Ed Markey is a US Senator from Massachusetts. There is an ICE Facility in Burlington MA (north of Boston), right across from the popular Burlington Mall. People have been demonstrating outside of it.

Thank you for the article, I had checked a few times got the right state and still wrote Vermont. I'll pin your comment to make sure others are aware it was in fact Massachusetts. Again, thank you for the correction.
I am glad too, the MAGA is exceptionally good at making people think no one is fighting back. Your senator and many more are doing everything they can to protect their constituents. The more eyes on actions like this the harder it becomes for MAGA to spin propaganda.
My Senators are Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey. When I look at much of the rest of the country, I feel blessed. I don't think Ed should be running again, but actually my own (young) congressman is primarying him (Seth Moulton) and he's a transphobic little self-aggrandizing weasel for whom I have no use.
So, we're blessed, but we live in a world with time, and age, and our senators (whom I adore) are too old.
I guess the good news is that the country is such a frigging mess that I shouldn't worry about the rest of it.

Good for Markey. I called and complained we don’t see what he’s doing against the corrupt administration. I also told him he’s too old and should be mentoring young democrats. Maybe he listened! Hold these criminals to account for the concentration camps!
make ICE have name tags and badge numbers just like the town and State Police....these guys are bullies hiding behind a face coverings.. police aren't afraid , why are they? in reality thier job is far safer then a city police officer..
How about:
* Create a sane immigration policy not based on racism.
* Fast track citizenship for medical professionals and nurses who can pass our licensing as we’re on the edge of a shortage.
* Amnesty paths for immigrants who have worked and paid taxes in our systems without drawing benefits.
* Fast tracking immigration for veterans who have completed their service and their families. (Many foreign nationals serve in our military and are granted residency but not citizenship on honorable discharge, even when earning our highest military honors.)
* Stop deporting people to 3rd party country prisons.
* Make lifetime incarceration for immigration violations federally illegal - it’s a form of for-profit prison slavery.

I’m confused as to what will happen in the future should there be a democratic admin. Are we just going to sweep this all under the rug and it’s business as usual? Just ignore all the atrocious human rights violations and the thugs that carried them out? Like how do we address this? Even if there is a dem admin that wants to handle this it would take at least 4 years of being mired in untangling this mess in which time there would be other priorities. It’s just a shit show and not sure if Dems have a project 2028. If they don’t then they probably shouldn’t bother even showing up.
MA has the least transparent government in the US, and now you want transparency? Demand it from our State Officials. This guy tries social media and thinks the voters want the Green New Deal and to pay more for electricity so we can close pipelines.
