Didn’t they give best community support to read dead 2 online and “most innovative gameplay” to starfield at one point. Obviously these are meme votes but im not sure of the long term respectability that the steam awards really garner lol.
I don't know about other games but IIRC genshin never got rewards for player's voice. We did got some for being nominated for best ongoing years ago. Not winning, just nominated.
I honestly expect neither of genshin or wuwa will win because the other 3 is way more popular this year. But in the end it's always the loudest community who won. Even in 2022 back when genshin won player's voice it wasn't because they love the game, but because they're being loud fighting against sonic.
The reason for wuwa community being loud now is actually understandable. seems like the game has delivered great updates since launch, the current state of the game is great, and even the upcoming expansion is really hyped up.
Yeah, 800 primogems for also being nominated for best mobile and best ongoing.
In 2021, we won best mobile and nominated for best ongoing, so we get 1600.
In 2023, we got nominated for player's voice and best ongoing again but didn't win, yet we still got 800, the same rewards.
Both last year and this year, we got nominated for player's voice but both times we didn't get any rewards.
So from the 2021 awards, I'm guessing we only got rewards for just being nominated and then more for winning one of the main awards, which is mainly jury voted. But looking at 2022 onwards, we didn't get any extra for one that's fully player voted. (Not even when we won in 2022)
This is false btw, Genshin back then didn’t even give free pull when they were nominated in 2023 Player voice , a stack year with Elden Ring on it, that year was just a spite vote because the Sonic Frontier community poke Genshin with more than slight jab at the other competitors (calling names and spreading hate), the Genshin community in China basically outvoted everyone to spite Sonic fandom, in the end Genshin players didn’t even get any pulls out of that, just a story to tell.
This years is idk how the hell Wuwa got it, especially vs all 3 large popular IPs like this.
I’ve seen this same sentiment multiple times and it’s really just revealing how little a lot of western gamers seem to understand just how big a fanbase these gacha games. They are fucking massive. Sure, you could argue that they get help by giving players incentives to vote in game, but that doesn’t suddenly devalue that a fuckload of people still play these games, especially Wuthering Waves. It is the top gacha game on the market and thats saying a lot given how competitive that field is.
E33 and especially Dispatch are tiny games. Dispatch sold maybe around a million and E33 sold around 4 million. I know we are invested in gaming but other then a select few games many are still niche. Like Wuthering Waves has tens of thousands playing daily on Steam. Imagine the mobile numbers.
why do you think black myth wukong won players choice? the simple answer is the population voting for these games is literally exponentially higher than any better game's population.
how are people surprised? yall realize that e33 and dispatch are majority western players right which is already a disadvantage in popularity contests? have yall been to east asia? and people in the west still wonder why studios are trying to pump out mobile games. the one time a chinese studio made a mainstream game, wukong, it also won player's choice. who would've thought..
They didn't offer anything, but gacha games give free pulls if they win awards. This is common practice and people who vote for gacha games are expecting pulls if they win.
For player voice? No 2023, Genshin won the vote for player voice, they got the pull not for this category, they got pulled from being nominated for Best ongoing, not Player voice.
They gave the same rewards for being nominated as best ongoing game on 2023 https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/A_Thank-You_Letter_to_All_Travelers/2023-12-09
Also they mentioned the rewards were because of winning player's voice + nominated for best ongoing game and best mobile game so can we really say winning player's voice affected the rewards
Yeah I mean anyone that was expecting dispatch or even E33 winning this category doesn’t understand the average gamer. Unfortunately f2p games will have a significantly larger fanbase.
Multiple games can be good at the same time. Dispatch kicks ass and so does WuWa - for totally different reasons. Dispatch is a powerhouse of a game and I hope the devs are proud.
What's even better is that WuWa had a rough launch with mid voice acting, terrible storytelling and performance issues. The devs went ahead and kept fixing the issues in subsequent patches and kept giving compensations, including a free 5 star who's still meta. Then 2.0 came which was basically a soft reboot with a new open world, tons of qol improvement, better story and voice acting with accents. And they kept improving and listening to player feedback, unlike it's competitor gacha game.
It makes more sense that the players are really loyal to this game.
People let the misinfo run wild as an ‘excuse’ for why these f2p games win instead of acknowledging that they have utterly massive Eastern playerbases.
