I’m at a very low point in my life right now.
I traded my previous car for a new 2026 car and just got it last week. I installed my old dashcam (with a suction cup near the rearview mirror) temporarily until I have time to install my other dashcam (adhesive) and hide the wires. Sadly the suction didn’t hold well and the dashcam fell later and scuffed the dashboard.
I hate this car and regret it and everything else in my life right now and I’m not doing well. Can someone please give me just a little bit of positivity and tell me that this scuff is removable / fixable? If so, is it doable alone or should I take it to a detailing shop? And how much would this cost approximately? I live in QC.
Thank you and sorry for the rant.
Mate, I know this ding seems to be the icing on a pretty big shit cake right now but it’s not the end of the world. At the end of the day it’s only a car but you’re far more important. If you need help, ask for it brother. Wishing you well from the other side of the pond.
Thank you for your support and nice words
The more you mess with it the worse it’ll get. Leave it alone and see if you still care in a few weeks. I promise you only you’ll notice :)
Thank you
Im betting you can buy replacement trim for cheap. I accidentally scratch one of my plastic trim and it was was $40 to replace
Where can one find such replacement trims?
Most dealership will have a websites where they sell parts. Or you can search up the (Year)(Model) and front screen trim or something along those line
Amazon, Ebay etc.
What car, model & trim?
Realistically no, you might be able to fix it if the scratch isn't that deep but i doubt the scratch is on the surface. Maybe buy a nice suction rubber duck you can put over it.
Thanks for the honesty and the chuckle
Atleast its not white ultrasuede interior like mine !… just imagine that
Imagine!
Stick a music note sticker over it. 🎵
That trim from the dealer even isn't crazy priced if it bothers you.
You need to buy a new trim piece. But the problem is with parts like that, you'll end up scratching something else during removal. If I were you, I’d probably just leave it as is, or get a carbon cover from Aliexpress.
