Last week my 3MO was eating so much and so frequently that I literally had to decided to supplement with a little bit of formula each feed because I could t keep up. Now this week he’s wasting so much milk like half the bottles I don’t know if it’s the formula making him more full, if it was a growth spurt that passed or what. But what should I do. If it’s the formula I don’t want to take it away, but I’d prefer not to use it if I could. So should I remove the formula, do less breast milk each feed. Please help? It hurts me so much to waste that much! 😭

Is there a reason why you can't just offer the amount your little is eating at the start of each feed and offer a second, smaller bottle if needed? Our first did this every growth spurt. We also just offered more if/when he showed hunger cues after a short time, an ounce or so at a time, if it was between "scheduled" (expected) windows.
I could do that and just do half the dose of supplemental formula just incase it’s the formula keeping him more full…the problem is, this mostly happens at night and I’d prefer to not bring 8 bottles to bed as I already bring 4… I do pump while I feed him and the next feed gets what I pumped during the last.( I have a bedside fridge). Idk I’m sleeper deprived so figuring this all out just isn’t clicking with me haha
