My dad is okay thankfully. His car and the deer…not so much.

  • Jesus, a deer was going 80 mph?!

The deer was clearly going 75mph per the caption.

Damn. That's really slow for a deer.

  • That’s going to cost ya more than a buck or two…

No points on his license though

  • Your dad was going 75 on I-80? I bet he wishes he was going 80 on I-75 instead at that very moment.

  • At least you didn't get deer guts on the car

Seeing the broken driver window, maybe there in the car...

Eugh I just noticed that- if that is the case hopefully it doesn't leave a smell

  • A deer was going 75! Sign him/her up.

  • Did the airbag deploy. This might not be repairable.

Nope. NQA: from someone who was an a 8yo kid that read the manual for whatever reason of a 2005 Frontier compulsively, the sensor is near the front and center. It didn't deploy the airbags since the sensor was not impacted. Not sure how much the body damage would cost. But I'm sure you could find a hundred body parts in a junkyard to fix it.

  • Edited to say, your dad’s car reminds me of my buddies and that’s why I wrote this. It got totaled just like that.

Couple years ago, I was helping my buddy move across the country. All of her belongings were inside her old Honda civic, and she insisted on stopping to say goodbye to everyone as we were heading out of the state (PA), which made us late to get out of the countryside and the sun went down. There we were, 3 hours from home in a part of the state we had never been to that was basically bumblefuck nowhere at night, five hundred feet from the interstate on-ramp, and a deer ran across the two lane highway. It smashed into the side of a passing car heading the opposite direction and got launched into ours. It totaled her car. She went catatonic. Some witness waited with us for the cops and asked if we wanted to keep an antler that fell off. We were both physically okay but her car, with everything she owned, had to be towed away. The ambulance drivers gave us a ride to a hotel 20 minutes away because, as this was bumblefuck nowhere PA, there was no taxi or uber. Absolute nightmare situation. Fuck that deer

    Did y'all keep the antler?

One of my life regrets is letting the witness keep it. For all the hell that event put us through, I think it would’ve been a good trophy

  • Classic nissan

  • Sounds like the story every Nissan owner tells their insurance

  • Where at on I-80? I live off I-80 and almost took out a buck 3 days ago.
