Hello, I had my appointment Tuesday & I have been diagnosed with having FND. My main symptoms are I've struggled to walk for a few years and have absolutely zero balance & co-ordination.
It's just alot to process & take in as I don't know a lot about the condition but from what I've read so far, it makes a lot of sense.
I'm worried about my driving licence, I'm not affected with driving as its more my mobility it's affected.
I was wondering if there's any treatments or any advice that may help to improve my walking etc
Would be lovely to connect and make friends with other people living with FND. I'm Female, 36 from Wales.
Hey there, 21M in the US. I got diagnosed earlier this month, but I've known it was FND for over a year.
I'm going to finally start treatment in about a week with an FND specialist. I've got a wide variety of symptoms, including movement difficulties, but it's thankfully yet to meaningfully impact my ability to drive. One thing I've started doing as of late is carrying around a cane/walking stick, which has helped me to get around more. There are some conflicting opinions on canes for FND, so I'd do some research, but if you find yourself leaning on walls or furniture for support, go get one.
One thing I do know: there is hope for improvement. I have an older sister with FND, and she's seen improvement with treatment. Her FND hasn't vanished, but it's become much more manageable for her.
Hey lovely,
well welcome to the club.... I'm in Australia and i was diagnosed in 2020. Happy to connect. I got my best results from an alternative approach and happy to share any advice. I have been through allot of treatments and got some great results but it has been a process.
