I'm trying to play the timed quests. I'm on chapter 15. When I go to the timed quests there is just a question mark on a map and i can't select it. It says 100AP for a cactuar but i can't activate the quest or see where it is on the map. Is it supposed to be selectable or give me a location? I looked at some online lists but there are multiple cactuars at different locations so I don't know which one it is

  • You don't need to activate the quest if I remember. You just need to find and defeat a cactuar

    But it needs to be in a specific location? The map just shows 3 roads. Can't figure out where that is

  • If it's like where the stone archs are, you need to get on top of those, that one quest should be there

    I'm not in any stone arches I'm out in a big field

    Then it should just be around there, it might be a bit imprecise, just keep roaming around and be sure it's the right spot

  • Relith96 is right. If you're standing under some of those stone arches when looking for the quest, you'll have to climb up one to trigger it. Did this one recently. Swapped to Prompto to shoot the ones on the other arch, Noctis can warp across but I like the bazooka.

    How do i know if its triggered though? Why have I just got a question mark on it? I can't select it or see a map placement etc

    You'll know when the timed quest starts when markers show up for the targets and some fast paced music starts playing. The one on the arches with the cactuars can be tricky, if it doesn't trigger after climbing one, go to the other arch and it should trigger. It can be a bit finicky. Had the walk back and forth a bit up there before it triggered for me last. Of that doesn't work... your game might just be being a butt.
