Fyi if you sand your chip card down to just the "chip", it most likely won't work because there's other micro wires and things that make it work in the card.
I didn't see her use the tap function. She tapped it, the. There was an awkward cut to a receipt printing. Then another awkward cut to her walking away.
It didn't show it working.
The only part they saved where the chip contact points for when you insert the card.
It's poorly edited to show it working when it doesn't. The tapping and awkward cut to the receipt printing is them saying it worked. The candy bar segment would have no reason to exist if they acknowledged it didn't work and is purely decorative.
Some fursuiters are starting to put RFID tags in the noses of their fursuits so that when you want to see their social media, you can tap your phone to their nose lol
BobbyFingers dissolved the card plastic to extract the chip and wire, then embedded it into his mate's artificial eye. So he could pay for pints with his face.
She's using NFC and that's impossible without antenna. The chip sends out a signal that can be interpreted by the reader but to do so you need to get a specific amount of energy to the chip, which is done by induction. This needs a specific length of wire (within a certain range) to do so. Once the wire is even broken, it doesn't work anymore, even if there's a good amount of connected wire left.
I had an ID card to scan into work that got snapped at one point by accident, the same thing. It's not just the barcode, there's a strip inside the card that if broken won't scan.
It’s because they’re pushing their proprietary tap to pay - I believe it’s called “Walmart pay,” or something similar, and it requires putting your card info into the Walmart app and then using the app to pay. It’s totally inconvenient and I’m honestly shocked that they’re still trying to get it to catch on.
It isn’t catching on precisely because most customers aren’t willing to use a one-trick pony app for exactly one store only.
Very few people shop exclusively at Walmart, most people also shop at six or more other stores, and most of them don’t want Walmart to have access to their credit cards.
I mean the whole thing is bait and if you do the first one, you need to go to the bank and get a new card because that ain't gonna work. It is literal slop clickbait.
If you think the narration is that funny, just move to the South, it gets old fast.
Rest easy, you ain't losing shit. The chip itself won't work with a bunch of other shit attached to it. Which is 100% why there's a cut between "payment" and the receipt printing
The chip is not the only functioning part of the card. If you cut out just the chip to do this, it won’t work anymore. You’ll have destroyed your card.
That's not how Rfid works actually. Or even non rfid credit cards if they were reading the chip directly. It's jus one of those scummy fake 5 minute crafts
There's a whole antenna wire system hidden into your card that is required to be able to be able to use the chip. So yeah, this video is faked quite horribly, especially with all the jumps in recording
This destroys the structural integrity of the faux nail you’re building with the dual form. So not only will the chip not work but your extension will fall off or you’ll harm your finger/natural nail. Best case scenario is you have a weirdly bulky nail.
Yea this is BS. It won’t work. There are antenna wires around the inside of the card. If you remove just the chip it will no longer work for NFC as you’ve destroyed the coil.
Yeah, that's the same concept l, uhhh they invesnted RFID tech for... and now is small enough you could have all of your bank cards tied to a chip you can implant
I’ve had transit cards break bc a small crack broke the thin wire of the antenna.
I have wanted, for YEARS, to be able to make like a signet ring and be able to just wave my hand to board the bus/train instead of having to dig out my wallet or phone. But as far as I know it needs that antenna wire to function.
Fyi if you sand your chip card down to just the "chip", it most likely won't work because there's other micro wires and things that make it work in the card.

Huh. Learn something new everyday. And I guess that means this video had to be staged, or they wired those wires into her nail? DIWhy for sure.
Yeah there's a jump cut that they tried-ish to hide with abrupt motion before the receipt came out.
there is also a weird jump cut after they sand down the chip, you can see a blue strip turn white when it happens
Five minutes craft staging a video? They would never!!
You can see the cut where they pay with a different method.
Yes the video is completely fake. The exposed chip is not the wireless chip.
Wires like that are usually antennae. Likely for the tap function.
The part she kept is just the exposed contact lines for the chip reader.
She uses the tap function on it. The contacts are covered in plastic.
And without an antenna it wouldn't work. (The antenna is tuned to the right frequency it doesn't just increase range)
Yes I know how antenna works.
I didn't see her use the tap function. She tapped it, the. There was an awkward cut to a receipt printing. Then another awkward cut to her walking away.
It didn't show it working.
The only part they saved where the chip contact points for when you insert the card.

Right
The antenna also delivers an inductive charge to the chip, without it it's just dead metal.
Huh. I wonder if there's a way to cram the antenna apparatus and NFC tag into the form factor of a fingernail extension.
Nfc yes, some RFID tags as well.
Some fursuiters are starting to put RFID tags in the noses of their fursuits so that when you want to see their social media, you can tap your phone to their nose lol
Maybe not a fingernail but it does work in a ring...

