He knows how to talk to kids/ convince them to do things, he knows to get at their eye level and (in his way) tries to be understanding and sympathetic as basically a big child himself lol.

  • What do I always say? "Most kids are dead by now!".

“Most kids are dead by this age”

    Remember, make me money!

  • Dude he’s running this place like a sweatshop, 22 hour work days is rough

Right, Im sure that was only a dialogue option if you have the perk, otherwise you'd just fail

"You kids wanna do unpaid labor in my sweatshop!?" (Speech check failed)

    [deleted]

I mean, you can't convince me that The Ghoul didn't take the Bloody Mess perk.

If he did it’s only activated once so far, with the two khans he blew up

He blew up quite a few people in the first season

Like fully? Or just putting holes in the people at Filly? Cause unless I missed an episode (which honestly i think I might’ve) he didn’t turn anyone to chunks like bloody mess normally does.

he didn’t turn anyone to chunks like bloody mess normally does.

    😂😂😂

Nah dog his bullets make peoples body parts explode lmao bullets do not do that irl

In 76, the version of the gun in game has explosive bullets as an option.

I felt they were an abstraction of skills, personality quirks, or mutations picked up traveling through the wasteland, rather than things that actually exist in universe. Does the Ghoul have any perka no, but if in New Vegas you wanted to represent the skill he has with his revolver and brutality if his kills you'd give him the Gunslinger, Cowboy, and Bloody Mess perks.

I ment they were a gameplay representation of characters skills and improving those skills, you can’t just kill enough geckos and become more intelligent or stronger if the fallout world were real, it was just a way to do those things and make it fun too

You just sounded very dismissive of fun conversation about how elements of the show would be represented as if in the games.

That was unintentional, I just thought dude though perks were a real thing in world, still my bad for not explaining what I ment

    All good my man

Where the hell are they getting all those bottles anyway? Even a whole factory full of bottles would run out after a week or two of emptying

It's a factory. It makes more bottles. Probably mostly run by robots considering the activity of robots is what drew Xander and Max there in the first place.

Plus there’s literally hundreds of empty bottles throughout the wasteland

  • It's does kinda suck they went the ghoul route with him (I was a firm super mutant believer) but seeing him running a shame with ghoul kids to gets tons of sarsaparilla caps made me laugh so damn hard. I would have loved running into a situation like this in any fallout game

    Im not sure he's ghouling

One of the trailers showed he has a toothed mouth growing in the dip of his clavicle

Some think centaur, Im wondering if they're introducing a new type of mutant in Thad

He could be a new type of mutant, like Harold and his tree, we still have no actual idea what Chicken Fucker gave him

I was thinking he's actually kind of giving harold too.

What if chicken fucker is Mark?

    Who's Mark?

Harold, the Master and (presumably) Mark all became special mutants.

Mark was mentioned, and most people’s theory is that he is the mysterious stranger.

That certainly could be. The sunken eyes and potted skin remind me too much of the Ghoul and others like him so I can't help but see him turning into one and not something else

I mean, Harold is also surface-level very similar-looking to a ghoul, so its not without precedent for smth to look like a ghoul but not to be one

It won’t be a Centaur that’s just not how they are created. He wouldn’t become one by taking something.

I dont think centaur either. But it wouldn't be the first retcon if it was the case

Centaurs are the random bits from gore bags dumped in the FEV vats.

Nah they’re fusions of people and animals. In the classics centaurs had two heads, a dog an a human

Centaurs are multiple humans dipped into a vat of FEV
Super mutants are when a human is dipped into FEV and the process goes at least mostly right

If Thadeus received FEV. Then he is mutating in a centaur like way, while not being a centaur. He would be a unique FEV mutant ( think how harold is a unique FEV mutant that happens to look like a ghoul )

Im pretty sure super mutant is still on the table, my post about it was taken down tho, but look at his cheekbones/ forehead and there was that pic of him last year making huuuuuge molds of his hands!

That or like other said: Harold style mutant!

Its what inspired this post; someone asked how he got all those kids to work for him.

Becoming a super mutant is a very specific process, I very much doubt Chicken Fucker could have improved the process to such an extent that a single injection and no post care would make one. I'd definitely wager he's an FEV mutant like Harold

We know of at least 3 different types of super mutants from different processes.