Genshin and Wuwa have given rewards out to players if they win awards in the past and have made players come to the conclusion that if the game win awards they get in game rewards
Edit: I see a lot of posts about what happened at the TGA with people here calling out the gachas for bribing their players, Wuthering Waves and Genshin Impact only give out in-game rewards IF they win.
Genshin back in 2023 give out reward for being nominated for best ongoing, the playerbase didn’t get any pulls bonus from Player voice other than spiteful enjoyment toward Sonic Fandom poking the Genshin community.
I have played both games, love both, but y'all are too quick to undermine the other games achievements, both deserved, one of them won. I too voted for dispatch because it was engaging and fun for me. But wuthering did have a generational run in that space with the 2.x patches.

It's pretty simple, dispatch has a vastly smaller community. Even if everyone who played dispatch voted for it, there's still a very big chance WuWa would've beat it.
Why are so many of yall so toxic about this shit. Another game won because it's more popular in other regions of the world. Who cares if this game didn't get first place?
I saw a singular video of expedition 33 and I thought it was just a random run of the mill vanilla unknown game release of the year but somehow it won game of the year who tf is playing ts?
Yeah I stopped watching when I saw the game I least enjoyed this year was gonna sweep instead of at least having some degree of suspense with Metaphor/Astro Bot both cleaning up last year.
To the guys bashing WuWa, don't knock it 'til you try it. It's a gacha game with the quality of a triple A game. (Not beating the gooner allegations tho)
I genuinely believe it is solely because of how late in the year it came out. If it came out January of next year I’m confident it would have won quite a bit in the 2027 game awards
https://i.redd.it/5wvreunlvo6g1.gif
Me when I realize this is all just a narrative set up for the inevitable Dispatch Season 2 award sweep that will take place at the 2069 Game Awards:
I'm old. Hopefully I'm still alive in 2069.
Fake memories were planted in the players of the Dispatch game.
https://preview.redd.it/8db3p6kzvo6g1.png?width=2008&format=png&auto=webp&s=a39e8c220fe1c2708074ab58e36014db01d3fe67
Can I have a single award?
He did! He got best content creator!
"Please anyone but me"
Fucking wins
He's not Victor for nothing
Cause he's a Winner!!
Lmao
That sounds like something that would happen in the game.
Oh damn, forgot to watch Charlie's stream
Crap, same..
but sonar won content creator of the year
I'll take the half win
Half win, half bat, all freak.
No way wuthering waves won
I actually do not believe that it won
That’s some bullshit actually
The gacha games win player’s choice every year cause they offer free draws to the players when they win awards. It’s a feedback loop.
And this is why the main awards don't use popular vote.
Yeah pretty much
the main award is a much bigger deal and a lot harder to steamroll like this tho.
either way the yearly votes via Steam are always a better representation.
Didn’t they give best community support to read dead 2 online and “most innovative gameplay” to starfield at one point. Obviously these are meme votes but im not sure of the long term respectability that the steam awards really garner lol.
Lmao dude, GTAonline won labor of love one time on steam
That's just a popularity contest though, says nothing about quality
I don't know about other games but IIRC genshin never got rewards for player's voice. We did got some for being nominated for best ongoing years ago. Not winning, just nominated.

oh shit yeah I stand corrected. I forgot that the 2021 had more rewards than 2022 and 2023 even thought they won a category in 2022.
It's also interesting that in 2023 they never mentioned being nominated for player award and only for ongoing.
Gacha has only won 2/6 and the first one only happened because it somehow turned into Sonic vs Genshin.
Hoyo generally hasn't, not sure about WW though
This is false btw, Genshin back then didn’t even give free pull when they were nominated in 2023 Player voice , a stack year with Elden Ring on it, that year was just a spite vote because the Sonic Frontier community poke Genshin with more than slight jab at the other competitors (calling names and spreading hate), the Genshin community in China basically outvoted everyone to spite Sonic fandom, in the end Genshin players didn’t even get any pulls out of that, just a story to tell.

I wouldn't have minded losing to E33 but this one stings
Could have been worse, could have been Genshin
So it's between genshin and the game whose fanbase's entire personality is being above genshin. That's not exactly comforting
I take Genshin any time of the week. If I have to chose between a game and the other that pretends to be better, I take the first.
Wtf?? I love dispatch but I thought for sure Expedition 33 would have this in the bag
The game is beloved by critics and has a decent sized fan base but it's nothing compared to the gacha players.
You all have phones, right?
Is this some out of season April Fools joke?
Dispatch needed a Mobile release more than any.
