I really like the militÀr sackmÀsser, but carried it enough in the military, it doesnt get a lot of time in the pocket in civil life. But i really liked the hole in the blade, which may be what lead me to spyderco. So i can only recommend any of those, but i might need to look into one of those civivis and your rat looks very nice too
I didn't really like the hole in the blade thing. I find it kinda bulky and not nearly as fast as a flipper. Much prefer those or a thumb stud. Also i am not buying anything american (such as spyderco) anymore these days.
I get that, i dont find the spyderco hole to be in the way, the handle doesnt need to have space for all the other tools so the handle is just a little bigger than the blade. And they are flickable, maybe with a drop of oil, probably similar to a thumb stud knife. Many of them are made elsewhere, most backlocks like the delica (maybe in k390) are made in japan, the byrd subbrand is made in china, but youre right that is quite the issue unfortunately
Maybe i should give it a try sometime in a dedicated folding knife, rather than a swiss army knife. Maybe its indeed the thickness of the Soldatenmesser 08 that has ruined the thumbholes for me.
But yeah, only a used one for the forseeable future. I also don't buy anything from american companies, no matter where stuff is actually made.
The amount of flippers and fixed blades I own vs the ones I carry is honestly gross, I need to simplify the collection badly đ
True i didnt put any fixed blades in here. Altho i sold 3 lately, so now i am down to just 3 (which i actually use maybe once or twice a year).
