..because there was a Ferrari driving past a scenic shot? It's common place for people to film glory shot of their cars.
The cameraman might've been with Vince, to capture the shot so Vince can post later. You know, the job of a cameraman.
Or, just maybe, there was a car meetup for that community to show off their expensive toys. Not at all a common occurrence in Car Community Central Los Freakin Angeles.
what's worse, he was test driving it. Imagine test driving a performance car on the most dangerous road you can think of, and then flooring it out of a tunnel... with an innocent passenger, who could very likely be the guy from the dealership.
Theres no Porsche dealerships along the highway so im guessing it was a friend but regardless, fuck him for doing that shit. Too old to think youre Paul Walker

This death is one of many examples of how a person can be brilliant in one area (video game industry titan), but that doesn't mean the person is good at anything else. In this case, driving skillfully and responsibly.
Also, as a person becomes extremely successful and wealthy, the ego naturally elevates as well. Ego can sometimes get in the way of sound judgment.
Sure it is. This isn’t some stupid edge-lord “eat the rich” sub or I wouldn’t be here. If you can’t see how what that dude said is wrong you’re just as fucked in the head as he is, pal.
Damn, I saw a video of this yesterday, and a separate post saying Zampella died. I didn’t realize until this post that the car crash video was how he died. What a dumb way to go out
I follow a lot of dashcam subs, like r/IdiotsInCars, and I swear the only time I see a comment downvoted is when it mentions OP was speeding or when it's someone offering defensive driving advice.
I find it so ironic that everyone complains about other drivers while defending driving like an idiot.
Speed limits are put in place for a reason. Go to a track if you want to drive faster.
You don’t think the speed limit that was put in 1955 when cars were what they were, say a 35mph limit in whatever zone, could be safely bumped up by 10 miles?

Those marks are always there. That spot is famous since there are two big tunnels so you can hear exotic cars and bikes ripping through tunnels.
Unfortunately (especially in this direction) it’s really hard to see what’s after the tunnel due to lighting and if you get lost in the sauce, you underestimate how tight the turn is.
That’s why most people brake before and especially on that sides exit. The roads shift is hard to see and you get too far to the embankment side and this happens.
Got downvoted for saying this for some odd reason, but if you have the ability to afford a car that’s way faster than you can handle. Please just go to a fucking track.
Thanks for this much clearer version. Someone in the comments mentioned that you could see the suspension was fully lifted, and you can really see it in this one. It looks like the tires on the driver's side are practically lifted off the road in a turn at that speed on a non-banked curve in the road. I feel terrible for the passenger.
People who drive a million dollar car always think the car have a best protection since it million dollar car. Most performance car dont have a good protection anyway unless someone modified it to extend
Modern sport/super cars have many more safety features, better materials and technology than normal street cars. That doesn't mean you are completely safe driving at high speed.
Rich wankers need to realise that just because you can afford it doesn't mean you know how to drive it. Even the highly skilled sport/race drivers have accidents or die.
What's crazy is that, yes, he was driving like an idiot and it's his fault he wrecked, but why would there be a gap in a concrete barrier like that? That barrier is there for people who run off the road to keep them from slamming in to the rocks. But the way it's designed is just a straight battering ram
It's probably placed where it makes most sense for more realistic speeders who lose control, based on previous accidents. This guy was on rocket mode with no traction.
This looks oddly similar to the place where a guy crashed on his motorcycle because there are no signs that warn of the curve and it catches people off guard who speed through the tunnel.
We don't know exactly what happened. Not really. Could've been driver error, could've been the road, or the car itself. Nothing outright utter stupidity in only this article. Does he have kids?
Every death could be prevented, other than natural deaths or genetic diseases. People are taking risks every day, sometimes odds just stack the wrong way, sometimes you're perfectly careful and a fluke occurs.
The existence of offspring, though potentially deleterious to the gene pool, does not disqualify a nominee. Children inherit only half of each parent's genetic material and thus have their own chance to survive or snuff themselves. If, for instance, the offspring has inherited the "Play With Combustibles" gene, but also has inherited the "Use Caution When..." gene, then she is a potential innovator and asset to the human race. Therefore, each nominee is judged based on whether or not she has removed her own genes, without consideration to the number of offspring or, in the case of an elderly winner, the likelihood of producing more offspring.
I've driven a Ferrari twice in my life (father was an engineering exec at GM). Once in Pontiac Mi and once near Frankfurt GE (Konigstein Im Taunus). I was 17 and 21 yo respectively. In GE I had the opportunity (Autobahn) to let it go, I did, but I didn't.. it was a very powerful car. The car was more than I could deal with, even on a straight line. Boom, know your limitations... This is a sad end to a very successful life, sorry for the his loss and for the people that loved him. #verytragic

