Does this happen to you? >! I don’t know if that makes sense but I recently started getting these attacks where my legs start squeezing, but it’s not like a single muscle but more like larger groups of muscles symmetrically along my legs. One moment it’s focused in my hips, then thighs, knees, feet, calves. And I can’t relax them, I mean I can relax them for a second and they go back into the weird spasms right away. Like my legs absolutely don’t want to stay relaxed. And when I walk my gait gets disturbed. Movement isn’t smooth, like random muscles squeeze. I have had dystonic cramps in my abdomen and tongue and some cramping in my legs but it never really altered my gait. It’s like these weird cramps. when they hit my lower legs, the sides of my feet curl inwards, when they hit my thighs and hips it’s like the video. This came on after a stomach virus recently.

Not quite the same thing, but I feel like my legs are in a near constant state of stiffness/rigidity. I wake up in the morning and my legs are relaxed and my walking is smooth. But they get worse as the day goes on. I could literally be sitting around doing nothing and they'll be tightening up. Then I start walking like "Pinocchio" and then my left wrist starts to curl inward so it looks really weird. Muscle relaxers and using a rolling pin on the legs don't really work well.
I get similar cramping in my lower legs. It started about 3 years ago but only in bed. It got worse and started happening during the day as well, mostly after walking for a while.
At night it isn't so bad now, since I started drinking 5-6litres of water a day and heaps of salt. Still happens if I walk for more than about 15mins. It does not affect my walking as much as you in the video, but I also use a cane around my house and a rollator if I go out. Using the mobility aids has made it easier when weakness or cramps happen.
Yes I have the same issue its awful really. Have you done a levodopa trial?
Yes, it really hurts when calves get going. I’ll have attacks mid walk where it’s like each step the entire Muscle group locks up and flexes right as I step. It’s like my brain forgot how to autonomously walk. And the signal that it just got that my foot made contact really means to flex my leg to my brain. It’s awful, and can be painful I am sorry. 😞
Same and I usually am not able to describe it it feels so absurd.
Yep it’s like the nervous system forgot that it has to relax certain muscles to walk.
OMFG YES. TY
That’s similar to what I get, though mine seem to be mostly around my thighs/pelvic area with sporadic calf cramps. It’s like they go rock hard, especially my quads and around my knees, and I can’t move them properly leading to a weird gait. If the muscles are super tight my knee will continuously pop as I walk. This has been after months of balance issues, got a cold and things with the muscles got way worse after that. It’s like they’re locked in position for a lack of a better description.
