“Terrifying visions plague a free-spirited artist when she travels to a secluded cabin with the doctor she's been dating for one year.”

Defo disturbing, went into it blind. What a wild ride. Recommend

  • Yeah there was some pretty creepy visuals in this one.

    Definitely an interesting movie.

100% super creative …. out of the box.

    Happy Cake Day!! 🎂

  • I always feel like im a minority when it comes to Osgood Perkins. His movies have such great vibes and I love his stories and how he makes his movies, unfortunately the only one that hasn't been as good to me is The Monkey but I'll give that a rewatch sometime. Haven't seen Keeper yet but if it's like his other movies I'm sure im going to have a great time with this one too

I loved The Monkey but I can totally see why it wouldn’t appeal to you like his other films- definitely leaned heavily on the comedy. I really enjoyed Keeper. I was so weirded out but couldn’t take my eyes off the screen.

It’s the same with lars von trier films, in both cases extremely artistic and experimental. That’s what makes them both great directors and can’t wait to see what they do next.

  • his best yet in my opinion along with Gretel and Hansel

I did not see Hansel and gretel. Will checkout. Also this one seemed to have low reviews which kinda surprised me. As I really liked everything about it.

    Its really polarizing so far.

  • Being extremely vague does not make a movie good. I will agree that some designs were disturbing looking though.

Yeah I had to read a synopsis to fully understand the plot afterwards, and im still not sure I got it.

Its a great mood peice with some creepy designs though.

I will agree the feeling that they set out to do, they succeed in. It just they needed to clearly setup the rules in this movie because all you need to do is spend a few minutes thinking about things and it doesn't make sense. Which in turn begins to break them feels for me.

I mean, abstract cinema (even of the disturbing kind, like Eraserhead or Antichrist) has always been a thing. Not saying this film is on that level, just that there's nothing wrong in being vague and weird.

  • I thought it was beautiful and creepy but im not sure i fully got the ending.

  • I loved The Blackcoat's Daughter but after that Perkins hasn't been for me, we'll see with this one.

  • I really enjoyed this one … the atmosphere alone was effectively creepy can’t wait to watch it again honestly :)

  • Worried about renting since reviews werent great, but I watched it and was pleasantly surprised. Not a great film. Seemed like Perkins was mostly trying out unusual or creepy shots. Like he made this movie as a form of experimentation with a so-so story. A defimite rewatch, but for free next time.

I find the “box” thing very disturbing when he takes a smell of the garment and neatly stacks the box with others. The moment is horrendous and very sad