Car bursts into flames
“You okay?!?”
comes out of the car burned to a crisp 👍
"Help me Tom Cruise!"
Help me Oprah Winfrey!
Tom cruise's superpower is running. 🤣
Paul walker entered the chat
Not only his car but the money i spent on CoD
He had nothing to do with blops 7. He was the lead of battlefield 6
Well the article says call pf duty
He made the good call of duty’s from like 2009-2012 or something like that, and the went on to make titan fall, some other games, and the bf6 was his
Well he still received some of my money and that money was used to buy that Ferrari
I mean, sure. Have a good one!
Have a good one
Doesn’t matter what you accomplish in life, make sure you don’t die behaving like a fuckwit on camera.
And if you do act like a fuckwit, don't kill someone else while acting like a fuckwit
r/whyweretheyfilming
it’s a famous spot, people camp up there to film cars
They were filming a video of his Ferrari to flex it, he was probably supposed to stop and say something cool
No theyre just random people filming cars because a hundred expensive cars drive through there a day
..because there was a Ferrari driving past a scenic shot? It's common place for people to film glory shot of their cars.

There are racetracks for that, especially for a guy with his money.
Yes, but maybe not with his kind of mindset.
If thats the case, the dealership should be careful with future customers. Take them to a test track and be done with it.
Theres no Porsche dealerships along the highway so im guessing it was a friend but regardless, fuck him for doing that shit. Too old to think youre Paul Walker
Article mentions the passenger was ejected, so most likely didn't wear a safety belt. Still unfortunate for them.
he was ejected in the seat, he was locked into it.
imagine..... imagining.... DAMN!!!
Hey Hank.
Imagine… dragons
[deleted]
I heard that Vance’s mums dog was also ok with him flooring it like that.
How does that make any sense?
Did you have a stroke?
What an idiot, holy shit
I guess someone called him to duty
No respawn in this life

Dude... this is a bit far
I'll allow it
Name....checks out I suppose
He pushed the accelerator a little bit far too.

If only more extremely wealthy people would drive like this
The Tesla Luigi, coming soon.
That’s an absolutely horrible thing to say.
Edit to clarify - Wishing death on total strangers based on the size of their bank account is super fucked up.
IMO it's mildly interesting at best.
I don't see what's horrible about hoping that more people meet fatal consequences for terrible behaviour that risks the lives of others.
I think it's actually a good idea, I'd like more deadly consequences for that sort of thing than we currently have.
You're not reading what that commenter said, so here it is again:
Wishing death on total strangers based on the size of their bank account is super fucked up.
Broken_record.exe
He has a point tho
Insanely stupid mentality.
No, he doesn't. Wishing death on total strangers based on the size of their bank account is super fucked up.
Eh I was thinking more about the billionaires that are currently ruining the planet
Then say that.
I was replying to exactly what he said:
This is not ok.
Are you gatekeeping deathwishes to billionaires exclusively?
This is not the right sub for you bud.
Sure it is. This isn’t some stupid edge-lord “eat the rich” sub or I wouldn’t be here. If you can’t see how what that dude said is wrong you’re just as fucked in the head as he is, pal.
You wouldn’t write this shit if you had money.
You'll be poor forever with that attitude
also, just having people "filming" you - I fear circumvents some basic common sense.
Or even have the common sense not to do this at that location
Should have played more GTA then, vehicles have historically sucked in CoD.

You're on the Darwin Awards. Them being posted here is already them being made fun of.
Damn, I saw a video of this yesterday, and a separate post saying Zampella died. I didn’t realize until this post that the car crash video was how he died. What a dumb way to go out
When money makes you think you're invincible.
r/surrendercobra
What a stupid fucking way to die. He made a lot of good things. Damn.
Judging from the tracks they'd been at the dumb shit for some time.
That's just that location, the rubber marks from successful drivers..
Remember. No *rushing.
What a moron. Perfectly avoidable death.
How preventable 🤦
Should have driven the speed limit.

You mean the speedlimits that were once 70mph? There are other reasons for speedlimits, cars are not the only factor.
Well, that seemed entirely preventable. What a dumb move.

