I think this was Live Aid, based on Bowie's outfit. Bowie had a nice heeled loafer there I think. he did like a heel and a platform boot unabashedly, stylish guy.
But Iggy is reported the same height as Roger Daltrey (1.68m or about 5'6") and sometimes he looked like that next to Bowie (about up to Bowie's ear, more or less depending on their shoes and pose.) The reported height for Bowie is 1.79m, about 5'10 1/2 so that may be part of why too.
Bowie was not 5’10 1/2”. I met him once in ‘97 when I was 17 and pushing six feet and he was significantly (and surprisingly) smaller than I was. Internet says 5’ 10”, but I’m guessing that was celeb wishful thinking.