BobbyFingers dissolved the card plastic to extract the chip and wire, then embedded it into his mate's artificial eye. So he could pay for pints with his face.
Yup that's the "insert" chip, RFID for tap to pay is fully internal and the antenna is a good chunk of the card.
That’s why there is a cut in the video before the receipt prints
Yup
They work like an antenna.
The chip might work without those wires but it would be more difficult to be read, especially from a distance.
It depends on the card.
Are you telling me that clearly noticeable cut in that scene was when they had to use an actual card to pay for that candy? I’m incensed.
Yes. You’re talking about a loop. That is true but there’s no necessity of a ‘perfect NFC antenna’ when distance is practically near zero.
You're right. A loop makes it easier than just an open antenna. Haven't thought about that.
goodbye antenna
That's why there were 2 edits after she touched the cardreader. It didn't work.
Yup.
I had an ID card to scan into work that got snapped at one point by accident, the same thing. It's not just the barcode, there's a strip inside the card that if broken won't scan.
Thats why there's a cut in the video between putting the chip on the scanner and the printing of the recipt, because it did not work.
But I was so looking forward to people doing this. would be great to steal cards with a handshake.
Yeah those wires are necessary for the chip to work. That's how it gets power - low energy induction. This would absolutely not work lol
Yeah the chip doesn't get used directly with tap to pay but instead the antenna they sanded away.
it is worth noting however that nfc nails can still be done, probably not with a credit card though
Yep RFID antenna surrounds the center of the card, it'd most likely struggle to get signal
Those micro wires are just an antenna that make it easier to transmit the signal, it would work without it, just less good.
That thing with the card would never work for payments. You would need the whole NFC circuit, including the antenna.
But I guess that's the idea of this ragebait, to engage in the comments, which I just did!
So what you are saying is that there are vids online that are fake 🤣
I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to put fake stuff on the internet.
True. Which is why this reply is an example of godel’s theorem
Even if it did she would be screwed at places that don’t accept tap to pay
To be fair, I only use tap to pay, don't even carry a card, and never had any problem in years.
Walmart where I’m at will not allow tap to pay- no idea why. I don’t know if that’s everywhere but it’s a pretty major retailer that does it
I'm not american, so i can't comment on that, but I'm yet to find a retailer that doesn't allow tap to pay, large or otherwise.
But it's wild that a major retailer like Walmart wouldn't allow it at one of their stores. Won't they lose customers?
It’s because they’re pushing their proprietary tap to pay - I believe it’s called “Walmart pay,” or something similar, and it requires putting your card info into the Walmart app and then using the app to pay. It’s totally inconvenient and I’m honestly shocked that they’re still trying to get it to catch on.

You took the bait but not on their YouTube video. They gained nothing.
Wait, what the hell is the thing at the end of the video supposed to be?
I do not know
Bait, to get you to go find their channel to see what happens next.
This whole video is gross.
Dude the narration is hilarious, what do you mean gross?
I mean the whole thing is bait and if you do the first one, you need to go to the bank and get a new card because that ain't gonna work. It is literal slop clickbait.
If you think the narration is that funny, just move to the South, it gets old fast.
Did you watch it with sound? Because the entire point of the video is the narrator making fun of what they’re doing
It's very clearly someone narrating over a different creator's video, please get a grip. They're mocking the slop.
More baffling engagement bait to get people to comment is my best guess.
Asking the real questions
You’ve never seen a thingamabob before?
Should have used the middle finger
Fuck you, take my money
Came here to say this too.
Use 5 fingers for discount
not just any discount. 5 fingers is free coz infinite discount since you have collected all 5.
So when your nail falls off, you’ve just lost your credit card? Also, if the place you’re at doesn’t have tap to pay I guess you’re just out of luck?
Rest easy, you ain't losing shit. The chip itself won't work with a bunch of other shit attached to it. Which is 100% why there's a cut between "payment" and the receipt printing
My favorite was the part at the end, only because we didn’t have to see the rest of it.
They completely disintegrated the antenna of the receiver on the card thats tied to the chip
The chip on its own does nothing, congrats, you now have a chip in a fingernail, literally does nothing
They didnt show the payment itself because they used a card
Ugh, it’s not even cute like ?? At least make it cute if you’re gonna be diabolical
Thats not even the chip for contactless payments ...
There’s a conspicuous jitter just before the receipt prints that looks suspiciously like a cut in the video.
That's because the chip used is the chip for inserting in the chip reader. It's not the NFC tag for doing contactless transactions.
Was about to say. Pretty steady hand but you're not fooling us!
Someone should tell this girl she can use her phone to pay nowadays....
I went to Australia a year ago and everyone looked at me like I was a bozo whenever I used a card.
