If you actually care about animal conservation at all then you should care about the work of zoos and aquariums. If you think that all they are is small boxes for people to gawk at animals or that its cruel for an animal to know tricks then you have very outdated views on what these places actually do.
You're basically denying animals cruelty all together. why not admit animal cruelty used to be common for our entertainment. we would take wild animals for circus, marine shows etc. the zoo was a collection of exotic animals captured by colonial warlords. our history of animal welfare is inexistent. so it is entirely fair to be sceptical of these institutions. then you try to explain to them how recently mostly Western countries been improving conditions, conservation efforts, and the other positives.
there are definitely inhumane animal shows still on display, though maybe not in your tiny part of the world
I support shelters that take in abandoned pets, animal sanctuaries, centres that support endagered species and wildlife rehabilitation that help injured and orphaned animals.
I don't support zoos and aquariums so I'm curious what 'these places actually do' that you think is positive?
Many zoos and aquariums are rehabilitation centers, and giving access to visitors allows them to educate the public and raise the needed money for that rehabilitation and, usually, for broader conservation efforts as well.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium, for example, played a major role in rehabilitating the bay,s ecology after the heavy fishing industry in the area collapsed, and continues to be a significant conservation and research facility today.
Maybe you should try to learn about the topic in places other than Peta or Greenpeace.
You're obviously just reading up on cherrypicked atrocities and projecting those onto everything, everywhere, without even basic critical thinking, going the easy route to what you think is a moral high ground.
I don't know if that final beluga whale scream was legit, but it added to the scene.
Funny how the cameraman knew to pan to the beluga at the right moment. is it a routine?
definitely trained behaviour, I can't imagine they'd include smoking in the routine though. probably the staff just don't want smoking in the park
Suppose to be a Chinese click bait, bet the dolphin is trained and scene is staged
I’d say there’s a 100% chance thats the case.
Looking at him all "What are you gonna do about it? :D"
“I said no smoking, bitch”
These aquariums should not exist
Those are large pools for beluga shows. Normally they live in actual aquariums
Aquariums in general should not exist and zoos too - just rehabilitation centres

The aquarium in the video has responded to this video and it just a skit
