• I know it's not a doner, but I figured this sub would appreciate it.

I've never liked adana kebab, but since I was in its namesake town I figured it would be illegal not to indulge and it made me realise how stupid I was. this one was amazing. So juicy it sauces itself. The sides were great to cut the fatty richness. Once the owner realised I didn't speak English, he called for his friend who did and sorted me out.

If visiting Turkey I'd highly recommend a stop in Adana. The people are absolutely delightful. I had a bus driver change his route to drop this confused foreigner to where he needed to go, a bar owner didn't let me pay for drinks and chatted to me through Google translate for hours and multiple offers to stay in strangers' houses. While walking into the centre from the bus stop people stopped to offer me a lift. Turkish people's welcoming and friendliness will never cease to amaze me.

  • Wow... please sir can I have some more sir

  • I loved my trip to Turkey for the food, they were one of many things that I loved.

  • That looks lovely 👍

  • Looks gorgeous and the bread looks top tier too

Buttered in the kebabs fat. Absolutely delicious.

  • Looks banging!

  • That is bang on 👌

  • Looks like a tasty treat

Does the meat have similar herbs?

With that salad as well, corrr, that’s a meal for a king!!

  • Better than a doner. I visited my family in Adana last week, ate some adana kebap(kıyma as we call locally) at İştah restaurant. One of the best turkish meat experiences ever. They were even tourists from europe visiting. Inıtıally they thought it was a doner shop but what they found was much more mesmerizing.

Lived in the us&uk about 6 years also stayed in Napoli for a while but I’m gonna have to say turkish food, esp. in 2020 is the best cuisine in the world, if you eat at a good place. It’s only competition is either Italian or French cuisine or maybe mexican.

  • im kinda in same boat- didnt really like adana but after tryn a few different ones- its actually really nice. this one looks great. really nice presentation on the flatbread stuff. did u get any of the hot chilli relish stuff? the last one i had fought back 😂
