It's amazing how deranged the hate for AI has gotten that just the word "prompt" causes these people to throw a temper tantrum. No generating new music, not taking anything away from artists, just a simple playlist.
I don't even get why they're mad about this one. It's literally just an AI scouring Spotify for songs you specifically asked it to find. Unless I'm misunderstanding it, it doesn't generate music or anything, it just finds what's already on Spotify and adds it to a playlist.

I run a few online communities, don't care if I have people in who are anti or pro, but the moment I get someone privately messaging me going 'so and so just posted some AI slop can you take it down', I just give them the punt.
Pure hivemind behavior at this point. The words “AI” and “prompt” automatically trigger an explosive (in one way its an exaggeration, in the other way it is not unfortunately) reaction in these people even if something is potentially a great feature that saves you so, so much time

There is something really suspicious going on with these anti-AI posts. A lot of these seemingly viral and "popular" posts have oddly inconsistent amounts of interactions in comparison to the like and view counts, sometimes the reposts/quotation count is also suspiciously low. For example I've seen various posts with around 50k to 100k likes with millions of views, sometimes up to almost 10M, but only about 10 quotations and reposts around 1 to 5k, with a few or even no replies at all.
Some of them also have more than 10k followers but have almost no interactions and impressions on
all of their other posts at all.
I think spotify is a shit company and this idea is also a great idea. Sometimes you want a specific type of music but you can't really describe it. Not sure I trust them to deliver on it though. They'll probably put Sabrina Carpenter in every playlist.

As a side note YouTube music has had this feature for several months. It works okay enough, although I haven't really stress tested it.
