Russian propaganda likes to tell stories of heroic deeds. They can boost morale and romanticise the war of aggression against Ukraine. But what happens when the truth alone is not enough for the authorities? Masha Borzunova meets a Russian deserter in Kazakhstan who reveals his identity for the first time and tells how he went from being a celebrated war hero to an ostracised traitor of his country.

That was a great watch.
Thank you for this one. Amazing!
Good luck to him I say, good documentary
I want to see the documentaries the other way around. Celebrated and romanticised Ukrainian soldiers who desert to russia.
Just ask the Russian propaganda ministry, they’ll certainly create what you wish to see if they haven’t got it already in stock.
You won't see those documentaries because those rubes are put on the front line, ordered to be bullet sponges, and left to rot where they die when they succeed in that objective.
Exactly as they deserve.
I like when you can just predict when someone has a hidden profile.
There aren’t any.
Very nice. What a world we live in....
