Y’know, I’ve seen a lot of holocaust movies, and they always start with the Nazi’s asking for papers. I really thought that action would be recognized by most as a nazi/fascist action. I thought the action would infuriate most people. I guess people don’t watch enough holocaust movies these days. Maybe they’re just full-blown fascists.
Many unfortunately assume that because it’s “their side” doing this, that they’ll be somehow exempt from the creeping loss of personal liberties.
It does not occur to them that if they have something a fascist government wants - that their privileges can be revoked in the same manner with very little excess effort. Once these mechanisms are in place, they hunger for victims.
