I wonder if this leaves an opening for Liz Cheney somewhere, either for this seat or in the House (since it appears her replacement in the House might be interested in this seat). Not that Liz Cheney is a great person politically (she’s pretty terrible, let’s not sanewash her), but it’s Wyoming, it’s going to be a Republican anyway, so why not make it one that’ll make Trump uncomfortable for two years?
