I don't understand how we have 5G in Egypt yet STILL no unlimited internet, India has a larger population, overall poorer than Egypt and even THEY have unlimited internet (only ones that don't have it is North Korea but that doesn't even count as a country), ya gma3a I'm literally turning 20 years old this year and Egypt has no unlimited internet still like this is actually embarrassing at this point

Problem is that everything in Egypt is so expensive and tiring so when you come back home you wanna play something, or in my case work on something since my exam is tomorrow (college student) yet the damn internet refuses to work and you pay an extravagant price basically 2-3 times a month, it sucks when I finally enjoy something and then all of a sudden, the internet just shuts off and refuses to work even though I only used 12 GB this week (literally nothing compared to how Americans use terabytes upon terabytes, or even ME in Qatar since I used to live there and I used to use the internet however I pleased while paying a fair price, I don't understand WHY Egypt isn't the same considering that the internet isn't just a hobby but a full on way of living)

I sadly live in an abusive household where my aunt scholds me for the internet usage even though my internet needs are different from hers and it has caused me trauma every time I even use the internet, that's a big reason why I'm so pissed about this whole thing

The thing that disgusts me the most is the Egyptians are the ultimate "pushovers" and they just let anyone walk over them despite their "tough" image, no one is saying anything and it just continues to get worse like yes the government is bad but WE let them do this shit (also gold prices have increased so much and that worries me because marriage opportunities have become less and less and worse and worse, all of this is just not fair for anyone really)

What can I do to cope about all of this, what can I do to actually enjoy my time and life in Egypt when almost everything is bad compared to other countries (except it's people, easily the thing that makes Egypt tolerable)

    الحل بيكون ان الشركات الي استخدامها كبير بتنزل سيرفرات عندك علشان معظم الاستخدام يكون داخلي بحيث الحجات المنتشرة تيجي مرة و بعدين التحويل يكون داخلي

    احنا لما كان النت محدود كان الناس بتوصل عمارة كاملة علي خط واحد و طبعا مع السرعات الحالية و خطوط الفايبر فدا لو رجع الناس هتتمنيك تاني

    الحل هو السي دي ان في سيرفرات وي و دا هيقلل الترافيك علي الخطوط العالمية بكتير

    للعلم يعني الحكومة بتاخد فلوس من الشركات علشان الكبلات الدولية هو مش ببلاش

    هم يقدروا يتحملوا التكلفة في حاليا هم عادة سايبنها للامان (لان تكاليف المصرية للاتصالات مثلا تكاليف خارجية بالدولار)، و للعلم المصرية للاتصالات بتعيد استثمار جزء كبير من ارباحهم في تنضيف و تنظيم البنية التحتية

    حاليا في حجات كويسة زي حياة كريمة و مع زي تي اي بيروكبوا فايبر عالطاير بدل ما يحفروا فدا هيحسن الجودة

    في مصانع فايبر بتتعمل هنا

    في داتا سنترز بتتعمل جديدة و دا كويس

    و يامسهل يعني ولو الارباح بتاعة المستهلكيين في مصر حلوة هتلاقي ناس زي نتفليكس و جوجل و دول عملوا سي دي ان اكتر و ساعتها مش هتفرق مع الشركات باقة النت لو معظم الاستهلاك عليهم

    Honestly I kinda agree because it's very mixed in Egypt and tbh most people I interact with want nothing to do with me but I say it's good because it's wayyyyy more social than in Qatar

    I am actually traveling for 3 weeks but sadly will have to come back to Egypt for college, thankfully I'll be done in a year so at least I can cope with that part

  • Actually if the fiber optic they are making works I think we will have unlimited internet. The main idea of limited internet instead of a line having space for 10 people with 100mbps bandwidth each. But they put 100 people. And by putting the limit you limit their usage so everyone have like a good speed. The fiber increases the bandwidth assuming it's done correctly If it can deliver for the same 10 persons 1000mbps then the 100 people will each have 100mbps.

    In the last two or three days there was a glitch in the system that suddenly allowed unlimited internet and this glitch happened once they installed the fiber optic box in my building although they didn’t connect it to my home yet

    I am a bit optimistic to what you said about unlimited internet for the simple reason that the CEO of telecom Egypt was replaced a couple of months ago by CEO that was in charge of the company in 2002 this was the same guy that oversaw the expansion of internet access across the country and it was unlimited at the time also i noticed slightly less quota theft under him

    معتقدش حقيقي دي المشكلة و الحكومة مش عبيطة عاشن تضييع على نفسها سبوبة زي دي و الا مكنش الاتنين اللي اتحبسو من سنة ولا سنتين ساعة حملة انترنت غير محدود في مصر، غير كدا انا عايش في كومبوند و عندي fiber to home ( الكومبوند كله يعني المفروض مشكلة الbandwidth تتحل جزئية اعتقد) و الفرق الوحيد هو السرعة اعلى شوية (عمرها ما بتوصل للسرعة اللي انت مشترك فيها) و النت ستيبل اكتر من الاول سيكا بس معتمد فشخ على وقت الاستخدام و بردو كان مثلا شركة وي تقدر انها توفر unlimited او كوتا اكبر للناس اللي عندها فايير مثلا لو المشكلة زي ما انت قولت او بلاش على الاقل المناطق السكنية الجديد اللي البنية التحتية بتاعتها كلها فايبر يتعمل فيها كدا

    القصة قصة فلوس و البلد محتاجة الايرادات الزيادة اللي بتيجي من تجديد النت مرتين و تلاتة في الشهر و الباقات الاضافية على سكيل ملايين المستخدمين
