So im thinking about buying the game but im not sure how the aiming is on ps5 and just wanted to ask the people with experience if it is any good or not
There's a generous aim assist right from the get-go that makes the game feel great on controller. I've played this game for hundereds of hours on a ps4 controller and i never felt the controls were bad or that aiming was wrong. Its very polished.
I speedrun on ps4 no problem, game feels great on controller, i prefer it but you are at an ever so slight disadvantage to mouse, for speed.
Aim assist is very strong, i turn it down a bit personally as i find it too "sticky" but just play around with it, also remember moving is a lot more important than aiming in this game.
I always use controller. The camera moves a lot smoother with stick aiming, the mouse aiming gives me a headache. Its pretty good. I don't remember if the cursor on controller defaults to on or if you need to enable it, but it exists
There's an aiming reticle that the mouse uses but it might default to invisible on controller [because with analog sticks you always know where you're aiming at and don't strictly need the persistent reticle]
You have options for different reticle essentially its always on i dont think you can turn it off (its also only visible when you are aiming with your right stick
I've got bad wrists so double stick is a problem for me, I've turned the aim assist on full and am able to play no problem without basically aiming at all
Yeah, I can do fine aim in certain circumstances, I won't spoil the game but there's some things where you can stop and aim properly, but I can't do those super quick movements, and I've beaten some of the game despite this, so you're good dude
As others have said aiming works well. I'd like to add that with the stock settings some of the more granular control is lost. If there's an enemy near a barrel I find it a lot harder to hit the barrel than it should be.
Aiming is fine, but the thumb sticks make a couple items a bit useless compared to PC, stuff like the item that lets you teleport to your cursor and the bullets that follow your cursor don't work well because the cursor is locked at a set distance from the character.
The game plays fine otherwise and you won't be missing out on much IMO.

I platinumed it on ps5, didn't use it but there's aim assist if you're struggling.

Aiming reticle is visible by default on console. The only option I've ever changed for config on PS5 was turning on Beast Mode. :)

I play on PC with a PS5 controller givin I'm not good at the game but aiming wise it's great
