To be fully truthful with all of you, we are just happy it’s finally out. Colton and I started writing for this album when Sanctum was coming out so we had been sitting on this music for almost 3.5 years. There was a very real possibility that it wouldn’t ever come out. So the fact that anyone is listening to it and enjoying it makes us extremely happy. In my personal opinion I think the album is a grower and will take time to listen to and appreciate. There’s a lot of shit going on, we wrote the album to be consumed how we like to consume full length records. It’s a “full listen” type of LP so we know that takes time for people to take it. We are patient :). Again we are just thankful anyone has listened to it at all, we’re just happy to still be a band. <3
Im sure I can speak for all of us when I say we are grateful y'all are still around man. Angelmaker has always been a band where when I hear new music came out, I have to jump right on that shit. Thank you guys so much for continuing the hard work.
It's really hard for me to hear one song without going back and listening to the full record, you guys knocked it out of the park. Appreciate you guys <3
Not trying to glaze but after quite a few of full listens on my long drives its easily a top 5 all timer for me honestly. (Gets higher every listen) Really wish I would have jumped on the vinly pre-order. Seeing yall next year and I'm beyond hype. Thanks for all the work that goes into to whay yall do, you guys rule.
It’s a phenomenal piece of work and I think might be my favorite album as a start to finish listen you guys have put out. In my Top 2 of album of the year for me.
I’ve been looking forward to this album since like the Suffer Forever tour when I knew you guys were cooking on something.
It’s just such a beautiful album. The musicianship is top notch. The lyrics are dope. I love the dark fantasy vibes throughout. This may be my favorite Angelmaker album, behind Dissentient!
Wanted to let you personally know. The Carcosa album this year was also amazing. Thank you for your contributions to the scene and keep ripping homie🤘
You are right. It took me a a while to fully enjoy it. I liked it the first time I listened but it thought it was your regular Angelmaker album. I think the guest vocalist and new vocalist really add to the dynamic. I played Dark Souls quite a bit and I get that vibe when I listen to this album. It can be serene but there is something lurking in the serenity.
Thanks for the hard work, boys. Keep making awesome music.
I just listened to it all the way through for the umpteenth time at work today and it got me thinking how well it came together as a whole album. It gets better with every listen, absolutely love albums that feel like one cohesive experience. TUTBH is definitely my AOTY, my favorite Angelmaker album, and the best album that's dropped in years imo. Well done lads 👏
Love your music, it gets me through the day. Edmonton is a great place to play a show, you should think about it maybe. Thank you for sharing your talent
Absolutely rips and the new stuff was fantastic live in Knoxville. As an aside, I took my 71 year old mom to her first metal show in Little Rock in October and saw y'all open for SotS. Fucking killed that too. She loved it.
I’ve never listened to you guys until the end of this year when someone said how amazing it is. I am stuck on the bands I enjoy and don’t branch out much. But this album….this album is a BANGER. Love the duel vocalists. This and psycho-frame are my hidden gems this year
I’m just stoked I finally get to see y’all in Portland in April. The album rips. Haunter, Title Track and Omen II are my most listened so far, but all the songs get better every listen.
Honesty, the more I listen to it the more I enjoy it! That's how Sanctum was for me too. I'm sorry for being an impatient fan; Earlier this year I was having a really rough day and said something on reddit like, it's taking so long I don't even care anymore! and that couldn't have been further from the truth! I think a new tour announcement came out and my state wasn't included, and I really just needed new Angelmaker. I'm sorry! You guys finally delivered and I couldn't be happier with the album. I love you guys so much.
There’s a lot of shit going on, we wrote the album to be consumed how we like to consume full length records. It’s a “full listen” type of LP so we know that takes time for people to take it.
Hah, I said that before seeing this comment. I found the singles were really lacking outside of Ben Duerr being awesome, then I found the first half of the album a bit boring. But as a whole the album rocks. It builds so well. Repeat listens improve it as well as you know what is coming which makes the earlier stuff better.
