  • The one who was face planted is the lucky one

I thought he was going to be the dead one at first.

  • Next time it will be someone filming a cell phone showing this video of a TV screen, with reactions in the background.

I guess the original is security recording system, from what I know it's hard to copy videos from those.

It's been posted here already, it wouldn't surprise me if the link is still active.

  • If you see someone in a similar situation, you cannot simply grab them or push them--you could become part of the electric pathway and die.

I don't know if a running, flying kick would be safe to attempt. But if any part of you is touching the victim and the ground at the same time, or a pathway to the ground, it will be bad

I've seen a video here with MUCH lower current where the hero uses his wool scarf to loop around the victim's neck. And yank him away from the source.

I'm thinking of a scenario where a family member, maybe a youngster, is being shocked: what is the safest way to try and save them??

Experienced Electricians, how would you attempt a rescue?

If I was driving by I would put my car in drive and let it go forward toward them.

Always use the back of your hand as well, when you get shocked your hands will grip tighter.

I think you are supposed to find a big stick and try and push them but honestly a lot of the time you would just die trying.

I've been instructed to use a long stick of something non-conductive to push them away from the thing.

I wouldn't even try. There's plenty of videos in this sub of people trying to rescue electrocution victims and then dying themselves.

People want to run to help when they see something bad happening to someone. Uncountable people die in wars rushing to help those injured by drone strikes, even knowing that the enemy does "double-taps" to kill the responders. It's basically impossible to talk people out of it. It's very very hard to get them to resist that urge completely. Giving some guidelines about how to be somewhat safer is probably going to be more effective than just telling people precautions don't work and they should just not bother.

  • why were his nose burnt as you can see it at the end of the video? The current went from his hands to his feet.
And the rubber wheels of the cart made the two men better conductors compared to the cart. If the cart had steel wheels AFAIK the current would have gone thru the cart. It would have probably heated it up very quickly but the men would have survived

  • It's always India or China, innit?

are you trying to imply safety standards matter?

Indians in particular don’t do well around trains, heavy machinery, water and power lines.

  • With a high enough voltage, the current can arc from one conductor to the next. That's why you shouldn't get too close to high-voltage power lines. My guess is that his nose was close enough to his arm or that crossbar on the scaffolding that the current arced between the two, causing the burns.

So his flip flops couldn’t save him?

  • Live wire, the apex predator of India along with trains.

  • What is it with Indians with electricity and trains?

    And water. Don't forget water.

  • Fuck I can smell him , sensory overload 🤢

Came here to say this. Smells like burnt chicken biryani, I can smell it from here

  • His hands were clenched. Nkt easy to pry them off the cart

  • I've seen this clip on this sub before, but I didn't know about this website. It sure has some gnarly stuff.

  • That is... not ideal

  • I had seen the cctv footage before but not the body. On the bright side his actual death was likely instant

  • And that's why I don't eat Indian food. Too spicy.

  • Mmm what's that delicious bbq smell..... Ooooh wait

  • Let's see, what comes to mind on this one.....

I'm stuck on you. Feelin' HOT HOT HOT! Hey dude, let's get BBQ for lunch after we move this scaffold.
