If you really feel that post is an attempt to brigade another subreddit, that's one thing, but it seems to me to be a good faith attempt to provide relevant information.
This feels like one of those moments where people need to stop arguing details and look at the reality in front of us.
If armed, masked people in unmarked vehicles can detain or kill someone without clearly identifying themselves, then ordinary people are being placed in a situation where fear and confusion are guaranteed. That is not a mistake. That is a design choice.
This is not about left or right, Democrat or Republican. Those labels keep people distracted and divided while the same system continues doing what it wants regardless of who is in office. Power does not change hands anymore. It just changes language.
A society cannot function when citizens are expected to calmly accept situations that would look like violent crime in any other context. If the only answer is “comply and hope you survive,” then something fundamental has already broken.
People should not have to guess whether they are being kidnapped or detained. They should not have to trust that accountability might come later after someone is already dead. When that becomes normal, the problem is no longer a single agency or incident. It is the system itself.
At some point, standing up does not mean chaos or violence. It means refusing to accept fear, silence, and normalization as the price of living here. It means demanding transparency, identification, and accountability as non negotiable, not optional.
If we cannot even agree that human life should not depend on guessing correctly in a moment of terror, then we are already far closer to tyranny than most people want to admit.

That said, the officer obviously has enough time to side step the car and shot her from the side of the vehicle. Should she have complied and not attempted to flee? Sure. Did her actions warrant a lethal response by the federal officers? Most certainly not.
There are several longer videos out there, but she was turning around in the street to leave. She had even waved another ICE vehicle to go past her & they did with no incident. She waved for the truck to go by too, but the ICE officers in the truck decided to stop & escalate the situation for some reason. Here's one showing that (from X though).
If you're still curious, go to the various subreddits that have posted the videos I linked above and you'll see more. There were a lot of people filming the whole thing.

I would like to respectfully disagree - the agent was trying to force her door open. We know what happens to people who get ripped out of their cars by ICE and I do NOT blame her for bolting. Also reporting on the issue says that another agent yelled at her to leave and that is what she was complying with. TBF, I am pretty easily cowed, so I'd probably have made a different choice, but honestly I don't think I've ever made a choice under intimidation that I didn't regret later. We can't know how we will respond in a life-or-death (or in this case, death by shooting or by rotting in a detention center somewhere but whereabouts unknown) situation until we face one.
I think cause people are in here complaining about where the video is coming from (cause it’s from X), and then there’s also people who are asking for better views/more of the interaction. I wouldn’t take it personally.

To anybody complaining about protests taking place in your city for a crime that occurred in another state: If you don’t have pride as an American, atleast have pride as a Coloradan.

I can see that also there may be a way to get communications from protest organizers. Protesting in front of an empty building after hours is performative. Protesting probably makes the protesters feel better but protests aren't effective unless they're disruptive and if they're disruptive then they're illegal. You have to break a few eggs to skin this cat, or something like that

I would be super careful going out to the Capitol for this stuff. They have aerial drones, HALO security systems, and FLOCK cameras. If folx actually have ties to the immigrant community, the Capitol is ground central where the Fed will identify and track protesters.

Good luck! I actually do stuff around the city and work with vulnerable communities. So I care, I live at the Capitol. I have been protesting up until now. I got in touch with communities that impact actual change here locally. I don't see the point in losing my housing or attracting unnecessary attention for events that largely do not impact change. Visibility is a trap.
I have been out there at every protest at the front, and I don't see anything that we have been accomplishing, and most people are not active in the community in any meaningful sense. They show up to protest and perform 🎭. That's it.

Yes protests can be performative. Yes ppl are willfully ignorant and oblivious. But that is why visibility helps. PR is PR, I don't like it. But it is what it is.
Protests do help just not in the ways we like. It's learning to network, organize, pull communities together. Getting ppl who are non political or who have never been to one out. It's the baby steps in real resistance. It's the show of numbers. It's making ppl realize that online dog pile of maga is not as real as strong as it seems.
While I think local, small acts add up and are important. I also think it is bigger than that now. The world is preparing to act against the US. Other countries are rightfully pissed and concerns of war is extremely high.

For those who are not vulnerable or in contact with vulnerable communities, I always say punks to the front. But I dont want to see folx unnecessarily placed in harm's way, 'kettled', and fined/charged. For poor folx, it can mess things up for life, for folx with money it'll sting, but some of the new fines are outrageous. I have been on the radar for a long time, and protested nationally/internationally. I live at the Capitol, and can lose my housing if things get too wild or I catch charges, and work with immigrants and the unhoused now.
I got into it with the agitators last time, and I feel like that was silly. It is fun, but also people got hurt. I am focused on mutual aid and community work. I wanna get my lifesaver certs and first responder stuff together and go into social work, legal advocacy as a form of retirement.
That’s how I feel tbh. I’m probably on some list already for protesting in the last ~8 years. Just a matter of time before the feds punish me for it.

I live at the Capitol in HUD without a vehicle, 500 feet from the steps. I am all too aware. I support the movement. I do what I can volunteering and with grassroots organization. I just wanted to point out that this is an area where kettling and tracking potential is high. This is an epicenter of FED action and surveillance.
My main point was if you have ties to vulnerable populations like the immigrant community, do not attract attention to them where you will be most visible to ICE. I don't get why folx cannot understand, that if they or people they know are legally vulnerable going to the Capitol is not a great idea.

There is no evidence whatsoever that Renee was protesting or participating in anything related to anti-ICE operations. She and her wife had just dropped their 6 year old off at school and were on their way home. They got caught in an ICE operation and forced to turn around. When they weren't doing all of the several different things multiple agents were screaming at them immediately, an ICE agent executed her.