Ive always wanted to like them and have never been able to get into them but I do like their latest album. In saying that, I think the band worked hard to get fans from shows since they started and they ALWAYS have a loyal fanbase hyping their releases everytime and its wholesome as fuck. The guys clearly work hard and get the love they deserve. Its really only a shame that the circles for subgenres of metal are smaller than the talent of the artists and quality of music deserves imo.
Opposite for me, with all the end of year lists coming out in seeing it get overshadowed by Whitechapel and Shadow of Intent. And pretty much everything else tbh lol. I'd gladly be wrong though
Those bands are both way more popular than angelmaker. Their album just came out before these lists started garnering votes, so it makes sense it’s just not as popular.
Anecdotally I think the album is on the same tier as those albums. Whitechapel was my deathcore aoty with angelmaker second.
Mostly everything I’ve personally seen online is very meh regarding the new album, people saying it wasn’t good. And I think that’s wild. Absolutely love the album and it’s primarily what I’ve been jamming lately
i’ve seen way more positive reviews about this album than negative
i do feel like this album dropped at a shitty time though. november/december is always going to be oversaturated with spotify wrapped posts and way too many So NoW THaT iT’S THe eND oF THe YeaR, WHaT’S eVeRYoNe’S AOTY posts
Oh yeah I'm not saying I'm seeing negative reviews for the album, moreso just that I feel like I'm not seeing much talked about it at all lol. I knew everyone that heard the album was probably enjoying it but wasn't personally seeing it come up in conversation as much as other albums
actually yeah you’re right, i’m looking at the aoty post and it got #5 sandwiched right between netherwalker and psycho-frame and yeah those had way more discussion surrounding them when they dropped
Angelmaker has always been underrated. Dudes have been around over a decade and dropping absolute bangers on every ep and album, yet rarely get headlining tours.
While bands like Lorna shore sell out huge venues. I like Lorna too but angelmaker is way better. I don’t understand how they’re not one of the biggest names in deathcore.
I always felt like Lorna's sound is in a microcosm occupied only by Lorna themselves in a way that means I don't see myself comparing them to other deathcore bands much at all - which isn't really something to complain about in itself - but it's kinda frustrating as a deathcore fan who leans towards the core end of the spectrum knowing the bands I tend to enjoy the most aren't really even in the same realm as Lorna. So it's a double edged sword - on one hand it doesn't bother me that Lorna gets more attention than other bands since they're so unique, but on the other hand it doesn't really feel like celebrating Lorna's success carries any major implications for the state of deathcore as I know it since I feel like so many Lorna fans are LORNA fans or explorative alt metal fans not necessarily interested in the rest of the genre
Bringing this up in regards to Angelmaker to say it kinda makes sense to me that a band appreciated by genre enthusiasts are unfortunately kinda doomed to a static level of relevance. A highly dynamic longplay-minded project focused on mastering existing elements of the genre like this one unfortunately isn't going to be as immediately striking to a general audience as most overwhelming band in recent memory
Angelmaker to me are the most pure of the deathcore bands. Their sound IS deathcore, to the pure essence. Breakdowns, riffs, guitar solos, filthy vocals, too many band members, clean production but still sounds dirty, nice dudes in the scene, good vocals, they have slow and fast songs, they like to blend styles and they use awesome samples.
I agree, I feel like there wasn't much said after it came out. Now I'm a die hard angelmaker fan so don't get me wrong. But here's what I think happened ...
1. The hype for the album to came out was prolonged to the point that I think people were less hyped for its release date
2. The vocalist change isn't bad but it's no longer the same. Part of what made them stand out was the vocal volleying between 2 contrasted tones and ranges, whereas now its blending more together and more distorted. The change made them stand out less in my opinion.
3. The songs sound like angelmaker and it's really nice to hear new tracks by them, especially after the 2nd or 3rd listen you appreciate more and more about it. But I will admit that I wasn't mind blown the way I was with the new shadow of intent album. I don't think their goal is to make the most mind blowing music ever though, and it's still very good. But with so many other "album of the year" competing for first place, their new album falls just short of that in my opinion.
I still love them to death and will always buy a ticket to see their show wether they are headlining or opening, but I can see how for these 3 reasons their new album didn't get as much hype as what we thought it could have gotten.
