• Lightning spear, lightning spear, lightning spear, lightning spear, maybe a little heavenly thunder zest and it was over :/

pre nerf lightning spear was goated

I never experienced heaven either. Came in too late

Imagine lightning spear but every page of it gave you like 20 casts, it was insane

  • Yeah I got to this boss and it was nowhere as hard as I thought it was going to be. It seemed like people were making it out to be a crazy boss but, it has extremely slow and predictable attacks. Even when it turns into a duo boss, it’s still not hard to find attack windows.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely a cool and memorable boss, but you can just absolutely melt it. Granted, I did use a lightning infused rapier but still… I wish you could fight it while in CoC, that would make things more interesting

Ya, I really didn’t have trouble wielding a lightning/ice rapier. I enjoyed it, kinda a pain to get to though.

  • Sadly he is extremely weak to magic.

  • try caestus🙃

  • Even with a hex build you can absolutely demolish the Darklurker for the simple fact that he's affected by Profound Still, which you can buy from Grandahl. Just cast it when you're close to him and bam, the Darklurker becomes completely passive for 30 seconds.

  • Hmm dont know What you mean He was first try for me . . . I was lv 180 xD

  • I will say I like that it actually felt worth grinding for sunlight spear and looking for the great lightning spear miracles. Faith went from zero to hero against Darklurker and the late game bosses.

  • Me and my Zwei- Close fun fight

Me coming back with my +10 Pyromancy -

A couple Chaos Storm/Fire Storm/Great FB later = one dead fucking lurker.

Fun boss fight either way but that thing melts against some Pyromancy.

  • I tried to kill Sinh , the Slumbering Dragon with a Pyromancer today and ended up deleting a game for a time ... I'm just so disappointed...why did they make Sinh immune to Poison, Toxic, then Almost immune to Dark, Fire, Spells.

The only way I felt I would have won is either fight him for 20 minutes each attempt or go respec into Strength build.

Since I lost all my souls , I gave up on completing my own "only Pyromancies run"

Pyromancies are Okay, but inconsistent. Against 70% of enemies they are "fine", against 25% of enemies they are awful and 5% of enemies are being deleted with Fire Damage, for example Darklurker, I spammed 7 Great Fireballs at him the first 12 seconds of the fight or so and until he finished his Splitting animation I buried him with 3 Forbidden Suns.

For example I threw my whole arsenal of Pyromancies at Sinh and it didn't even take 30% of his health

Look I sympathize, I do, but hearing you say “why is the fire-breathing dragon full of poison immune to poison and resistant to fire” is… something. Like, what did you expect?

My expectations are my own problem at the end. But there's a Path of Exile system..where you can choose a class, an element that you want to deal damage with and it will clear the whole game given you've leveled you character to the maximum.

I know there are consumables is souls games that give you temporal buffs and debuffs for enemies, but I think it's better to rely on your character's base power without limited items.

What you are saying is logical, I get it, but it's not practical in a video game where characters are not prepared to be "all classes at ones"

This is a huge aspect of Souls games - you can't make one build and effortlessly go through a game without struggles. You have to adapt and sometimes break yourself to overcome something.

"Why did they make the ancient dragon powerful."

My complaint is that he is trivial if fought with some 50 Strength Power stance greatswords

It's only my opinion that a boss should feel similarly between the builds in terms of efficiency.

One maxed out build should deal decent damage just like other maxed out build.

    • 10 Pyromancy Flames deletes Darklurker, Trone Defender and Throne Watcher..., toxic+poison by Pyromancy is a way to go against Smelter Demons, Old Iron King and DLC gank fight.

But to make bosses take 90% less damage of a certain ailments is a bad decision imho.

Then boss fight becomes harder only because it will take a very long time,so some builds are forced to struggle unnecessarily.

Pyromancies lowkey suck in DS2, due to the low amount of casts and highly resisted damage type. Plus the abundance of water areas.

HOWEVER, big thing with pyromancy is that basically any build works decently alongside them. So I guess the intent here is for them to be a supplement rather than the main damage source. For example I made a full dark sorcerer build, and leaned on pyromancies against dark resistant foes (case in point, Darklurker)

Pyros suck if you treat them like the other magic schools, however if you consider how poorly they scale (only gaining 25% at 60 vs 0) then they work fantasticly for a low investment spell school (you can just level attunement) for a more standard melee build.

Flame Swathe would like to have a word with you.

Sinh took me ages and ages to defeat. I didnt have a specific build. I took a random day off of work one day to do the fight and when I finally defeated him the elation was unrral.

That fight is something else. I would never attempt it again

His hitboxes are weird and 60% of the fight he is in the air and you have no options to even lock on him let alone to hit him.

He has a lot of Hp and seems to be resistant against all damage that is not Physical or Lighting.

So yeah...not a pleasant fight but at least runback is trivial xD

That's a huge problem with DS2 DLC for some reason the devs decided that caster builds aren't allowed against DLC bosses because they barely do any damage. Fume Knight is even worse.

I agree that a Pyro only run can meet some serious roadblocks since you are limited to poison, toxic and fire damage (Outcry deals Dark but I don't count it for obvious reasons), but you should expect the fire breathing dragon that has been accumulating poison for years to resist those things.

My way of circumventing these limitations was an Enchanted MLGS at 60 INT for Crown of the Old Iron King, Sihn and the Ivory King. This is one of the things that DS3 improved if only because they give you three Dark Pyro spells and the frost status.
