Liberalism is basically a polytheist ideology it treats all ideologies as equally valid as long as they pretend to recognize the democratic process. Communism, fascism, and other totalitarian ideologies are monotheistic. Thdy treat even the smallest deviation from their thinking as heresy. Like those Christians with their mutual inquisitions... they'll fight each other more than their rivals or even the Devil.
It's more accurate to say Communism is like new age woo grifters, since they are selling vague ideas and vibes rather than a workable product, while Fascism is folkist bullshit since it comes with a bunch of blood and soil horseshit and admires other totalitarian ideologies while also thinking they should stay in their lane (also folkists are usually fascists).
Then again it depends on the type of communist. Ancoms and leftcoms tend to be as described while tankies are definitely fanatical crusaders.
