Broncos fan from Toronto going to be working in the USA around there and might fly in for the game!
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is Denver safe? And are there reasonable hotels within a 15-20 minute cab ride of Mile High?
And I am going to assume theres a nice tailgate as well. Can we donate for some beverages and food like many other stadiums?
Thanks in advance.
And are prices really that crazy? Damn!
/milehighsalute!
Don't wear your Bills jersey and you will be ok
Probably gonna wear #30 ! You know who that is!
David Bruton
Philip Lindsay? 😅
Terrell Davis
He played for Oklahoma
Stay in Downtown and you can even walk from there! YES Denver is Safe!
Ok great thanks!
Some people will say it’s not safe but compared to plenty of other big cities it’s really not that bad. Downtown is perfectly fine now a days. Maybe don’t go down colfax ave west of the stadium (mostly because it just looks sketchy). I’d recommend staying near Union station or in LOHI for quick access, you’ll be able to take the light rail from the airport, then scooter or walk to mile high. Have fun!
Ok great! Yeah seems like its nice with some reviews online and I think the game is going to be during the day? they didnt even post the time yet somehow.
I used to live down there, it's not too bad, more poor than dangerous, and that's really only for a couple miles, once you cross sheridan (near casa bonita) it gets less sketchy.
But yeah, it's a city, a few areas are worse than others, but it's generally pretty safe. I lived in and around lakewood and denver for most of my adult life and never really had any issues.
Definitely not safe here. Don’t come. I could try to safely dispose of those tickets for you though.
Hahaha
But in all seriousness- most of Denver is pretty safe, but like all places there are locations that aren’t great.
Uber/Lyft after the game sucks bc they send you walking across the interstate to get to the ride share pickup spot. I’d recommend staying downtown over the suburbs. Between being walkable/scooter/bikeable, and the restaurants and scene there, that’s where I’d stay if I didn’t live here. Even though on google maps my suburban location might show up as 20-25 minutes, on game day that could become 45
My wife and I flew in for the Green Bay game (wearing our orange and blue to be clear) and stayed at The Curtis Hotel. Not once did we feel unsafe. We agreed that our next trip for a game we will stay there again. She did a lot of research on downtown vs LODO etc. taking the bus or walking was very doable! Go Broncos!
Glad to hear this! My fiance and I are flying into Denver for the game in a few days are staying at The Curtis
Highly recommend grabbing a sandwich at Snarfs and breakfast at Sam’s!
Thank you! We will check them out!
One more recommendation for staying at the Curtis and eating at Sam’s across the street….
After the game there will be crowds of thousands of people walking back to that area. You will be fine. Have fun!!!!!
Don't look Blucifer straight in the eyes - the rest is pretty easy.
Beyond that realize the airport is a ways out but it's not too bad to get into Denver and people make too big of a thing about that. Maybe 40 mins to downtown depending on traffic.
Denver is safe but there has been some challenges with homeless people sadly around downtown. Mostly they are harmless but don't be alarmed if they yell at you, ask for a sandwich or money. It's gotten better since post covid.
The areas around the stadium are dodgy for parking vehicles - I got my car broken into but if you take uber you will be fine.
Beyond that Colorado is one of the very best states in the nation, so much fun stuff to do. It's a shame you aren't renting a car and go to boulder, Estes park and so many places.
I’m flying in from LA and staying downtown. Tons of areas to walk and I’m taking the light rail to/from the game.
If you live in Toronto, you’ll have zero problems with safety or navigating Denver. Have fun!
Denver’s safe don’t let anybody fear monger you, lots of options to stay and travel close.
Unrelated, but I’m about to go watch your local hockey team tonight. 😂
I know I wish this was on Friday that would have been epic. Be nice we stink this year.
Denver is relatively safe, aside from the sketchier spots that all major cities have. Don’t walk around in the middle of the night if you don’t want possibly unpleasant interactions, otherwise I expect your visit to be a good one. And make sure you’re extremely loud and supportive of the team while at the game, that’s maybe the most important thing to keep in mind.
Flights
Denver is generally safe. There are many hotels nearby and within walking distance to Empower Field. Look at Springhill Suites, Westin near 16th Street, or any hotels near Union Station. I think there is a Courtyard right next to the stadium.
There is also a light rail if you prefer that instead of waking or rideshare. If you decide on rideshare, I think the pick up spot is near Ball Arena (about 10-15 min walk from Empower Field).
Try to visit other areas in CO if you’re able while you’re there working. It’s a lovely state. We visit several times a year.
Have fun and safe travels!
Stay in RiNo. Great neighborhood. Was there for that epic Giants game
It's very safe
Be careful, in Aurora migrants eat peoples pets.....
Bring chapstick and keep water close at all times.
