I've been looking for some news about this one for some months, since the author posted an instagram story teasing book 3, and here it is! Coming out September 15th!

  • I'm actually kind of shocked by this. I think the second book took her 8 years to write, so I thought book 3 would come out closer to the end of the decade. This is amazing news!

  • I didn’t love the second book. It felt a bit aimless but I guess I’ll give this a go for completion sake.

I loved it! The Jinni’s project, Chava’s new job… Lots of great stuff there. Can’t wait for book three

  • Oh dang, I wasn't even expecting a third book. What a nice surprise!

  • Definitely will read this but my excitement is quite tempered by mixed feelings about the second (whose name I can't even bring to mind atm). To make a comparison between two books I loved: Golem and the Jinni and Nicola Griffith's Hild. Whereas Wecker's highly anticipated sequel was underwhelming, Griffith's Menewood was grippingly excellent, and if the next book in that sequence appeared same time as Wecker's book 3 I'd be all over the former with a day one buy and read. Hopefully when I get to it Wecker's new book exceeds my expectations based on her previous sequel. Fingers crossed.

Dang, I've been meaning to read Hild for years now.

Very different from Golem, just using it as a personal example of another loved book that got the sequel right. But recommended for sure.

Yeah, I imagine, you just reminded me about another series I wanted to check out :)
