I am currently 11 weeks pp with my second and have never been so conflicted about what I should do with my pumping journey. I’ve been a hardcore oversupplier, 60-65 oz a day, I dropped to 5ppd at 5 weeks and 4ppd at 7 weeks and still consistently was getting these numbers, and have a freezer stash of over 1500 oz already. Last week I went on vacation and dropped to 3ppd for 4 days to not inconvenience those on vacation with me by having to pump during our excursions and I absolutely tanked my supply. I’ve been getting 35-45 oz a day if I’m lucky. I don’t know if I should just accept my fate as producing just over a days supply or if I should work to get my supply back. I hated having to pack up and freeze so much milk all the time, but now I kind of lost my sense of accomplishment of having so much milk.

  • If you dont want to keep adding to your stash and 35oz is enough for your baby's daily needs then yes accept it. If it continues to drop then just add back a pump.

  • Nah girl 35-45 is great. That was me at 4 pumps and it was perfect. I dropped to 3 at six moths and tanked my supply to 28ozs and it’s still great, more than enough for my baby. I feel bad for people with huge oversupplies! But I get it, it’s also a weird feeling every time your supply goes down, and seeing people with massive supplies makes me feel weird too. Idk it’s all so strangely emotional!

  • Nope, oversupply causes all sorts of issues.

You’re also around the time where supply regulates based on demand rather than hormones, that might be another reason your supply decreases
