I’ve had sleep paralysis my entire life. I’m an "expert" at it—I know the tingle, I know the feeling of being locked in, and usually, I don't even fight it anymore - I embrace it. But the last two nights have been fundamentally different, and I’m terrified for tonight.
Night One: I woke up with a level of intense dread I have never felt before. I was on my side facing the wall. I saw a hand come up and start messing with my covers. The best way I can describe it is "dead-looking." It was a dark grey—not a light grey—and it had a solid, almost metallic density to it, but it was definitely skin. I tried to scream but couldn't. Then, the hand actually moved the covers over my mouth to "hush" me. I don’t remember falling back asleep, which is impossible given the adrenaline I felt.
Night Two: I tried to stay close to my husband (Zack), facing inward toward him. I woke up again with that same immense dread. I could barely move, but I managed to "micro-move" enough to scratch Zack’s arm. He woke up and said I was trying to yell "No!" repeatedly. Even with him awake, the feeling that something was directly behind me didn't go away. I was too afraid to even turn around. He was still half asleep, so he doesn't remember much more than that.
The Context: I initially thought this was a malevolent paranormal entity or a "shadow person." I didn't even have "aliens" on my radar until my husband mentioned the description of the hand sounded like a Grey. It was a total mouth-drop moment. I’ve always said seeing a UFO was on my bucket list, but I never expected it to feel like this(that's if it even was an encounter). Has anyone else experienced an entity with this specific dark grey, dead-looking skin or the "hushing" behavior? I know what sleep paralysis feels like, and this feels like a physical intruder...
EDIT (Update on my personal history):
After thinking about this more, I realized there is a piece of context I should probably add. I have been what some call a SLIder (Street Light Interference) my entire life, or at least I’ve had the symptoms:
• I cannot wear watches; they stop working or the batteries drain within 24 hours (my mother has this same issue).
• I have a long history of electronics (printers, faxes, etc.) jamming or glitching specifically when I am nearby or working.
• Street lights frequently go out or flicker when I pass under them (though I’ve always been skeptical of this and usually assume it’s just a coincidence/bad bulbs that could happen to anyone).
• I even have a strange "spider" phenomenon where they drop directly in front of my face (18+ times in my lifetime- I began counting in the 4th grade).
I have even reached out to ASSAP (the Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena) in hopes of trying to find a logical, scientific framework for this. Unfortunately, I never heard back.
** I've learned that many people with a history of Street Light Interference also report these types of visitations. I’m wondering if my lifelong electrical issues were actually a precursor to what could be(the more I dig, it feels like) a possible encounter. **
I think r astralprojections is best for you. Hope to see your question over there. Fear test..but others over there can explain better. Welcome to the club..
If you get sleep paralysis alot. Look into narcolepsy it's one if my main symptoms. Along with hypnagogic hallucinations upon waking, the hallucinations can often appear beyond absolutely real and always terrifying (in my experience) I've seen zombies, monsters, intruders etc. All quite common with sleep disordered individuals suffering from REM intrusions.
Not trying to debunk you. Just sharing my very similar experience.
I used to have the SLIDER and watch phenomenon like clockwork lol, in my teen years.
The hand is not the most common SP entity, but still a known one. It's a grotesque disembodied hand that interacts physically with you.
I got attacked by it once. A HUGE (much bigger than my head, it's palm was bigger than my face, with claws and skin was olive green) hand reached up from under my headboard and grabbed my face so hard I was literally suffocating. I couldn't breath and couldn't move. Thank God it vanished on its own, I would have swore I would have died.
Similar sleep paralysis sufferer here. Ended though when I hit puberty. Many similar experiences with similar beings. They would crawl on my bed towards me and breathe on my face. Only thing that made it go away was reciting the Lords prayer. Will never do gateway tapes since these experiences terrified me and put a big damper on my childhood
Spiders are sacred, good luck creatures. I made a promise to an indigenous Mvskoke tribal member friend many years ago to never kill another spider (intentionally at least). I have since been able to understand why I sometimes see them around me in the astral. Because I respect them/life/the sacred.
The ability to mess with electronics happens for me typically only when very angry but it is possible. My car clock typically ends up a few minutes different than the one on my phone no matter how many times it is reset - usually within a couple months it strays when I drive a lot. I’ve never found an explanation for this phenomena.