By the end of my trip I agreed I also looked like a bozo using my card because damn the phone is so easy.
You sand all the antennas in the card away...this can't work
Because having to get a new credit card every time your nail falls off without you realizing is better then having to pull your wallet/phone out?
Is... Is that Bruce?
Came here looking for this guy.
"Pretend yall little bugs caught in my web"
There's no room for the nail under that. It's just flat. That shit will fall off in 10 minutes and take the top of the nail with it.
NFC is what's needed to tap, not the chip
There's no way that nail bullshit worked. You can't pop just the chip out and have it still work with no antennas.
I swear the voice over sounds like him
That's not the NFC chip though 🫠
"Shit! My nail broke off! Where'd it go?"
MOOSEN!
Many much moosen in the woods! In the woodsen!
"please insert card/use pin"
The chip is not the only functioning part of the card. If you cut out just the chip to do this, it won’t work anymore. You’ll have destroyed your card.
Missed opportunity - should have glued that nail to her middle finger ;)
Can I just have that chandelier? 💚
Not anymore
Once again, this is not how tap to pay works. The RFID/NFC chip is on the other end and is covered by plastic.
Isn’t it the magnetic strip or coil or whatever it is that does the contactless thing?
That's not how Rfid works actually. Or even non rfid credit cards if they were reading the chip directly. It's jus one of those scummy fake 5 minute crafts
There's a whole antenna wire system hidden into your card that is required to be able to be able to use the chip. So yeah, this video is faked quite horribly, especially with all the jumps in recording
I'm sorry, what in the fuck is happening in clip #2?
This is how every post on here should be narrated. Lol
Why not to put it in the middle finger.
That would be better for injury prevention
🤣
The nail looks absolutely shitty anyway
What happens when it asks you to use chip reader to verify pin as it does sometimes at random?
I broke my nail and my nail is broke 🙁
i like the cut right before the recipe pops out.
they can't even hold the camera still.
Finger got a little too close to the belt for my taste
you can see a cut when the camera pans down and prints the reciept
This voiceover belongs on all of these videos
I like it.
What’s so hard about Apple Pay, google pay? I have mine on my smart watch
What in the ebt
Imagine needing the numbers for online purchases
Nice cut to when the receipt comes out.
They did a nice transition... but not quite good enough.
I need more of this in my life 🤣
Missed opportunity to put it in the middle finger
"because I don't generate enough microplastics in my normal day-to-day..."
Sounds similar to how Ed Bassmaster talks. "Oh would ya look at this!"
I need more of Paula XD
Hated it the first time it was posted guy…
That sounds like the gay guy from family guy.
Reference
Bruce.
I had no idea how much more entertaining these videos would be with him narrating.
Don't give my fiancé any ideas.
yeah why use the card when you can just order a new card every 9 days and cure it into a thick unpainted presson
Who's talking 😂
Wrong finger
Thank God it doesn't look like absolute shit...
Guys, I think this might be satire
You thought wrong
Bobby Fingers put one in his friend's glass eye and it works.
Who is this? I MUST follow them!
"Oh no, my chip chipped off and fell into a storm drain"
This destroys the structural integrity of the faux nail you’re building with the dual form. So not only will the chip not work but your extension will fall off or you’ll harm your finger/natural nail. Best case scenario is you have a weirdly bulky nail.
I still have many questions…
That's a painful way to get robbed
Nice cut away when the payment happens.
God, that was stupid. Why have the chandelier slam onto the ground?
Would it even be possible to make something like that that actually worked if the rest of the wires inside the card were obtained?
Bad video crop, bot.
What happens when you need the card numbers but don't remember them?
Wrong finger, though.
The most ugly and stupid thing I’ve seen today
I mean it’s best. But so is using my phone or my watch instead. Plus it doesn’t take so much work and I don’t have to do it again every 4 years or so.
DUDE HE SOUNDS JUST LIKE JEFFREY FROM FAM GUY
I wonder how many people have ruined their credit cards believing shit like this.
Im just so confused to why anyone would even try to pass this off as a thing to do???
Yea this is BS. It won’t work. There are antenna wires around the inside of the card. If you remove just the chip it will no longer work for NFC as you’ve destroyed the coil.
Yeah, that's the same concept l, uhhh they invesnted RFID tech for... and now is small enough you could have all of your bank cards tied to a chip you can implant
Its not even the chip that does the contactless thing lmaooooo
I need to stop seeing this
I want this narration on everything posted here 🤣
The chip needs its antenna, it won't work like this.
The horror
I’ve had transit cards break bc a small crack broke the thin wire of the antenna.
I have wanted, for YEARS, to be able to make like a signet ring and be able to just wave my hand to board the bus/train instead of having to dig out my wallet or phone. But as far as I know it needs that antenna wire to function.