I agree that from what I've seen the band isn't getting the recognition or the hype they deserve. Well, I do my part to cheer them on thats for sure.
I agree. I like Angelmaker but have never thought they were all that great writers. Especially with Mike leaving, I had low expectations for this one. I was blown away. I think it’s absolutely fantastic and easily their best writing.
I love talking about this album, and definitely havent had the chance to much yet - I am pretty new to deathcore this year, so had no expectations of it and initial listen didnt hook me, but after another 1 or 2 listens I am in love. There are some great melodic sections, and not too much if any of the downtempo/gutterals that I'm not really a fan of. I still put Shadow of Intent above it for deathcore releases, but slightly ahead of Kneel Before the Death and Despite Exile. What's your fav song off it?
Either The Omen Part 1 or Altare Mortis. Those both feel like big, drastic emotional moments that hit on Angelmaker's uniquely sentimental vibes that always stood out to me among other deathcore bands. The way they build tension and release it with grand, melodic, almost anthemic choruses - no other deathcore band feels as thoughtful about their sound dynamics and attention to detail in every little moment and transition to make it all hit as hard as possible. The Omen Part 1 might be the best example of this in their entire discography other than a few tracks on self-titled like The Veil and Eternal.
Agreed to all, both The Omen parts are probably my favs, I also love callback/reference songs like Citadel II, and as someone who loves clean vocals I REALLY liked that they were used extremely sparingly near the end of the ST track. Just a really beautiful album experience that gets better with each listen
Truuue the clean vocals caught me offguard. For a band so definitively clean-less, something about hearing the cleans in the tragic final moments of their 4th album is such a punch to the gut.
One of the AOTYs for me! Best flow of the albums I've heard this year.
Can't stand all the breaks and Tik Tok tempo changes that are rampant on other big releases this year. Took me a while to realize what made it so hard to listen them. This Used To Be Heaven hit so hard immediately.
The album is a journey! So much happening throughout. Ear candy galore and lots of dynamics. It is the only thing that sniffed The Acacia Strain for me this year. Those are definitely my top two deathcore albums.
Fucking right. I play this album every day, like Whitechapel's & Fallujah's new albums. By the time I make it to Citadel II, I feel like I missed a part and start back to The Silence, I might be growing my hair because of this album. 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘. I'm going to their next show in OH, for sure
I think it may seem underrated as we actually had a functioning discussion thread for the album within this sub (which I loved). Whereas every other album dropped and we had 30-50 different posts saying the same thing (“Holy fucking shit you have to check out …. Fucking AOTY for sure!”). Netherwalker and Lorna Shore are pretty good examples of this. Not taking anything away from these albums (Netherwalker is my second favorite of the year), it’s just that this sub was heavily saturated with posts about the same songs, and how mind blowing they were.
It’s good, but I’ve been around the block many times. I was there when entombment of a machine dropped. I’m not saying it’s even bad at all, it’s good. But the modern deathcore production just has no grit
I gave this band a try several years ago when someone recommended them to me but just couldn't connect with anything. I checked out this new album when it was released and it is by far my favorite album of the year, cannot stop listening to it!
There were alot of good deathcore albums dropping around the same time theirs did. That's not to say the others were better, people just get distracted easily.
I finally got around to listening to this last week and literally just added it to my playlist two hours ago. They had a really unique rhythm to their songs pre Sanctum and this album immediate struck me as that vibe on steroids, really good stuff.
Been seeing them listed on a lot more tours lately so I hope they get the recognition they deserve.
Yeah, I was definitely feeling like other albums were distracting from it and that's partly what led me to making this post. Being so in love with the album and feeling like no one seemed to be aware of it gave me the strongest itch to say something about it to increase awareness and/or bring the people enjoying the album out of the woodwork for validation lol
It's a slow burn. Took me a while to get into it, I found the singles a bit meh outside of Ben Duerr. But as an album, it slaps. Not as good as Sanctum or Self Titled but still great.

