yea you can, but i got the killa kill late last night but had work today so i ran out of time, if i had known his helmet wouldnt have worked i wouldve just used the cultist circle (wanted to get it in raid for a little side challenge as i was playing interchange regardless)

Not a bug, just different editions of the same helmet. The one you need is (Killa edition) and the one you have is (Christmas edition).
The reason why the quest is still handed out is 1) because it’s an oversight from BSG and 2) because you could get the Killa edition from the recent Twitch Drops and they came with the FIR tag so some people have them available to turn in.

I think it is due to the names being different.
The christmas one has « (christmas edition) at the end of its name instead of (Killa edition). The same goes for the chestpiece.
It most likely is an oversight from BSG.

heads up for any of you that get this daily I'd skip it unless you got a FiR killa helmet from before the event

The Christmas armor and helmet are different items than the killa helmet and armor it's not a bug.
You need the normal ones, not the chrismast hat ones.
Remove the face shield
Or just go hunt killa. I wouldn’t trade in the Christmas version
