Ugh im on day 4 of my first postpartum period, 12 weeks pp. Its really bad. My supply has halfed since starting and im freaking out. I sometimes have my son latch also and there is literally nothing in between pumps. I was making just enough for baby and now im not. Should i expect this as my new normal or will it return.
It will return after your period. Keep latching/pumping, drink tons of water. It’s just the change in your hormones.
Thank you!
I’ve heard taking calcium and magnesium together helps
Thank you!

Mine started 12 weeks pp too, just maintain your schedule and your supply will bounce back! I’m 15 months pp now and still lactating.
Thank you! How long did it take yours to come back when you dipped?
It dipped every single month, and by month 10 I stopped freaking out lol. It normally dipped significantly for days 2-4 of my period then gradually worked to a peak near when I ovulated. Then slowly back down with a sharp drop off on day 2 again.
Did you add in additional pumps at all?
At the beginning but it never really changed my output. Trigger warning: I would pump every 2 or 2.5 hours during the day at work and then nurse whenever my daughter was home. There wasn’t much time in the day to add more pumps.