Some Junior dev could easily add touch screen controls for Hacking & Dispatch.
The rest is a cut-scene simulator, Misplay really.
Asia's population goes brrrr.
Beloved by critics is starting to mean as much for video games as it does for movies
e33 is beloved by its fans too.. its just large gacha game communities are actively being given something to vote for their game
me too. I'm so disappointed :')
ohhh trust me, Even WUWA fan are not expecting WUWA to win lol.
WUWA’s execution demands are high enough that a lot of average players just get filtered
It honestly plays more like a PC game than mobile
I’ve seen this same sentiment multiple times and it’s really just revealing how little a lot of western gamers seem to understand just how big a fanbase these gacha games. They are fucking massive. Sure, you could argue that they get help by giving players incentives to vote in game, but that doesn’t suddenly devalue that a fuckload of people still play these games, especially Wuthering Waves. It is the top gacha game on the market and thats saying a lot given how competitive that field is.
Western gamer try not to ignore Asia challenge, impossible difficulty.
Western gamer still try to use SteamCharts to prove how popular their game is lol
As a WuWa fan I am absolutely astounded that it won againsy two titans.
I mean yeah sure, Wuwa itself has quality despite being a gacha... But compared to E33 and Dispatch...
Yeah its absolutely astounding
E33 and especially Dispatch are tiny games. Dispatch sold maybe around a million and E33 sold around 4 million. I know we are invested in gaming but other then a select few games many are still niche. Like Wuthering Waves has tens of thousands playing daily on Steam. Imagine the mobile numbers.
even then, for me who didn't even play E33 and is a wuwa player, it still seemed ovious that it should not have possible for it to win
why do you think black myth wukong won players choice? the simple answer is the population voting for these games is literally exponentially higher than any better game's population.
ive heard a few tines they botted the vote
you underestimate how popular wuwa is in the east
maybe but this has been a reoccuring problem with gacha games whenever theyre nominated for players choice since genshin
Sonic botted to beat Genshin, even Keighley commented on how easily Genshin won when they took all the bot votes out.
A gacha literally hasn't won Player's Voice since 2022.
how are people surprised? yall realize that e33 and dispatch are majority western players right which is already a disadvantage in popularity contests? have yall been to east asia? and people in the west still wonder why studios are trying to pump out mobile games. the one time a chinese studio made a mainstream game, wukong, it also won player's choice. who would've thought..
Gacha players like to bot for in game rewards
It's a combination of population size in China and it being a live service game. I don't think there was botting
Fucking gambling addicts man
We were so robbed😭
Robbed for the third time
Robbed Robbedson the Third
You made me laugh.. 😂

if only it was expedition 33, but no we lost to a gacha game
I play wuthering waves, I love the game but I voted for dispatch. The game offers free pulls as a “thank you” for winning
Nah, no pulls for winner were offered (doesn't mean they won't give them out though).
They did offer some currency if it got nominated, but not for winning.
Not true at all, they didnt offer shit. They gave currency as a thanks for nomination.
Dispatch, Silksong and Expedition got robbed, but at least dont spread misinformation bro
They didn't offer anything, but gacha games give free pulls if they win awards. This is common practice and people who vote for gacha games are expecting pulls if they win.
For player voice? No 2023, Genshin won the vote for player voice, they got the pull not for this category, they got pulled from being nominated for Best ongoing, not Player voice.
https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/A_Thank-You_Letter_to_All_Travelers/2022-12-10
It's literally the first result on google
They gave the same rewards for being nominated as best ongoing game on 2023 https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/A_Thank-You_Letter_to_All_Travelers/2023-12-09
Also they mentioned the rewards were because of winning player's voice + nominated for best ongoing game and best mobile game so can we really say winning player's voice affected the rewards
Okay, I know the context is this specific category, but saying "Expedition got robbed" after how last night went is honestly pretty funny
No it doesn't, what the fuck. You literally play the game and you're still spreading this lie lmao.
no they don't bro....
Literally misinformation, there is no confirmation of this.
It's still my GOTY, no matter who got the actual award.
Sometimes we win, sometimes Overwatch gets voted best game of 2016 over Doom or Uncharted 4
Never forget battleborn
It's alright dispatch is still an amazing game not winning will not change that
I wonder if the game get some nomination next year like Indiana Jones most but most likely no
THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING
https://preview.redd.it/s9pjesxkvo6g1.jpeg?width=321&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=019e81cd20a12cf8ee1ace7d6c8521a3bcb34e05
Is this the guy that locks in?
