A few years ago, my girlfriend at the time and I were in bed, something awoke me and all I could do was lay there staring at this black mass occupying a corner of the room. The feeling of evil from the entity and the feeling of hopelessness from not being able to move any part of my body to wake up my girlfriend was really intense.
I mentioned it to her the next morning and kind of laughed when I told her I was trying to use every bit of energy I had to try and wake her up, to which she responded by telling me she dealt with the exact same thing, in the exact same corner and was unable to wake me up.
That night, we crawled into bed, exact same thing played out with us, then just like that, we never experienced sleep paralysis again, nor had we ever experienced it prior to this.
Anyone else have any experience like this?
Sleep paralysis is very scary. I’ve had a few experiences but never saw any beings. My understanding is when you are in this state you are actually awake in the astral. It just feels real because it’s looks very much like your room. There’s lots of people online that talk about how to break free from the paralysis and once you do you are free to have your OBE.
No possible without connection
Not exactly the same but there was one apartment I would occasionally sleep in while in college, and I as well as 6+ other people experienced sleep paralysis in that particular room over the course of a year. Up to that point only one or two of us had ever experienced sleep paralysis & the people who had experienced it before only had it happen once or twice before. We all saw different things. I saw the door opening itself and then objects from around the room being thrown towards me. My boyfriend heard a wolf growling behind him but couldn’t turn over. One of our guy friends saw some kind of monster coming from the closet after hearing it making horrible noises. One guy and a few girls wouldn’t say what they saw but said it was horrible.
Separately, my brother-in-law had a shared paralysis experience when he was a kid. One night he and his friend both saw the hat man (classic appearance with round fully brimmed hat and red eyes) and a week or two later a different friend slept over and spoke about seeing the hat man in my BIL’s room.
Oh, interesting- I’ve also experienced the creature growling behind me but not being able to turn over!
I’ve had sleep paralysis many times in my life but only in one location… The guest room at my parents’ house. It’s never happened anywhere else, and the bed/ furniture/ environment have been switched up a few times over the years, so I don’t think it’s the physical conditions of the room? Some spaces just seem to have that “energy”, don’t know what to call it.
There was a documentary on sleep paralysis that interest you. I wish I could remember the title. I think there may be something more than science explains. How did anyone sleep the next night?! I would be too scared.
We just didn’t expect to experience the same thing again. Experiencing it together one night, I probably would’ve just chalked it up to being a major coincidence. But I just can’t make sense of the back to back experience
I found it! It was called, The Nightmare, and it was on Netflix.
Hopefully it won't happen to you again. We've had strange experiences with it too. I feel like it happens to me only when I fall to sleep on my back.
