hates the Japanese because of the war, his daughter married one, and his first intro in 'JoJo Bizarre Adventures: Stardust Crusaders' is hitting an airport staff guy and screaming: "I'll never forgive the Japanese!".
I was under the impression that he hated Japanese people solely because Holy moved to Japan, thus depriving him of his precious baby girl's proximity, thus adding comedy to his bigotry.
People probably remember more how racist his brother was, but at the beginning of the show he was pretty racist too, at one point even calling Glenn a slur. Despite this, the character was so beloved he survived all the way to the end and now has a spin-off show.
Heather is such a racist, but the fandom loves her (me included). With Duncan most ppl in the fandom hate him but I feel I should mention him anyway. It's been a while since I've watched the show but from what i remember he's kind of sexist and he'd prob be homophobic in the current day.
The fact that he's so low down in the replies sickens me. He's the first character I thought of (partially because I, every shade of queer you'd expect to enjoy hazbin hotel, have cosplayed him I love him so much)

Mayo monkey is one I’ve heard thrown around a bit.
Thats not a good slur, it doesn't really do anything other than comment on the skin color.
But so does the n word. It came from the Spanish word for black and overtime evolved into the form we all know and hate.
Noice
Smurt
Cool cool coolcoolcoolcool
Blanko. Derived from the spanish word for white. Now it's up to you to give it meaning.
Cracker

I was actually going to put him (and Tobirama) as an example in the next slide, but... There aren't exactly any Saiyans irl

Also John Rabe, the nazi who saved tons of chinese during the Nanjing massacre
Magneto
People seem to forget the man despises all non-mutants
To the point of genocide in most timelines.
Oh interesting, This is honestly why I rarely read comics a character I love can be a completely different person depending on if the author bothered to read previous versions or if the author just personally decides they don’t like the way a character was
Yup. Magneto and Poison Ivy are basically the reverse of the "We basically made the villain too reasonable, quick make them do something crazy." Trope
Magneto started off as a literal mutant-supremacist.
Poison Ivy started off as a crazy eco-terrorist lady.
Nowadays both of them seem reasonable as fuck so Marvel and DC reworked them into anti-heroes.
oh no
Which is Ironic considering his backstory as a holocaust survivor.
That is kinda the whole point
People seem to forget, the difference between Charles and Magneto was not “Charles is the pacifist revolutionary and magneto the one who gets his hands dirty to get equality” (the x-men is not a pacifist group, is a para militaristic force) the difference is:

Eric Cartman
Have a transgender friend that identifies with Eric Cartman so much.
Weird considering he is so offensive to almost every group.
Trans people can be edgelords just like cis people
I never said that. I only thought it was weird because normally people dont like assholes.
His skin is as thick as leather. You could insult him all day and all he’d do is laugh at you
Ah. Honestly Im kinda like Cartman: I can dish it, but i cannot take it. Biggest difference is I dont go out of my way to be an insufferable douchebag.
I'm the opposite, I can take it but if I accidentally make someone sad I cry
But Cartman isn't thick skinned. He just doesn't realize that people actually hate him. There was an episode where you watch some situations out of his perspective and they played out very different than in reality.
No that's the entire point of him. It's not almost every, it is EVERY GROUP

Take one step into the queer zoomer side of the South Park fandom and you will see a trans POC calling Cartman their son
Tbf, Cartman may be a really nasty piece of shit...
But he's absolutely fucking hilarious
Yes, as a Mexican Queer woman, I love my stupid bratty bigot son.
cartman is bigoted against EVERYBODY. every single group ever, minority and majority alike. therefore he kinda "horseshoe theory"s his way out of being super hated and ends up being beloved by most minorities in the fandom.
I guess its because he hates every minority
It doesn’t matter how discriminated you are, he’ll just discriminate harder

the thing about house though, is that he hates anyone and everyone equally. so no discrimination because everyone is treated the same
true and that's why he's the goat (except in that one episode) (fuck skin deep)
What did he do
The patient in that episode is a 15 year old intersex girl who works as a model and was raped by her father (her manager), and instead of the shocking reveal being the fact that she was raped, the "reveal" is that her father is "gay" because she is intersex. Which is already so???

2 CEOs of racism
CEO and COO of Racism
“Well, I’m black now, so the first thing I did was quit all my jobs”
The inventor of friendly-fire himself
Power from CSM
hell yeah Eric Shartman is hilarious
Says a lot of slurs, but is pretty believable when he says they're all equally worthless and who doesn't love this performance
Does he really discriminate or does he hate everyone equally?
"I do not look down on Ni**ers, Kikes, Wops or Greasers, here you are all equally worthless"
Mixed messages really
Well it does take place in the sixties, he was practically a beacon of equality with that statement.
My Dad show me that video of him saying all of these things holy smokes. I learn from my dad that the actor of that character was in the military as a sergeant for a good while. That explains the good acting.

Technically he discriminates every human
Does that really count as discrimination though? If you hate everyone, you're not technically discriminating
He likes every living being but humans
That counts then. As long as he's not human himself
He is a "pilar man", an ancient species that doesn't age and thanks to some ancient artifact shenanigans can create human/pilar man hybrids, known as vampires.

It's largely just a really niche inside joke within the fandom, but still
She was pretty racist to Aventurine tho
Sunday too
Yep, Chicken wing boy lol
Who?
This is Sparkle from the turn based Gacha game "Honkai Star Rail", and some of us like to headcanon her to be racist or homophobic, or both lol
The English translation toned her down a bit to only racial profiling and making fun of somebody for his culture being wiped out and sold into sex slavery instead of using real world racial slurs against him.
Apparently she called Aventurine an actual chinese gypsy slur in penacony lol
Exactly. Though FYI, gypsy itself is a slur for the Romani people.
I'm not familiar with this character but this joke does remind of that one Steven Universe fandom joke where people say Pearl HATES the Irish despite absolutely no canon evidence suggesting she does

Scrolled too far for this
She hates all humans, but the humans love her
And in the mange she's straight up racist
I haven't seen JoJo's yet, but wasn't Josuke supposed to be his illegitimate son with a Japanese woman?
It adds to the irony.
Does it count if the character at some point grows and stops being discriminatory? Because if it does then Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead.