It’s from parasyte the maxim
Literally how Player's Voice Award felt, like us before ep 3 up to 8, in this scene. (Didn't find better gif)
The gooners won
How were they able to outvote us with just one hand?
You act like we aren’t as horny as they are, just not for anime characters lol
https://preview.redd.it/v5s3hf8rxo6g1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=59264a529f40b5584b7214cc3c1dc10916df262f
LOL
Clearly, not to that level. The fact they beat Clair Obscur as well is a very telling statement.
how were they able to get out of their goon website
But... we lost?
We lost to anime gooners
https://preview.redd.it/kazg4etvwo6g1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e399efb7e313313ccd5ec13db82536cfbea37cd
I was in devastation
Upvote and dig the UN.
Gacha Gooners did it again bro. Cmonnnnn 😭😭
Not even expedition 33 won? How much were the gooners bribed bro
With gooning material
Apparently not at all lol.
Apparently they offered a bribe for getting nominated, but I guess even they never anticipated winning cuz there were no rewards offered for that lol.
https://i.redd.it/aiwa18jewo6g1.gif
Where is this gif from?
Fan animation of Chloe Price from Life is Strange by youngechosugar (Inactive for 6 years now)
Unexpected Life is Strange, my GOTY like Dispatch
don't you forget about me.
Yeah I mean anyone that was expecting dispatch or even E33 winning this category doesn’t understand the average gamer. Unfortunately f2p games will have a significantly larger fanbase.
Rigged players voice
Well. You gotta admit, WuWa defo have a much bigger fanbase compared to Dispatch. Also, the game's been out since 2024
And Dispatch just what? Released on October this year?
It's already impressive enough for a game released only two months before TGA managed to made it into the last nominations.
Dispatch stood amongst giants with longer presence and fanbase.
Food for thought.
Thank you single sane person here. 🙏
And they kept improving and listening to player feedback, unlike it's competitor gacha game.
It makes more sense that the players are really loyal to this game.
That’s a good way to look at it, Dispatch came out swinging and carved a spot for itself.
Gachas bribe their players. I hate it
how did they bribe?
Gacha games always give rewards for their players voting
Oh shit fr? that's some bs
Also why tf am i downvoted, i just asked a question 😭
They give rewards for being nominated, not for winning anything
The misinfo is wild
People let the misinfo run wild as an ‘excuse’ for why these f2p games win instead of acknowledging that they have utterly massive Eastern playerbases.
Yup, agreed.
It's hilarious that Genshin only won that year because the Sonic subreddit pissed off the Chinese fan base.
They give rewards for being nominated, not for winning anything
I never even seen or heard of that game?
It’s a mobile game 😭😭
It’s funny bc it’s runs the worst on mobile. PC and console is better for playing wuwa
Ts so rigged dispatch 2 gonna get its lick back
nah man I'm even a fan of kuro games (the guys who made Wuthering Waves) and even I think Dispatch was cheated.
It's a players choice award, players chose.
Next time the awards are coming up, rally your friend groups and vote.
Dispatch came in hot and is still picking up steam, it didn't have the time needed to establish itself properly.
https://preview.redd.it/xajt2m7zcp6g1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a8f1d911ba67a22dcf52daf3fd64f06bcabdb27d
Im surprised that wuthering of all games won player voice
Gachas shouldnt be allowed to enter Game Awards
This is the clair obscur awards
tbf Clair Obscur deserves all the awards.
still wanted Dispatch to get something, though!
Came out too late and Split Fiction came out too early
Wuthering Heights was 2024!!!!
dispatch bros it's over
WW is a gacha game with much bigger playerbase. This is not suprising.
I have played both games, love both, but y'all are too quick to undermine the other games achievements, both deserved, one of them won. I too voted for dispatch because it was engaging and fun for me. But wuthering did have a generational run in that space with the 2.x patches.
Genuinely disappointed how toxic and jealous this sub is about these results, wuwa fans were paying their respects and appreciation to other games since most weren’t even expecting to have the game win but showing this reaction tells people what this community is like
Yes, I feel the same way. Such inmaturity and misinformation funning around just because Dispatch didn't won.
Being a fan of both games is really fun to see how the people are malding.
https://preview.redd.it/uysk1dva1p6g1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d2e341f2be8e5fc139db3cfd1c497f77427bf86
Me who plays both WuWa and Dispatch seeing everyone mad as fuck:

(Do think Dispatch should’ve won best Indie Debut tho for sure since E33 basically got a similar category).
