Maybe an unpopular opinion I don’t see the game mentioned much here. I think sword of mana is fantastic game. It was one of the first games I beat when the GBA came out. Anyone else enjoy this one?
This subreddit has the flaw of Pokémon usually stealing the spotlight from other games tbh.
Then again I’m sort of just tired of pokemon in general after playing every generation and I decided to bounce onto some older games I never had the chance to play.
I’ve been falling in love with final fantasy, fire emblem, shantae, and currently rhythm heaven. Looking to get into castlevania the handheld games after playing symphony of the night.
I’d say you’d LOVE FF1, FF5, and maybe advance tactics due to being able to choose how you can run/built your characters. I think the main appeal for pokemon is probably the simplicity and choice of the games
I’m playing right now actually. Very underrated game. I played it when I was in 8th grade and loved it back then and it still holds is own till this day. Great gameplay, art style, and surprisingly the rpg systems are good for a GBA game. I debate myself all the time if I might like it more than a link to the past or not. I have secret of mana to play next and will probally stream visions of mana and play that one as well.
It’s a great game that I got when it originally released, but I honestly return to the original game boy version (called final fantasy adventure in the US) more often
In my opinion, Trials Of Mana on the snes, couldn’t believe how much content was packed into it! A lot of replayability with different party choices etc too. I haven’t actually played the remake but probs will at some point!
Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre, Megaman Battle Network Series, Tales of Phantasia, Summon Night, Robopon, Monster Rancher 1 & 2, Fire Emblem, Demikids, Bomberman Tournament and Shining Soul 2 are all some of my favourites I've played over the years.
Can't speak for delta, but these are all games I've played on other emulators.
I haven’t played this but I very distinctly remember reading about it in a Nintendo Power magazine waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy back in the day. This image unlocked a random almost long lost memory.
The translation was a bit wonky and dated, but it is a wonderful remake/reboot. I’m not sure why it gets all the hate that it does. The art style is lovely, the controls are tight and the music sounds pretty good for the console.
Highly recommend Golden Sun 1 and 2 if you like GBA rpgs.
Played 1 not 2. Great game 👍🏼
2 definitely feels a lot bigger for sure

What are some ff games you recommend? I’m kind of stuck in the Pokemon hole and I don’t know how to get out of it

I loved advanced wars and fire emblem back then
Dropping by just to throw out Metroid Fusion as a recommendation as well. Probably my favorite GBA game.
Same vein, metroid: zero mission was also awesome.
Just started a run of Metroid: Desolation which is a romhack based off of Zero Mission I believe!
It probably doesn't help that Pokemon is probably the only reason some people want to even emulate GBA games.

Couldn’t agree more
I loved this game
I'll shamelessly plug myself.
I made a YouTube video about this game.
I will check it out 👍🏼👍🏼

ITs amazing! The graphics and amount of detail in the world is truly a spectacle.

I recently finished the OG version for the GB and was very happily surprised at how good it was
Absolutely brilliant. Probably not the best mana game by any means but I’ve played this through a few times now & love it.
Which one do you think is the best one in your opinion?

I’ve been stuck in the first zone forever I gotta circle back and figure it out 😆

Never played, it’s definitely on my list though

I’m actually almost finished with this as I’m trying to play through the whole series and it’s very good
I have it on delta great game beat it as a kid
This was the first and only game that I had enough money to get back when I was 19 and got my first GBSP!!
I thought it was great and the fact that I only had enough money to get one game, I felt like I chose a good un!!!