Still trying to figure out why the fuck a group of people were sitting on the side recording?
Angeles Crest is a very famous and popular road for driving performance cars so it's likely that they were just there car spotting.
Content, from the marks on the ground already, it looks like they're been ripping up there for a while.
Dumb way to die when you seemingly have it all
Those marks are always there. That spot is famous since there are two big tunnels so you can hear exotic cars and bikes ripping through tunnels.

If he goes to hell with he just be getting spawnkilled by showing up the moment he hits over and over?
Got downvoted for saying this for some odd reason, but if you have the ability to afford a car that’s way faster than you can handle. Please just go to a fucking track.
Hopefully the CoD franchise goes with him.
CoD crashed and burned a long time ago
Mission failed, We’ll get’em next time!
stuck in textures
Don't worry guys he can respawn in gulag
Don't know what is worse, the Ferrari crash or the video.
Wow TMZ really made that video terrible to watch with forcing it to be landscape and the flashing borders.
God, I hate when videos are re-uploaded like this. You can't see anything.
Some guys uploaded a recording of it without knowing who it was: https://youtu.be/WUIYLmIZVfE
Yeah, but this one you can actually get on fullscreen on your phone, which doesn't work in the TMZ version.
That's what I mean; when they take a cellphone video and change the format to fit TV or computer screens.
Yeah that is extremely annoying. I often have to go to the WPD app to see what really happened to lots of violent events.
Wow the crash was bad enough that his entire seat was ejected from the car, allowing them to drag him away using it like a sled. That's nuts.
Wonder if he was DOI or passed later.
People who drive a million dollar car always think the car have a best protection since it million dollar car. Most performance car dont have a good protection anyway unless someone modified it to extend
I don't think this is true in modern models. If we're talking Shelby Cobra times, yeah, but not nowadays.
Wasn’t the Ferrari in this accident brand new from the dealer?
And?
Modern sport/super cars have many more safety features, better materials and technology than normal street cars. That doesn't mean you are completely safe driving at high speed.
Whoever put that barricade there is a bad level designer anyway. Don’t blame the player, blame the game?
barricade where the edge isn't continuous so that cars have an impact zone to aim at for maximum damage.
Do you think he will respawn at the tunnel entrance?
Too bad he didn’t invent need for speed.
F
Nonsense, he drove it into a concrete barrier designed to protect the mountain from idiots like him.
Rich wankers need to realise that just because you can afford it doesn't mean you know how to drive it. Even the highly skilled sport/race drivers have accidents or die.
CoD brained idiot....
Load last checkpoint
Lol so that’s the guy. Rip rest in pieces for being dumb driver. Good on you
Too many dollars, not enough sense.
That was unnecessary
Crashing the car?
Yes
In that particular fashion - yes. Clearly just flooring it "for fun" and no safety measures.
My guess would be that he turned off all the driving aids like traction and yaw control because only pussies need them.
Better off posting the video it’s already online
Not allowed to directly link videos
Aww that’s lame swear we had videos here before
What's crazy is that, yes, he was driving like an idiot and it's his fault he wrecked, but why would there be a gap in a concrete barrier like that? It's probably placed where it makes most sense for more realistic speeders who lose control, based on previous accidents. This guy was on rocket mode with no traction.
I knew this video was real the moment I saw Petrol Girl / Aimee Shackleford's warning post on IG yesterday.
He was probably looking for the Y button to rewind.
This looks oddly similar to the place where a guy crashed on his motorcycle because there are no signs that warn of the curve and it catches people off guard who speed through the tunnel.
Rich people need to be reminded that they too can die…
Dummy…

Oof.
Damn I saw this this morning; didn’t realise it was ol mate that made video games
Stupid car tricks

More info needed
Maybe COD becomes playable 🤷🏽♂️
Does this means cod will get better again?
That was for Black Ops 7
Where's the rest of the video
You can see all the tire marks on the road like they were doing shit out there for a while.
(not to mention the entire group filming)
Does he hit a boulder or the actual mountain? I can’t tell from the video.
Concrete barrier actually, but I was being pithy.
Maybe a bit more Forza or Gran Turismo?
Mission failed, we'll get 'em next time
Los Angeles Crest Highway! I hope the explosion didn’t start a wildfire.

Oh, I don’t know that. Well time to delete my comment 😨
He has kids.

Why „she“?
Why not?
And hopefully they’ll learn not to do dumb shit like this.
So
All these people probably have kids
He crashed harder than Black Ops 7
So now car accidents are darwin awards?
If you watched the video it is clear why it's a Darwin award. Using the term "accident" is more of a formality than anything. This was no accident
