Hi, I'm looking for an approximate range for a data scientist at a large american bank (Citi/JPM/BNY/BOA/HSBC) with a couple years experience. Is €60k - 70k accurate ish? Unsure if I should be counteroffering ....
No idea why people are overindexing on couple meaning 2 (couple literally means "2" so not sure why it's ambiguous haha).
I would say it's about right, maybe a tiny bit low. For an SDE I would have said it was on the lower side but as far as I understand DS usually pays a little bit less so it "feels" about right for a junior/mid-junior sort of position
Unless you've already discussed your expected salary range and they're right on it, you can always negotiate with the recruiter who is making you an offer. Something like "thanks for your offer of X, I was hoping it would be more towards Y, is there any movement possible?"
Couple years like 2? You’re probably closer to 55k. If it’s 5 years then I would say yeah.
Correct it’s 2. Interesting thanks!

By "a couple" do you mean 2?
Yep haha. “Couple” doing a lot of lifting there.
Then I think the offer is fair enough tbh.
