Hi,
Recently I came across this set of information - That a lot of founders, CEOs and high profile executives keep ghostwriters to write X and linkedIn costs.
I am a thinker and writer, myself. But most of the stuff I have written is basically for internal consumption as well. Writing is actually thinking for me. So, whatever I read or listen to - I write notes about them joining it to my current epistemology. I am kind of a polymath so I like to delve deep into other topics as well. So, can I be a good ghostwriter, I assume.
I am a student rn, so I haven't really thought about doing this as a gig, but if someone is willing I can share some of the essays, I have written or make posts for their X and LinkedIn accounts. I also know a lot about growing on X, as I experimented on my personal account.
If somebody can point me where I can find such clients, it would be a great help.

You're unlikely to find clients for this service directly. High profile people do use third parties to write content for them (social media, blog posts, editorials, speeches) but generally that is a function of a marketing, public relations, or communications teams. If that is internal, you're looking for a copywriting job with a big company. More likely you'll get work with an agency that provides a suite a services to a company, one of of which is public communication for their executives.
If you want to stay freelance, focus on reaching out to those agencies with offers to produce content. And yes, this is way harder now because of AI.
yeah it’s real. i’ve been ghostwriter for multiple founders, ceos. actually the term you should search for in linkedin in brand reputation management writers, or thought leadership writers. let us know if you find anything.
Sounds like a great skill to offer! I’d suggest checking platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, or LinkedIn lots of executives and founders post for ghostwriting help there. You can also reach out directly to founders on X/LinkedIn with a short portfolio or sample post to show your style and value.
Thanks for the advice.
Yeah they're definitely real, tons of execs are way too busy to craft thoughtful posts daily. Your writing background sounds solid but the real skill is capturing someone else's voice - that takes practice
Try cold outreach on LinkedIn to smaller company founders first, they're more likely to respond than Fortune 500 CEOs. You could also check out platforms like Upwork or even just search "ghostwriter" on Twitter, lots of people post about needing help there
will do. thank you for the advice
The internal PR department was responsible for ghostwriting the CEO at the last place I worked, so I’d look into public relations
I'm a financial writer and editor, and a big part of my business is ghostwriting for fintech founders and CEOs. I make around $20K/month, and about $7,000 of that is ghostwriting. Most of it is LinkedIn posts and weekly/monthly newsletters. Finding clients is easier said than done. People need to see your published work to trust you to write for them. If you're only writing for internal consumption, your first step should be finding a platform to begin publishing your work (personal blog, Substack, Medium, LinkedIn - whatever you choose, just get started). I'm around if you have any questions or need help!
I know its a long shot, but are you looking for an intern ?
Ha, if you only knew how many offers I get. I do have two people working with me (part-time).
Well, my learning curve might astonish you. Give me a chance to prove, if possible.
Would love to follow you on LinkedIn
Sure! Link is in my bio.
man well done
Thanks!
Go to your school's dean of student's office - and tell them what you want to do. Tell them you want to do it for free for the school for 6 months - ask them who they should talk to to make this happen. As soon as you have that client started.. then you can go to other potential places and do the same for them, showing them your current work.
You could even do the exact same job for other schools, but at a cost to them. You simply call their dean of students office (or whatever office makes sense) and give them your pitch. (set up an appropriate website first, have a rate sheet ready, etc.)
AI is real
what ?
Why would anyone hire a ghostwriter when you can use AI to write anything?
I mean AI can spit generic things, that also it hallucinates. I don't think majority of viral or good tweets are written by AI. LinkedIn posts maybe.
There are tools that can generate a few months of LinkedIn posts then schedule them out. I do it often enough. It knows my LinkedIn profile and what I’m working on (software dev), so it can generate posts.
Ghostwriting is dying if not dead due to AI, it’s just easier.
For the same reason you shouldn't just vibecode without having a pro look at it for errors or bugs before releasing it (even though many don't).