"he's an FEV mutant like Harold"
or to be precise , a unique FEV mutant , like how Harold is an FEV mutant with unique properties, compared to standard ones like super mutants or even centaurs

    [deleted]

Its in the trailer, and it looks like a mouth with weird sharp teeth XD

I doubt Bethesda would waste the actor on a flesh puddle though, hence why I think "mutant"

i went to edit my comment but accidently deleted it lmao but yeah I'm with you on the mutant thing. I don't think he'll turn into a monster but I do think theyre going somewhere else other than Ghoul with him. Just not sure where yet lol

We know ghouls don't regenerate which Thad does, so I think ghoul is safely out.

I think that Norm's buds are headed for the super mutant treatment. With Phase 2 and "Future Enterprise Ventures" F.E.V.

Okay I'm glad others caught the FEV reference lol very interested to see what nonsense Norm will be getting into

In other countries the words used in the subtitles were changes to what words would have been used in their translation of FEV, so instead of Future Enterprise Ventures it would be something with the starting letters for their FEV.

So yeah, clearly an intentional nod.

Agreed, 32 and 33 didn't end up breeding a new generation of super managers, so their contingency plan is to make themselves super mutants managers.

    ... damn i like this.

I wouldn't want him to go super mutant, I assume that would require cgi and voice altering on Johnny Pemberton's performance and I'd be much happier just seeing him with ghoul makeup.

I know you're totally right and I completely agree lol idk why I was just so sure he was going to be a super mutant

I think they are setting up super mutant. The clumsy, awkward, generally scared guy is going to be a goofy super mutant and they already have him playing that guy a bit when he’s in the armor.

Would be a fun foreshadowing tbh

Fits on multiple levels too. If you ever played the board game the playable characters are: ghoul, vault dweller, brotherhood outcast, wastelander, and super mutant. We have the ghoul, vault dweller, and Titus appears to be a brotherhood outcast now. Wastelander feels overly generic and everyone we encounter is basically that. That leaves us super mutant for what they seem to consider unique types of stories

  • The depths of lore that these writers have plied continues to amaze me.

It's little things like this that make me think this is the best game adaptation ever brought to screen. Things like The Last of Us are obviously great, but they generally have a linear story from the game to work off of, which makes "adherence" to the game much easier in a film format. With something like fallout, there really isn't a story to adapt, but rather a whole world AND the game systems folks have used to interact with that world. Capturing the tone of a world is much harder imo, and then to go even further and integrate aspects of how the game actually plays into the characters and the story - that just takes it to another level (and is a far greater challenge imo than story adaptation).

  • Thaddeus stole the spotlight last episode IMO! XD

  • The people saying Thaddeus isn't a ghoul really just need to learn to trust the show.

    Maximus says

    Thaddeus, I think you're a ghoul

    Or something along those lines.

He's working with a bunch of Ghoul children.

ghouls don't have a mouth on their stomach and unique mutants are a thing, like harold, the people of vault 4, horrigan had a unique starin of FEV but that's a special case.

Did you notice that the super-managers mentioned the FEV?

Pretty sure that plot line lies with them.

Most ghouls aren't made from chicken-fucker serum - however I do give you that there's unique mutants. Someone said Centaur, that would be cool.

Did they? I thought it was just the Future Enterprise Ventures thing and that was a nod, doesn't necesarilly mean the FEV is gonna be present or relevant, though it could be possible.

"Most ghouls aren't made from chicken-fucker serum" I mean If he is indeed a ghoul it could be any kinda liquid as long as it's irradiated.

But I feel like its safe to say its not because of the speed it acts with and it's effects so far lol

I mean - look man. I've watched a lot of television.

The fact that they chose the biggest meat head to hint at FEV.. if you were here with me in person I'd bet $100 that he's the first one to turn mutant.

I don't think it was an accident they were called Super-Managers. Super-Mutants. lol

And Future enterprise ventures is too clunky. They would just remove one of the words.

Their plotlines could intersect, and it might just be foreshadowing something that will happen and not the experiment itself.

Keyword is "I think". If you saw a race of almost immortal beings called "The poopshitters", you obviously would call the next person that has that trait a poopshitter because that's the extent of your knowledge.

See this is the kind of pedantry I come to Reddit for.

Y'all can't handle the mildest argument, redditors are always crybabies omg.

  • I love Bilbo Thaddeus Derek Thompson, and have ever since Superstore. He steals every scene he's in, and I'm thrilled for him to have snagged a role on such a hit show.

  • Maybe he is going Wendigo instead of Super Mutant or Ghoul.

You have to have eaten another person shortley before you turn to be a wendigo.
