The FBI began using the 10mm Auto cartridge after 9mm Parabellum’s underperformance in the 1986 FBI Miami shootout.
But due to issues with recoil and feedback from agents, as well as wanting to fit existing handgun frames, they commissioned Smith & Wesson to make a shortened version of 10mm, the .40 S&W.
So, an elderly man who uses a cane would have significant difficulty controlling a 10mm Auto pistol for follow up shots. Even one as heavy as Fallout 10mm pistols would be.
an old man who’s been with the brotherhood for how long? he owns a pistol and knows how to shoot it but thats about it. he doesn’t know how to aim properly or how to hold it properly.
they made him so laughably bad that its sad that this is one of the leaders of a brotherhood chapter. its honestly insulting.
i forgot to grab the thing that protects you from the psychic stuff before the master and the resulting loss of perception had me see chances in the negatives and it was hilarious. lowest i saw was like -33 or something like that
i couldn’t see the emoji in the last line and it made me think you said 1 per would make you occasionally whack yourself in the face when you bring your pipboy up
that would actually be an interesting explanation, as in result of feeling thrown aside for not being smart/being the muscle, knights and paladins would just drown themselves in ignorance out of pride
You forget Maximus has a bunch of luck on his stats
I hope theres a scene where the casinos reopen and maximus just wins every single hand of blackjack to confirm this 10 luck theory
I'd love if an episode featuring him could end with some crazy dumb event, a cut to black, and followed by this sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lzaa1EG14XQ&t=10s
i got king ace 3 times in a row in the sierra madre casino
10 Luck, 8 Endurance, -5 Charisma and Idiot Savant
Definitely idiot savant and mysterious stranger
I wanna know the Enclave scientist's stats when he ran past that sentry gun at 10ft range.
IIRC that was a nod to bugged turrets in Fallout 1 or 2, unrelated to character stats.
If that’s true that’s amazing idk they were goin that deep with the Easter eggs
It is used to explain alot
He's an old man firing a pistol one-handed in a fit of rage, give him a break.
He’s also shaking 24/7
He’s either an addict, in pain, going through withdrawals, or he’s a cannibal. Of course there’s probably more possible answers
What about normal Parkinson’s that’s progressed as he’s aged…?
doesnt even have to be that, dude could just have an essential tremor that gets worse during emotional stress
Nah he's probably fiendin for some Jet the fuckin junkie
/s
or hes just old? old people are shaky
Yeah, at a certain age it just happens.
... because of underlying health conditions.
Like Parkinson’s
10mm pistols also have a lot of recoil.

I didn't know about that FBI shootout, very interesting.
Hey guys hickok 45 here ...
Ahh, Gun Grandpa...

I would love to see Quintus serve as the inspiration for a 1 Perception playthrough of Fallout in the way we have 1 Intelligence.
At some point your Pipboy is like Chance to Hit 🤷

That's actually a great idea
I'd love to see a fight with Darkness from Konosuba
God I suck without a scope
He's just like me fr
Old man that needs a stick to walk can barely aim what a surprise.
That's what happens when you allocate zero perks to combat.
Yeah but even Senior Scribe Rothchild would have been able to hit Maximus at least once from that distance with a 10mm Pistol.
Not with Maximus' evasion perk or luck, he's behind cover ducking too. Maybe if he had a pipboy and could access VATS he would've hit him?
“This is why you don’t let nerds run your chapter.” Paladin Harkness, probably.
He was in the middle of a tantrum, screaming "HERETIC" the whole time.
That scene was maddening in a legit way. 😂 Nobody in the brotherhood is spec'd for small arms?
You missed You missed You missed You missed
It was divine intervention
Sometimes there are actors you can tell have never fired a gun in their life and this actor made that abundantly clear based on the scene.
Tbf, wouldnt be suprising to know Quintis hasnt ever exactly fired a gun
It definitely feels like this Chapter has focused on their Clerics/Scribes to the detriment of its Knights
that would actually be an interesting explanation, as in result of feeling thrown aside for not being smart/being the muscle, knights and paladins would just drown themselves in ignorance out of pride
didn’t the show literally state this?
yes lol
Maybe? It’s been heavily implied at least.
You guys have a LOT of clerics, you know that?
Dude is a brotherhood scribe. They aren't trained in warfare.