I have a possible tiny capsule shaped implant in the middle of my brain that showed up on a brain scan for an unrelated reason. Pretty strange and made me rethink some things when I found it. I’d missed it initially after getting my scans back because you have to zoom in to see it. However, tests with a Geiger counter over that area of my skull showed that I can muster / activate a signal with it. (Really intriguing stuff, the effect is definitely there and have repeated the experiment often. The level of radiation activated isn’t enough to cause any health problems but it differs significantly from background).
Sometimes the implant almost begins to buzz (the feeling of activation) with energy. It’s a strange and odd sensation. Random from my perspective.
The dark hand is not malevolent in my experience but is one of the forms an entity connected to the life/death cycle takes. I’ve seen the hand emerging from the ceiling above me while trying to get to sleep myself. This was followed by a spiritual encounter with the entity which was rather a fun romp. I personally do not think the entity was likely attempting to scare you. Likely the appearance did that (plus the unexplainable manifesting IRL) all on its own. Try to telepathically communicate and say hi. If you don’t want it around tell it that. Personally I am really happy when I can see my entities manifest IRL and work with me, often on healing issues I’ve begged for their help with, etc.
Keep in mind the entities connected to the Universe itself and its functioning “see” us more than we see them, so they have a high degree of familiarity with us. It’s only we that are afraid. Ask to meet it in a dream to get to know it better.
Lower astral (not saying it's limited to that but I spontaneously pop out there a lot) is full of bugs!!! Spiders, beetle earwig cockroach things, caterpillar/moths and crazy dragonflies. Doesn't seem creepy just natural. I don't always see them.
But man does the lower astral have a ducking VIBE though. Sometimes just that vibe is enough to send me scurrying for my body. Hard to describe, and it's not always like that.
You may be witnessing foundational consciousness species that anchor our existence (bugs). These are tied to nature gods spread throughout us as well as our natural surroundings. Perception of these entities in their true inter dimensional forms vs screen (bugs) entities can be very overwhelming for the human mind to comprehend. However they are the Life Force/Energy beings that allow us to exist, so we should reverence them no matter how strange.
Have seen them in those forms and their real forms, 100/10 experience.
I can not offer answers as I do not have experience with this. I have long suspected that indeed we are watched at all times, whether we will it or no. Fear and dread, the worry of what may be, are vibrations we do not understand and are unfamiliar to the human form or our particular wave length. It is a warning sense, many things wish to attach or be close to one such as you. Because you have 'one foot in the door', so to speak.
Did you have a near death experience as a child? Or maybe you became very ill when you where young? We are autonomous beings and you must understand that you have sole sovereignty of yourself. This thing you fear only has power you lend it. There is no magic bullet that will dispel it unless you educate yourself and arm yourself with understanding. You are one with you, look inward and know this. Others here know much more about this type of thing and how to focus your will to reject these intrusions.
Just say no, I reject you, leave this place or space. The trick is you actually have to believe it, you have to know it. Obviously, this does not apply to all things that may come, you must crawl prior to walking, then run, then fly.
Most people do not understand we are in a kind of fishbowl, that these entities we see as shades, shadows, interdimensional beings, whole landscapes, are invisible to them. They are there none the less. I wish you only the best and may a harmony come to reside within you.
This is very interesting. I believe it's very possible that the hand was the Dweller on the Threshold, as are most shadow figures. I guess it could have been a Grey, but often they seem to try to make you feel calm, safe and sedated.
Whether the Dwellers are real beings or not doesn't really matter, because from what I understand, they are not there to hurt you, they are there to scare / test you and keep you in the material world. They are the guards of the astral to keep out the uninitiated or fearful.
Have you ever tried to get past the sleep paralysis state into Out Of Body Experience state? My wife is a life long lucid dreamer and sleep paralysis sufferer. Recently she had a sleep paralysis where she was suddenly across the room next to a large shadow figure. She got scared and snapped back into her body sleeping in the bed. I explained to her about OOBEs and how she needed to not be afraid and not give in to the Dweller on the Threshold. Also, I told her some OOBE basics and that she could be wherever she wanted instantly, and didn't have to stay in the immediate vicinity (she's still afraid of seeing her own self in bed, or seeing shadows around her body). Now she's having OOBEs all the time. I'm very jealous since she had no interest in this before, but also very happy for her that she finally took control of the helpless feeling the sleep paralysis gave her.
Gosh , this reminded me of that one time couple years ago , I “saw” a hand coming out of what I can only call an optical illusion ish black and white spiral in the doorway of my bedroom . And it was like my husband’s hand playing a trick becoming long and then pulling back into the pool of black and white spiral. He was working in the office and luckily heard my strained voice.
I had to ask him what’s your name, who are you. lol I was so scared
