I like it. I wanted a mini pen that was Ti and I like frag/milling so it fit the bill. I’ve carried this one every single day for about 4-5 years now. It takes the Pilot G2 Pixie refills, which oddly enough you can’t buy on their own. I get a 6 pack of the pixie size pens on Amazon for $12 to harvest the inserts.
It would need to have like 42 sides. 😂 I actually started carrying it because of silver’s intrinsic value (especially as of late). Figure if I’m ever in a SHTF scenario it’ll be worth more than paper money and might help get me home…
You have two knives in the photo, implying that you're carrying two on your person. Do you flip a coin to decide between them, or just go two-fisted?
Also, you can't eat silver. If you're in a doomsday scenario where paper money no longer holds value, silver isn't going to be worth anything either. You're going to be trading water and chickens. People in the zombie apocalypse would surely try to buy their way through with gold, and folks selling the stuff they need will just stare at it and say, "WTF am I supposed to do with that?"
The slipjoint is a Tactile Bexar. It’s paper thin and resides in my wallet 24/7, so it’s always on me as a secondary knife, or a “forgot my knife”, and therefore it is technically my true EDC. I rotate my primary folder daily depending on what I feel like carrying or what I’m going to do. As far as the silver goes, I started integrating it in to my EDC because of its value in the first 24hrs of a crisis / an immediate SHTF scenario. If I need something and I’m away from home, whether it be a ride, gasoline, or a bottle of water; when the ATMs don’t work, and the credit card readers are down, it’s always going to be good for currency on day one. Now if we are talking about weeks, months, or years after the fall of civilization, then yeah, it’s worthless of course.
Yeah 😬 I’ve got a pretty eclectic collection, but that is definitely one of the pricier options being a full custom. He’s my favorite maker though, so I said “treat yo self!” 🤣
Haha yeah it’s sweet. Been in that wallet every day since they first dropped probably going on 2-3 years now. But I’m not a big slipjoint guy, so it’s strictly on me for backup. If I’m somewhere where I don’t want to pull out my primary, I’ll use the Bexar. If I forget my primary at home (almost never happens), I’ll have the Bexar. It’s so thin and light it disappears. It’s Magnacut and full Ti so I never have to worry about corrosion. So in the wallet it stays. I like to run a locking knife as my primary carry, and usually a 3”-4” blade. But if you’re cool with carrying only a slipjoint then absolutely 100% check one out. American Blade Works just dropped a new modern slipjoint recently that seems to be competition for the Bexar as well… Also, if you really want to get freaked out, sometimes I carry a fixed blade too. Like, in addition to the wallet knife and a folder.
🤯🤯🤯
LOL no it won't be good for currency on day one. Nobody is going to take silver as payment for anything, not on day one or day 100, because this isn't 1849.
Think about it. Let's say you're two days from home, and you need gasoline, food and water to get back. Who is going to provide change for your silver coin? You'll end up spending the whole thing on one of those three necessities. Then, when you need gas or water again, you won't have anything to trade.
The people you think would barter with you are going to know this, and they'll think ahead to when they'll need to spend it. Who is going to give them change? They'll realize it's not worth anything to them either, and they won't accept it from you.
🤣 No one’s giving change in this scenario, and I’m absolutely not expecting it. That’s exactly why you should have a couple grand at home in small bills. Good luck out there.
hows the boltliner? been looking at these for a while, have the mini version from crkt

What's your primary knife in this photo shoot?
Karroll Knives KC3.5
Holy shit... Well thanks! Out of my range 😂

Treat yo self!!
I'm looking at that Bexar, and that is a really nice knife. I don't think I would need a knife for the other hand.

That coin is just prepper jewelry.

Good for you. Hopefully OP lives near you and not the 340 million Americans who would want something useful instead.
This is partly why I think ammunition is more valuable than people give reason, food medical supplies all that stuff