Appreciate you <3
It fuckin’ rips, man. Thank you for all that hard work.
Absolute banger from start to finish. You guys fucking killed it. Please make more music
Grower implies that it’s not good to start with. This album ripped through my pants the second I hit play!!
So glad you dudes were able to get this music out and I can’t wait to catch you in Toronto with SOI 🤘🤘
Thank you! We will be doing a new vinyl drop once the pre-order ones get mailed out. So keep your eyes open for that!
It’s a phenomenal piece of work and I think might be my favorite album as a start to finish listen you guys have put out. In my Top 2 of album of the year for me.
its definitely my deathcore album of the year, thank you for creating it
I’ve been looking forward to this album since like the Suffer Forever tour when I knew you guys were cooking on something.
It’s just such a beautiful album. The musicianship is top notch. The lyrics are dope. I love the dark fantasy vibes throughout. This may be my favorite Angelmaker album, behind Dissentient!

That means a lot to the boys and myself so thank you for listening <3

I’m a bit of a grower myself….
Also the new album is awesome.
I just listened to it all the way through for the umpteenth time at work today and it got me thinking how well it came together as a whole album. Thank you for your music. Special thanks for the new album cover. I love it.
Love your music, it gets me through the day. Edmonton is a great place to play a show, you should think about it maybe. Thank you for sharing your talent
We’ll be there sooner than later, that’s a promise <3 thank you
Absolutely rips and the new stuff was fantastic live in Knoxville. As an aside, I took my 71 year old mom to her first metal show in Little Rock in October and saw y'all open for SotS. Fucking killed that too. She loved it.
This Used to be Heaven is the best song I’ve heard all year and my favourite deathcore song of all time, and in my top 10 of all time. It’s phenomenal
I’ve never listened to you guys until the end of this year when someone said how amazing it is. I am stuck on the bands I enjoy and don’t branch out much. But this album….this album is a BANGER. Love the duel vocalists. This and psycho-frame are my hidden gems this year

Angelmaker rips! I’m psyched to see you guys in Seattle in a few months
Honesty, the more I listen to it the more I enjoy it! That's how Sanctum was for me too. Never apologize it’s more than ok, thanks for listening <3

But as a whole the album rocks. It builds so well. Repeat listens improve it as well as you know what is coming which makes the earlier stuff better.
Is it? All I've seen on every social media platform is that it's all the rage
I didnt feel like there wasn't much praise or hype so I understand where op is coming from
Ive always wanted to like them and have never been able to get into them but I do like their latest album. I love Anglemaker but definitely second to Whitechapel this year
Yeah, you're wrong. I've seen it praised all over the fucking place.
Welp... must just be underrated no matter how much praise it gets
I listened to it a few days ago, probably one of my favorite deathcore records of 2025
i’ve seen way more positive reviews about this album than negative
i do feel like this album dropped at a shitty time though. november/december is always going to be oversaturated with spotify wrapped posts and way too many So NoW THaT iT’S THe eND oF THe YeaR, WHaT’S eVeRYoNe’S AOTY posts

i’m with you. it’s so so good.
it‘s insane good, i‘m so in love
Aoty for me! 🔥

One of my favorites this year
Been on repeat since it came out definitely becoming an all time favorite
Deathcore AOTY easily for me
One of the AOTYs for me! Best flow of the albums I've heard this year.
Can't stand all the breaks and Tik Tok tempo changes that are rampant on other big releases this year. Took me a while to realize what made it so hard to listen them. This Used To Be Heaven hit so hard immediately.
Well done! Can't wait for the vinyl.
Outside of the Sold Soul and Whitechapel album, this was the only other deathcore album I had on repeat.
The album is a journey! So much happening throughout. Ear candy galore and lots of dynamics. It is the only thing that sniffed The Acacia Strain for me this year. Those are definitely my top two deathcore albums.
It’s been on repeat for me 🤘🏻
Been playing it back to back since release!
Easily AOTY!
Album of the year for me, fucking incredible. Can't wait for my vinyl copy to arrive. Angelmaker is undoubtedly my favourite deathcore band
My personal favorite album of the year.

This post is how I find out that they dropped something lol. Listening now
I gave this band a try several years ago when someone recommended them to me but just couldn't connect with anything. I checked out this new album when it was released and it is by far my favorite album of the year, cannot stop listening to it!
This is one of my top albums this year. It's a banger for sure
Sorry no positive posts allowed here
It’s really good but this year was so stacked it wouldn’t make my top ten just a testament of how crazy this year was
There were alot of good deathcore albums dropping around the same time theirs did. That's not to say the others were better, people just get distracted easily.

It's so gooooood
It fuckin rips!
AngelMaker's new album is fokin' fire! 🔥
No it’s not
Underrated or not, it’s a fun ass record. Listened to it 3-4 times in a row when it dropped
It's a slow burn. Took me a while to get into it, I found the singles a bit meh outside of Ben Duerr. But as an album, it slaps. Not as good as Sanctum or Self Titled but still great.
Probably 2 or 3 on the AOTY chart for me. Behind PSYCHO-FRAME and battling with Killing of a Sacred Deer
I didn't even know they put out a new album. Gotta check that out.
Its hands down my AOTY just got my hoodie and flag in from indiemerch today, I hope they announce some colored vinyl varients soon
