Can you log into the database and update my booking to have the flag for "NameWasChanged" or equivalent to false so I can add the remaining 3 letters of my surnname...
For context: I signed in with gmail which does not include the double-barrel part of my name and it created a duplicate "me" without the double barrel and I stupidly fucking clicked the wrong one and only realised once I paid. I got onto support but they said they won't add the last missing 3 letters because I tried to change it already. However if that little boolean value was to mysteriously be updated back to false...
I'll literally pay you the β¬115 on Revolut just so Ryanair doesn't get it
Sorry pal, I'm too busy at the moment but I opened port 5432 so you can do it yourself. Username is postgres, password is hunter2.

Oops
Ah, hunter2 β¦. Love it π
That's weird, all I see for the password is *******
Can you not fly single-barrel?
It's double barrel on the passport
But a second ticket for the other barrel. Its ryanair, likely to be less than the 115
The return flight was β¬67 in total as well π literally cheaper just to make a new booking
Would it be a problem if they donβt match? People have middle names on their passports but opt not to put the middle name on their tickets.
It actually isn't a problem, but the support agent I contacted did not mention this to me, so I tried to update it myself and now I can't revert it.

Middle names and the second part of a double-barrel name are not required. I went through the booking process again to see where I made the mistake and I noticed the field labels were "First Name" and "First Surname" which is how I found the above link.
I seem to have a knack for finding edge cases when software is involved... good for my profession, bad for when I'm the user π₯
Do they even cross-check it anywhere if you do the "check in" on the app?
I think I remember there being a name field with the rest of the passport details, but the last two times at least I flew anywhere with them they never saw the inside of my passport.
So.. little update, turns out Ryanair does not require the second part of a double barrel name.
However I added the first 3 letters of the double barrel part, so now I have an incomplete surname on the booking, and I can't change it back to the original-actually-correct version without paying the β¬115.
Sigh.
You could always just checking in online and arriving at the gate with your passport. Act dumb and say it's the ticket surname must have been cut-off on the Ryanair side and it's happened before.
yeah I don't think they will give a fuck or even notice
You never know what sort of jobsworth could be working on the ground. Although in my experience Ireland-based ground staff tend to be very nice and reasonable.
I managed to sort it out anyway, without paying the fee. Won't lie, I'm feeling pretty good about myself to get out of that one.
There was this time I travelled with my full name on "given name" and my first name on "family name" lol
For context: I'm Brazilian and bought a ticket from some sketchy online agency where the site got auto-translated to Portuguese from Portugal, so what I saw in the passenger registration form was:
Needless to say, in English that means "given name"/"family name". In Brazil however we use the word "apelido" with the meaning of "nickname". So in my flying ticket I had something like:
I was a bit tense but it worked out alright and no one asked a thing.