Edit: As for Players Voice, I still give my vote to E33 winning because I genuinely love that fucking game so much.
Lol same, most of the people here don't know about wuthering waves.I wanted dispatch to win tho : (
It's pretty simple, dispatch has a vastly smaller community. Even if everyone who played dispatch voted for it, there's still a very big chance WuWa would've beat it.
Why are so many of yall so toxic about this shit. Another game won because it's more popular in other regions of the world. Who cares if this game didn't get first place?
Dispatch came out a bit too recent to have enough of a voting playerbase. The fact that it got nominated is an achievement.
Bro your on reddit suprised that people are toxic what else could you expect 😭
No Michael! No! No! Michael! That was so not right!
So sad! It deserved so much more recognition!
Tough competition. Most of us know what a gem the game is, and hopefully more in the future.
It deserved at least one award
https://preview.redd.it/5e1l818s7p6g1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=041a764b82c6f31e6627b1e3b65d0fbb00a7f8ef
At least could’ve been Hollow knight or expectation 33 but wuthering waves Hell nah gacha fan base is Crazy
A gacha game from 2024 beat us?! There’s no fucking way, run that shit back
It's not all bad, Sonar won an award!
https://preview.redd.it/wke5laf4cp6g1.jpeg?width=320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7cc0eb74fed20595c417ee89685a87db1b74a843
If it makes any difference I voted for Dispatch in every round.
WE WERE ROBBED
Man, fuck gachaslop gooner games. If not Dispatch, the Player's Voice award should've been given to either E33 or Silksong.
Jennifer English is hard to beat
Story is shit, voice acting is shit, dialog is so boring, not real player choice as always, you guys are glazing such a mediocre game
I saw a singular video of expedition 33 and I thought it was just a random run of the mill vanilla unknown game release of the year but somehow it won game of the year who tf is playing ts?
A FUCKING GACHA.
Welp ggs y'all, congrats to E33 and WuWa fans tho
https://preview.redd.it/rpanyqcuhp6g1.jpeg?width=1206&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d838e7326fbb62de17d29531554beba618d6561d
Well atleast wuwa didn't win the mobile game awards
I just hope the devs don't take this loss as a sign to not carry out a season 2
After hearing Clair Obscur win for the umteenth time I’ve decided to just go to bed, happy for them and all but ya know.. :/
If I knew that we wouldn’t get any awards, I would be sleeping already, lol
Yeah I stopped watching when I saw the game I least enjoyed this year was gonna sweep instead of at least having some degree of suspense with Metaphor/Astro Bot both cleaning up last year.
You guys severely underestimate the power of a horny guy.
Outvoted by gacha gooners.
gacha gooners strikes again...... what a BS community
To the guys bashing WuWa, don't knock it 'til you try it. It's a gacha game with the quality of a triple A game. (Not beating the gooner allegations tho)
Kcd2 got robbed too. But blame the journalists they choose not us
Journalists have nothing to do with Player's Choice. Its the one Award in the show that is voted on by only who voted online.
Wtf even is wuthering waves
An action game with crisp parry sounds and monster summoning. The Sekiro of gacha games.
Lost to some anime gooner shit no less. Adds insult to injury lol
See I love this comment because all I know about Dispatch is:
You guys have a gooner buff and still hate gooners
[ Removed by Reddit ]
Now i understand why AAA studios said Clair was bad for the industry...

Craaaazy
We were fucking robbed.
I genuinely believe it is solely because of how late in the year it came out. If it came out January of next year I’m confident it would have won quite a bit in the 2027 game awards
https://i.redd.it/06g2nf8h1p6g1.gif
Still my favorite game of the year though.
Dispatch will be GOTY in my heart.
Fuckin hell.
It was not fair. But still ! ADHOC won in our hearts ♥️
Hey you’re not the only one.
Definitely frustrating. I absolutely loved Dispatch. I played it through 3 times. I’ve yet to even complete Expedition 33.
Dispatch absolutely deserved to walk out with an award. There’s a ton of heart behind this game.
Thats why I said I didnt gave a shit about this event. Still voted but didnt gave a shit. We can still win steam awards tho.
And lost to a game I’ve never heard of (if it’s actually good lmk)
God damn it. I was hoping for it too. But I guess I can't be surprised. Still an absolutely goated game though
